The way she said ' hum roz raat ko izzat beechte hai, saali khatamiz nahi hoti' and how immediately her eyes welled up and expressed the lingering sadness prevalent in her life was such an impeccable moment of acting. Alia really did imbibe the character of Ganga and gangu so well and she understood and expressed the raw emotions that the character was going through. She had a very confident and natural presence on the screen in Gangubai and was every bit the character of Gangubai.
That is the Sanjay Leela Bhansali magic. An absolute master of his craft.

So so beautiful movie. This type film making only possible for Sanjay leela. His maximum movie like a beautiful poetry. I watch this movie twice. Alia is superb. She is the actress like Madhu bala Me ena Kumar I waheeda Rahman. She is so young but in this young age her acting surprised all. Maybe in future we will see her more more beautiful performance. Very few movie like Gangubai in industry. This film is like a masterpiece.

The flexibility of Alia Bhatt is incredible. She starred in two polar opposite roles released in the same year. In Brahmāstra she was the ordinary damsel in distress whose only role was to scream for her man throughout the film (which she also slayyed) and then in Gangubai Kathiawadi she is the fiercely independent woman who doesn't need any man. Love Alia. Not all star kids are bad if they show true talent and passion for their craft.
