Sleep deprivation heightened the risk of heart attack on human, hence the heart symbolism on the beginning and the repeat of "no overtime allowed" in the game. It was probably going to represent his boss but there's not enough there to make a solid connection beyond reminding him of the time and reminding him no overtime was allowed before (ironically) the creator got hit by the deadline for the gamejam. Done! As for my reasons behind calling their assessment shallow: black cats don't represent bad luck anywhere but one or two cultures. In actuality most cultures believe they are *good* luck. They're also a symbol representing anarchism, which could play into the fact that this is an office job that someone got worked to death in. Anarchism being a representation of true freedom could be that whatever that creature symbolizes (could be the boss for all we know) "killed" the protagonist's freedom. After all why would a dead symbol of bad luck be in the hands of a symbolic antagonist here? Surely if it actually were to represent bad luck, the cat would still be very much alive and well. Unless of course you consider having a heart attack in an office you probably hate to be "good luck." The giant babyman representing the boss, as mentioned previously, comes from the idea that the boss is going to be the guy reminding you to work faster and don't go over, as well as the fact that he stands a full head taller *while hunched over.* Psychologically speaking taller people have an easier time getting into positions of leadership because we are still gorillas hardwired to go "unga bunga big guy is leader" until our smart human brains make a better judgement call. There is actually a few things to suggest it wasn't a heart attack persay, and that maybe the protagonist did themselves in during a Halloween office party *because* they were overworked. This would end with much more emotional turmoil and as is common in spooky mythology, ghosts often end up trapped in the moment of the end of their lives *or* in significantly tumultuous moments that are charged with strong emotions such as anger and grief. That explains the looping office. Just because i criticize someone and don't hold their hand doesn't mean I don't know what i'm talking about, kiddo. You're just as clueless as the guy randomly postulating that a dead cat represents bad luck in this situation where, to be honest, luck doesn't really apply as a major theme? Reciprocation and participation is not a requirement for criticism. Force multiply yourself.

Protag is the company boss who overworked an employee to death and is now trapping and haunting him to the office I mean it makes sense if you think about it. He probably had him stay late to finish work but then would tell the diaper man (probably didn’t wear diapers then but who knows) that since “No overtime was allowed” he wouldnt be paid for the work. I’d haunt my employer after dying for that for sure
I have a theory- diaper man is the office worker in the future after overworking, basically I think he was so focused on working that he didnt sleep, eat, use the bathroom, anything. He used a diaper so he didnt have to get up for the toilet, and killed and ate the office cat so he wouldnt starve. He worked to death, prolly heart attack or somethin and thats why they dont allow overtime, so they dont have that happen to anyone else. Farfetched i know lol but thats just what i think

So I don’t usually do game theory’s but from what I gather is You’re character obviously died at work he was probably struggling to make ends meet but you keep seeing signs that says no overtime so I’m guessing he might’ve forgone breaks and lunches to squeeze in as much extra time on the clock as he can but the stress and possible fatigue of skipping a meal and not leaving a desk for 9 hours a day ended up killing him He gos through the endless loop of this one office because that’s where he died it’s all he can remember so when he takes the elevator down he doesnt know what comes next so his memory’s just recreate the floor again The crazy guy is probably a reflection of himself he runs around in a diaper maybe to represent the character never allowing himself even bathroom breaks and whenever you see him he’s carrying/stabbing/or eating a dead cat and the office clock is a cat so more than likely it’s a metamor for his frustration that his pay and hours aren’t enough

Good to see more from the Ratuz dev, and I'm pleasantly surprised by the voice acting. It's fairly simple, but that's not surprising given the time limit they had. The scares not really making sense are fine because they're just so weird.
The voice is an ElevenLabs AI voice. Definitely heard that one before. Not sure if English is the devs native language so this might be their work around
