Although the cover color of my book, “Related By Love” was inconsistent, the inside pages were all consistent and the color was perfect!
Oh that's good! It's a wonderful book with a beautiful message 🙂
This was an incredibly helpful video! I can't wait to check out your other videos (I just subscribed). My husband and I are in the process of writing a children's book and trying to navigate these waters while staying motivated and excited about seeing our book through. Thank you!
Aww I'm so glad!! Thank you for your kind words and for subscribing! Let me know if you have any questions along the way! 💕
Very helpful, thank you!
great video thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you. This was very helpful 👍🏽
You're so welcome!
Great video as always!! I would have never been able to publish my paperback on KDP without your tutorials!! Now I would like to publish a hardcover through IS. However, I’m not tech savvy and I think the file layout is different for hardcover with IS because I think they require bleeds on all sides instead of 3. This is stumping me:(
if you can make a video on how to reformat your KDP paperback files to IS hardcover files that would be super helpful!! Thanks Heather for all the extremely useful and well explained content!
Aww thank you so much for your kind words!! I'm so glad that my videos helped you!! Yes I will add that to my list, thank you so much for the video suggestion! ❤️

Thank you so much for this info. What about customer service? I've found KDP's to be problematic. Your books are cute!
Thanks!! I haven't had to use their customer service much. Their return process is good. When I email them for certain things like increasing "Look Inside the Book" page count, they get back pretty quickly. I did chat with them one time, because I was trying to ask them whether it was possible to have A+ content for a book published with IngramSpark, and that was super weird. They were like "We are not able to help you if you are publishing with IngramSpark" and I was like "But I'm asking about the KDP author dashboard. I'm trying to associate my A+ content with my book and it says it can't confirm the book is mine (even though the book shows up on my author page)" and he wouldn't even answer my question. I asked specifically "Can you just tell me IF it is possible to add A+ content in my dashboard to a non-KDP book" and he refused to give me a yes or no. It was bizarre! That's really the only time I've contacted their customer service.
Hi Heather, thanks for the vid it was really informative. I need a sort of clarification on this: If I have a book published on Amazon with their free ISBN and it's a paperpack version with a trim size of 8.5x8.5 in. and I want to publish a hardcover which Amazon doesn't offer for the moment is there a way to publish a hardcover version on IngramSpark with an ISBN bought from bowker? Need your advice on how to publish a hardcover on Ingram knowing that a paperpack version is already published on amazon with a free ISBN. Thanks in advance
Hi! Yes you should be able to publish a hardcover on IngramSpark with a different ISBN. The hardcover and paperback versions will always have different ISBNs anyways. Hope that helps!
Hi ☺can you create a vlog how to create a duplex book cover design?
Yes I will!!
Hi! Here's a video on how to create a duplex cover design for IngramSpark!

Did you use IS book building tool to create your book?
No I laid out my book in Photoshop. I have tutorials for laying out your book in both Photoshop and Canva!
Heather, I've been told repeatedly yo use the same ISBN for each kind of book when I publish on Ingram Spark and Amazon. Is that right?
No that is not correct. As per Wikipedia (entry on ISBNs):
An ISBN is assigned to each separate edition and variation (except reprintings) of a publication. For example, an e-book, a paperback and a hardcover edition of the same book will each have a different ISBN.
Thank you!! Would I use the same ISBN for the KDP and Kindle paperback, etc?

Did you mean to say, the KDP & IngramSpark paperback? If so, yes 🙂
Could you make this a separate video? It's not clear how to go about publishing to both using ISBNs you've purchased from Bowker. @@HeatherCashArt
Do you have experience with claiming books published with Ingram on Amazon Author Central
Yes, if you mean having it under your books on your author page. Hold on and I will log in again to see what the steps were
Go into Author Central, under Books click View All Books, scroll to the bottom and click Add a Book, then you can search for the book you want to add.
Did you buy your own ISBN or used the free one ?
I bought my own, but they are pricey. Actually, technically a friend gave me some he has that he wasn't going to use. I don't know if I would have bought it myself because they are so expensive. Now that I think about it, I need to make a video about getting your own ISBN vs using a free one from Amazon or IngramSpark!
If you make a video about this, could you include the information of how to publish to both KSP & IngramSpark using your own Bowker ISBN, please. @@HeatherCashArt
