i'm loving how the book is paralleling the things that happened in annihilation. The scene with withby is by far the creepiest so far hahaha The name of the cat is chorizo, i dont remeber if they tell it in the book but chorizo is sausage in spanish lol
I don't know if anyone mentioned this on the discord server or elsewhere, but did someone notice that at the end of chapter 23, in the paragraph that starts with "The TV was on low,...", the women talking at the bar partially repeat a conversation between the biologist and the surveyor (Annihilation, chapter 2)? Control is bothered by this, and initially I thought he might be reacting unconsciously to the memory of having read the biologist's diary, but I don't think Control had access to the diary, did he? Did the biologist have it when they found her or was it left in Area X? I can't remember.
Oh damn I didn't notice that either. I'll have to go back. Control never had access to my knowledge since "the biologist" is still in Area X and the one he's talking to is a clone, at least that's my guess. Book 3 should provide an answer to that.

@JasonFuhrman Maybe the clone took the diary? I think that at the end of annihilation, the biologist says that she will abandon the diary in area x
