    Hello Romney,
    Thank you for sharing your valuable thoughts on this topic. I've been looking for a updated video on this topic 🙂

    Hi, Thank you for your helpful video. I want to publish a Cookbook - it's written and ready to go but I don't know which platform to use. I feel I need it on Amazon but Ingram Sparks say they work with Amazon - do you know how this works with the link?

      Best way is to purchase an ISBN and load book to both platforms

    Hi Romney! I think I am finally going to give Ingram Spark a whirl. I have a childrens picture book that I am planning to publish soon on it. Do you happen to have video tutorials that explain how to upload books to the site?

    • @globalselfpublishing

      IngramSpark is certainly worth exploring. I’m 80% into creating some more content for Ingram so this will be ready by the end of the month. This will include the upload process etc.

      Hi Michael. Thank you. Yes, I really love the wide distribution of IngramSpark and it provides an excellent form of diversification for my books rather than just on KDP.

    Thanks for this, very interesting. I don't know when Ingram Spark changed, but there are now no file set-up fees. The $25.00 file revision cost is still in place, however.

    if you want to publish in both, and when you setup IngramSpark, would you exclude KDP from IngramSpark settings?

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not necessarily because you might just want to upload your book to the Ingram platform and they will place it on KDP for you rather than you having to upload to both platforms.

    Ingram Spark really does seem like a better proposition. How well does fiction books sell on Ingram Spark or are most your books non-fiction? Thanks Romney :)

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, Ingram is an excellent addition to getting your books out into the market! All my books are non-fiction but in saying that, I have friends and associates with fiction books that do very well on the platform!

    hi Romney , I have a book on KDP with their ISBN.. just wanted to understand that I should leave that there .. buy my own ISBN and upload that book on IngramSpark . . Is there anything else I need to do ??

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, leave that book on KDP (with their ISBN) as it may have reviews and some sales traffic. In the future, buy your own ISBN if you intend to place that book on both Ingram and KDP. You can use the same ISBN on both as long as its the exact same book. When uploading your book to KDP, just don't tick 'Expanded Distribution' if you also intend to have that book via IngramSpark.

    That's great. Thanks for the video. When calculating the cost of a book on IngramSpark, it shows printing costs, for example $5, but there is a note: Print costs and earnings shown do not include GST or any other taxes.
    From your experience, how much does this figure change when taxes are included and how much would the printing cost actually be then?

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      To be honest, I haven’t taken much notice as countries like Australia that have GST are such a small proportion of my revenue it doesn’t make a difference.

    Im trying to publish a right to left comic in English, should I fight to do both platforms or only Ingram Spark? KDP keeps saying they do not offer right to left books publishing on KDP, so is that option not available ebook digital for KDP, right to left? People say Ingram posts your book on Amazon, so what do you recommend since right to left option is available on Ingram for sure. I want to do both but is that possible for me? Whats the best option?

    • @globalselfpublishing

      It all depends if your book is eligable for IngramSpark and meets their Content Integrity Guidelines to start with.

      They would be as long as they meet the requirements of IngramSpark. You can check those out via the below link. You can currently get 3 x Free Uploads up until the 31st August and waive the $49 Upload fee but you would require your own unique ISBN. www.ingramspark.com/blog/ingramsparks-catalog-integrity-announcement

    • @globalselfpublishing

      Depends what 'Wholesale Discount' you offer. You can adjust it anywhere from 30% - 55% depending on your strategy to get into brick and mortar bookstores or to just aim for online sales.

    How do the 40,000 stores and libraries find your book on Ingram?

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Via huge variety of ways including searches on your book topic (via your metadata), catalog info sent out via Ingram, your marking including links to your book, via Amazon as Ingram can also link your book to that platform plus many other ways.

      Just ensure you spend the time to make it right first time when uploading? It’s your book but they are the ones making it possible to sell it globally so why should Ingram be accountable for your corrections and mistakes with your cover or manuscript?

    KDP seems to be taking the printing cost out of my 60% royalty instead of off the top.

    • @globalselfpublishing
      @globalselfpublishing  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd suggest contacting KDP to discuss but rember that if you sell a book for say $8.99, your overall royalty after printing costs might only be between $1.50 - $1.90. This obviusly depends on the size, page count and printing paper you have chosen.
