Yesterday I started a follow along build. The thickest material I have on hand is ¼ x2 W2. I really wish that I had 3/16ths. Creating enough width vs length for the handle was a major challenge. It turned out that I didn't allow enough of a slope in the transition from heal to handle. Basically I was left with too narrow of a connection between blade and handle. I'll do better with my next attempt this next week. Thank you Lin, this series is a real inspiration.
