I totally agree. He mentions “to catch a thief” which was shot in a very upscale style. (An added, very distinctive element, Almost a participating character and defines the other characters.)
At first I was turned off because it seemed the man was just reading from his notes. However as he continued I realized his reach is clearly not contained within the notes but his deep study and feeling of the film and it's many creators. A superb and worthy send-off to a brilliant picture. I wish more commentaries were of this quality.
Interesting to hear this. I don't like the psychiatrist scene, but looks like it was necessary. I was also disparaging about Simon Oakland's acting. But I now that I found that it was done in one take, I have a new found respect for his performance.
Thank you for all the information you gave us AND what the initial reactions were. I always wondered what it was like to go to see Psycho and have no idea. How did they react? I wish footage existed showing it.
Wishing movies had more commentaries. Solely the reason I bought movies

Whats bothersome?
I've always loved Normal's little "step up" when he tells Arbogast that he didn't fool Mother. This commentary is really stunning, good work!
Excellent commentary.
I know there were many movies many directors before Hitchcock but for me he almost singlehandedly invented film language.
I totally agree.

Nice commentary on the 50s and censorship in general.
Thank you 😊 I enjoy listening 👍

In the trailer when the shower curtain is pulled back it's Vera Miles shown screaming.

Music made movie.
Anyone else here read the book or listened to the audiobook?
Yes. Somewhat different from the movie.
Really in all the years since this video was made you Still haven't corrected that spelling error? It's the name of the movie!
It’s intentional to avoid getting the upload flagged for a copyright violation.
Is that right? I was wondering if it was a foreign-language spelling or something.
