I reckon your driving has really improved. Keep working at it, you're doing well. Nice chairs, you need a leisure suit to wear while you are lounging on them.
People think Kev's just a basher driver but nope, he's a quick chap on the track that's for sure. Don't forget he's also super handy with RC helicopters. The dark horse and super quick RC TH-cam driver is Vinny from @Vinnyschannel.
Good news! The diff is an easy fix. Get Green Slime shock lube, grease both sides with a light coat, and hey presto, diff no longer wets itself. Slime is a good buy because it works magic on shock seals also!
I have the alloy diff cover already. That helps stop the diff from flexing a bit but the gasket is too thin. I’ll try some green slime to see if that fixes it
I have a B6.4 also and I’ve had it since it’s release as I ordered it quick. However I haven’t driven it quite yet as I haven’t finished putting it together lol. My point is watching the fun you guys have is really putting a fire 🔥 underneath my rear end. Thank you!!!
I’m trying to confirm that the Team XRAY diff works as I would like to give that a go. It looks like it does as it’s supposed to be a much better diff option. I’ll order some of that green slime seal from TA today and see if that fixes it.
@@RCKickschannel hi! I'm interested too about that x-ray diff. I managed to keep 98% of oil in with alu cover but there is still little in gearbox every time..
@@villesalmi899 xray leaks also, its just something to get used to or in my case im using regular grease in the gear diff to make it more of a feel to ball diff (more turn in in tight corners and smoother acceleration) but the strength of gear diff and bonus the grease dont leakout.
Get some liquid Permatex from ur local automotive store to stop the diff leakage. They should have blue, Grey, and black. They will tell which one is for each application I think the darker is more for withstanding hotter applications. But that should be a cheap Maybe $10 a tub. And it can be as permanent as you want to be. And I promise u will not be disappointed
Its responsive AF now Gav, seems slightly skittish even. Maybe that differential needs seeing to, and filled with appropriate fluid. Please update us, itll be interesting to see what you did and if it made a difference overall in handling.
I absolutely hate those tiny track's. I know they probably don't have the room speed people wanna see speed and jumps cars slowly turning here and there is a bore fest speed and jumps yay that's what I'm talking about.. x ray diff? 🤔God those emojis are ugly.good job buddy 👍🇺🇲
Don't think your as noob as you think any more. And look at who your on the track with. 😎 Video doesn't lie, your running with some fast company. R/C touring cars in no time.
It seems you have missed how qualifying works in RC racing. Because of the staggered start track position does not reflect position. Just cos you start 5th it is possible to not over take anyone and be first if your lap times are quicker. Also in the first heat when you crashed into the other guy it’s considered decent manners to wait for the other car and not take the opportunity to go quicker than them.
He is right, everyone runs on their own clock so technically its possible to start last, not overtake a single person and finish 1st but thats only likely to happen with some extremely competitive onroad racing. Even with offroad, its not uncommon to start way back, only go past 2-3 people but end up 2-3 places higher due to the staggered start. Also you're not racing people in qualifying and generally most clubs would expect drivers to let faster drivers through rather than holding position if they got ahead.
I'm going to state the obvious and I will say it really slowly. PLEASE for the love of God, remember THIS IS RC ENTERTAINMENT! It's not a bloody factual guide to ANYTHING. It is made to entertain people. OMG, these videos are edited to encourage people to try RC racing as it looks like fun and a laugh! I thought they were trying to be helpful. Gavin, you say it's for entertainment, and I agree because that's why we come to TH-cam. But if you're trying to represent what racing is like to people who never have raced, Just get an entry level car and race in the novice or spec class which is more fun than mixing it with the big boys. I wonder how many people are enticed to racing if it means shelling out $$$ for the top buggy, then more $$$ just to make it competitive.
@@RCKickschannelwoah… chill your boots! How defensive are you? I would suggest that not knowing the basics of how something might work could spoil people’s fun, but maybe I’m wrong. I wasn’t criticising I was just pointing out an error which I think is something that new racers might like to know. Also waiting for someone you have crashed into is just manners I didn’t realise that manners were exclusive to serious racers, in fact I would propose that good manners makes people get on better and therefore leads to a more “fun” environment.
I sold the B6.4 on a while back and now have a PrSB401 Type R with even more power and it’s a track weapon. Fast enough to get me into some A finals and win a few B finals. Not bad for a rubbish driver but it’s all the car.
i raced with guys for several years that never got much better than you were doing. good job
O-ring grease around the gasket..or alum diff cover..👍🏻
I have the alum diff cover and it didn't fix it. Green slime is my next stop.
@@RCKickschannel also check the diff plastic lip is really flush..can also let the diff rest outside for one day and see it is leaking or not..
Considering how little race experience you have, you're doing really well mate. And that car looks to be handling much better too, awesome stuff!!
I don't have a bloody clue lol. Just shows, anyone can race RC buggies and have a blast.
I was amazed by the guy using the old school air-plane transmitter. No way I could use that.
You do have a nice buggy The paint scheme that's personal I like the green and white colors for racing. Go Team Associated
Really enjoyable seeing you race and upgrade your car and improve your skills.
Enthusiastic marshalling lads!

Kevin mentioned alloy diff cover for leak fix. A temporary or alternative is a bead of silicone grease around the gasket.

Just get the alloy diff cover leak solved

The plastic ones fine if you don’t over tighten it, but Kevs right the alloy one stops the leaking.
Alloy one stops the leaks, BUT make sure the bolts are not too long, AE supplied some diffs with the bolts too long

The buggy is still too fast for that small track. Turning down the power and end points will give more consistent lap times and be faster over 5mins.
Great video. If you’re not first you’re last 😂

Did the X-Ray diff ever get purchased and installed? Interested in doing the same
Sold it on before I purchased it as the B7 came out
@@RCKickschannel I'll pick one up, want to see if it will fit in my Willspeed RF3
The new Fusion front tyre is probably the easiest way to get more front grip/steering, will probably require a few setup changes though
I really like these videos

Thanks 👍
Gav, your target should be consistent sub 13 sec laps. The car can do it, so it's up to you now.
