    Binance SEPA EUR deposits/withdrawals are being re-introduced again across markets now - more information is here: www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/6bd5763ecaa04a4a87b2ef0053842207.
    The method in this video still works, however, it might be easier to deposit directly in Euro to avoid hassle!
    ⚠️ Please note: your *first* transfer using this method MAY take up to 3-5 business days (excluding weekends). Some report it takes less than an hour, others need to wait a few days. Be patient!
    ⛔️As of 19th Nov 2021, Binance has excluded *some* countries from SWIFT bank transfers i.e. this method. Excluded country list here: bit.ly/binance-19nov-update

    Hi. Just a quick review about your step by step guide.
    I did everything exactly as you said on a Thursday evening Uk time. Money disappeared from my revolut account instantly. It was a bit stressful waiting but the following week Wednesday morning it appeared on my binance account. It took exactly 4 working days or 6 days including the weekends. Yep as you flagged, premium account holders on Revolut get a couple of free international transfers per month (I think the actual number is 2, but can't recall exactly) so thats why you have no international fee. I'd suggest sending your funds in bulk to take full advantage of the free transfers as that will give you the most savings of course!

    • @TheLearningsReport

      Hey Nenko. You can download a statement from Revolut to see those details. For bank name, you can use 'Revolut Payments UAB' (or I'm pretty sure I just used 'Revolut' so either is likely fine'). Then for account number, it's your IBAN. In our case, our IBAN begins with LT but yours may be different depending on where your Revolut account is held.
      If you click the European Union flag beside your balance in your Revolut App (or whatever flag represents your base currency) you will also see a pop up info window with the details mentioned above.

    According to Google response, exchange from crypto to crypto is taxable (let say 1 x BTC to 15 x ETH). Question: How to calculate tax in this occasion? Thank you

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey 21Pixel,
      Thanks a million for the question.
      So, yes, you are correct. 'Exchanging' or 'swapping' one crypto for another is considered a sale from a tax standpoint and if you are in Ireland, you would be liable to CGT if you have made a gain/profit (that is greater than €1,270). Assuming you are in Ireland and given that you pay your taxes in euros, you can calculate the gain based on the Euro value of the 1 BTC at the time of purchase and the 1 BTC at the time of sale/exchange. If you are in a different country, make sure to check the local tax laws. If you made a loss, no tax should be due for CGT. There are separate tax implications for crypto staking
      Linking our videos on CGT and Cryptos Investing in Ireland which will shed more light:

    • @TheLearningsReport

      Hey Ilkin. You shouldn't need to add Bank Name, or at least, we didn't? When adding the account to Revolut, did you switch to the Business Tab instead of 'individual'? Maybe go back through the steps and just double check you've followed each step correctly 👍
      We tested it on both the free plan and the paid plan. The majority of the footage in this video references the free plan. If you did it with a paid plan (and you hadn't exceeded your international transfer limit for the month) you wouldn't need to pay the €0.60 fee we paid in the video.

    Thanks, this is super helpful! Are you sure though the "weekend fee" is for the transfer itself? Isn't that fee there rather for the currency exchange (as you are sending USD from your EUR balance)? If you have USD balance on Revolut, then I think you can transfer it for free.

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks for the question! So the international transfer fee is applied regardless whether you have USD or EUR balance in your Revolut - that's just a charge for sending to a country where the account is different to your own.
      When it comes to the 'weekend' fee, correct, that is only a forex fee, and as you noted - this is only charged if you try to send (for example) USD on the weekend using your EUR balance (as then Revolut will automatically convert to USD and you will get hit with the 0.5% weekend forex charge)
      If (again, for example) we had already converted our EUR to USD during the week, and had USD balance in our account when we went to send to Binance, then the only fee would be the international transfer fee (0.60c in the example in the video).
      Perhaps we didn't make this as clear as we could have in the video, so thanks for flagging!

    Hi guys, great video, however I'm just confused on the actual transfer part. Binance is asking me what is the account the money is coming from. I have a GBP account number in revolut but since I'll be transferring USD, I assume they will instantly convert GBP to USD and the payment will be made from the USD revolut account? If that is the case, all I have for the USD account is IBAN and BIC. Is that what I should use or is it the ones from the GBP account?

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers Antonio. Interesting - so on my Revolut, my IBAN and BIC is the exact same for both the 'EUR' account and 'USD' account. My gut feeling here would be for you to exchange your GBP for USD manually yourself via the exchange function on Revolut (although yes, usually Revolut will just do this automatically when you transfer). Then take the IBAN from your US Revolut account and use that as the account number for the transfer (for example, in Ireland my USD/EUR IBAN begins with LT - and that's what you can see in the video for the part where we show the linked bank account to Binance).
      As always, do your own due dilligence if you're concerned as we haven't done a GBP transfer ourselves personally. Definitely test out the minimum amount first to make sure it goes through, to avoid any unwanted headaches!

      Hmmm, OK we've never heard of anyone doing this. In general it usually takes between 3-5 working days for your funds to land but I would be quite doubtful that the funds would make it with the wrong IBAN. I would reach out to Binance support to check.
      Most likely, your funds will bounce, be returned to your account and you can do it again with the correct IBAN. 👍

      You're welcome, Vania. So as far as we're aware (and at time of writing), Revolut have only been beta testing crypto withdrawals from their platform in the past few months, and I don't believe it's available everywhere yet.
      Once it's implemented, you'll likely be able to withdraw crypto (or at least, BTC) from your Revolut account to an external wallet, such as your Binance exchange wallet.
      I assume there will be a small network fee to pay to do this.
      For now, you'll likely need to sell your crypto on Revolut, send the cash to Binance, and repurchase it if you wish to move it across the two platforms! Remember though, this will likely cause a taxable event in the process, so you might be better off waiting until BTC transfers freom Revolut become available.
      Hope this helps!

    Hi ! I'm very new to this. Trying to make my first ever deposit. Followed everything but it seems like I'm doing some extra stuff and not sure if it's ok ? So, to be clear, the money source is my bank account in my country's currency which is RON ( or LEI , I live in Romania btw ). What I did is deposit RON on my Revolut, then exchanged it for USD and now I'm just a step away from making the actual deposit, however I sadly didn't take the fee into consideration and I'm missing a very small amount ( $0.23 ). By the way, I can report that the fee in my country and today 29th November is 0.7% ( which obviously is still better than 1.8% ! ). I only have 2 questions, but big ones ! 1) Do I really need to convert from RON to USD ? I think I already lost a bit of money there, haven't I ? 2) What is Revolut's "bank name" ? Is it just simply Revolut or something else ? Binance warns me that I need to make sure the bank name is a perfect match. Looking forward to your reply, thanks !

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Tzap,
      Thanks for watching the video!
      Interesting, so Revolut offer a real exchange rate meaning you don't get charged a fee up to a certain limit. However, I think you may get a certain fee to exchange currency on the weekend. Can you see what the rate is now if you try to exchange it?
      1) I'm not sure if Binance will charge you a fee if you send directly in Lei - I imagine there is one if there is for Euro. However this method is only valid for USD so ultimately you would need to get your base currency to USD to avail of it. Have a check and see if you get charged a fee during the weekdays, that might be the issue. If not, you are at least saving 1.1% which is better than nothing!
      More on fees here: www.revolut.com/ro-RO/legal/standard-fees
      2) You can use "Revolut" which is what we used and it worked.
      Let us know how you get on!

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Heya Alan, Ste here - cheers for the comment. To be perfectly honest, I don't have any massive concerns but that may just be some naivety on my part! Although the regulation stuff is concerning, I do think Binance is here to stay and I'm currently happy to hold my funds with them. That being said, 90% + of my crypto holdings are on the platform, and perhaps that might not be the best risk management regardless of how things with Binance go!
      It does look like their leadership is making efforts to appease regulators, and their growth doesn't seem to be slowing down (I read they just secured permission for 3 offices in Dublin?) so I guess for now, and to answer your question directly, no I don't have too many concerns - at least not enough to jump ship. Famous last words... 😅

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey - you're welcome and thanks for the Q. So due to SEPA deposits being suspended (which were free), Binance now charge a 1.8% deposit fee if you send EURO to Binance. By sending USD, you don't need to pay this fee, hence why we suggest the method. If/when SEPA deposits return, then the method should no longer be necessary!

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Karol - thats a great question. My guess would be no (given that it's pretty much a 1:1 equivalent - although, not always). I would think that you can treat your USDT/USDC at face value and then your tax liability would only come into play once you decided to sell the Bitcoin that you swapped into.
      That would be the argument I would make to revenue anyway - but remains to be seen how that would play out!
      Hopefully as time goes by we'll get more transparency from revenue authority on crypto to make these questions a bit easier.

      Yes, Binance SEPA EUR deposits/withdrawals are being re-introduced again across markets now - more information is here: www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/6bd5763ecaa04a4a87b2ef0053842207.
      The method in this video still works, however, it might be easier to deposit directly in Euro to avoid hassle! You will still need to pay whatever Revolut/bank charges that there are for SEPA, however, Binanace won't charge a fee.
      Recommend to compare the fees for both methods and see which one works out cheaper and is easier for you.

    • @TheLearningsReport
      @TheLearningsReport  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Gary - not sure if it's the 'best' way but it's certainly one way! UK users who use Revolut report the method working fine. Monzo seems to have some issues, as for whatever reason they ask for a routing number which may cause some issues.
      I would be wary about using your regular bank, as thats where the hidden fees start hitting you. I can't speak directly for Halifax, but my guess would be they will likely hit you with some sort of transfer charge that removes the benefit of using this method in the first place. Could be wrong, so might be worth trying!

      But if you're transferring USDT to Binance, you can also do that for free. But of course, you wouldn't be able to use Revolut for this. You would just need to withdraw your USDT from whatever wallet or exchange you purchased it on.
      It's worth noting though, that although Binance don't charge to deposit USDT, the exchange you're withdrawing from, likely will! For example, if the example was reversed and you wanted to move USDT from Binance to another exchange, you would need to pay a $1 withdrawal fee (minimal I know) to do so. Plus, you'd also want to include any trading fees you accumulated when acquiring the USDT in the first place.
      Again, it would still work out as very cheap I would imagine, but just worth noting!
