Jamie, when my husky started to get older and struggled to get into our small suv, I knew I needed to do something. She had had a benign tumor on her abdomen and she needed surgery. I knew I'd not be able to lift her up in the suv afterwards and no way was I going to have her try to jump. That day while she was in surgery I trade the suv for a small, lower, 4 for sedan. I got a hammock to put over the back seat to keep her secure and I had already been using a sling around her to assist her in jumping and walking. Best decision I ever made, was not upset once about losing the suv. She was now happy and safe in the back seat, could stretch out, turn around and lay down comfortably and the hammock kept her secure. Best decision I ever made for her.
Our husky had the same problem. One morning he collapsed on his morning walk and he couldn’t stand without a harness. The vet said it could be six months before he got better. My husband brought a red light therapy pad from Amazon…the good one, not the cheap one. Within days we saw improvement and soon we could walk him with just the leash again! It was amazing. Maybe it would help Sherpa. 😊
I love how your life revolves around Sherpa's comfort and happiness. It's the same with me. People started judging me for how I was grieving her because, "she's just a dog," and/or "get a new dog," a couple people said just 2 days after she passed that I needed therapy because I was being irrational over grieving a dog (literally within 48 hours, like I should have been over it). I was floored at how insensitive people were. To me, she was more than "just a dog," she was my best friend, my baby girl (I loved her as much as my human babies), she loved me unconditionally which was something I hadn't had much of and she healed so much childhood trauma by loving me the way she did so she was my healer and my soul mate (not in a weird way, just in a way that her soul spoke to mine and she was my family). She also belonged to my dad before he passed in 2016 so it felt like I had a piece of him with me through her. The last two years of her life I had to pick her up onto and off of furniture, like my bed, my son's bed and the couch and into/out of the car despite me having arthritis and it hurting me I did it anyway because she deserved to be able to be comfortable. She was part husky and part whippet so she wasn't a small dog but I'd have done anything for her. I know Sheep's is bigger so I get why Jamie is trying to come up with a better solution than just lifting him up, hopefully he finds the best solution, he loves Sherpa in the same way I will always love my girl 💛 I still miss her every day and people still judge me every time I share an old photo of her or talk about missing her but I now just feel sorry for those people because they have never experienced the kind of love those of us who know that they are more than "just a dog," have experienced. Oh, bless you, dear Sherpa. I’m 74 and trying to get in and out of my son’s car is a nightmare. He said they’re called bucket seats but I’ll let you guess what I call them! 🤣 Love you, Sherpa. ❤
There's nothing wrong with Sherpy's appetite. I have to say that the dishes you prepare for yourself look very good, better than the average bachelor's fare.
I love watching Sherpa. I had a Australian shepherd, 16 and half years, he passed away in September 2023. He loved bye-bye, he also had problems with his back legs so I kept him home. Sorry to say he went down hill in 4 months, he became bedridden, I could not put him down so I took care of him to the end. It's sad we love our dogs but they do go home to the Lord. Bless you two.
Poor Sherpa. It’s hard getting old, I know I just turned 70. Hugs to Sherpa from me and my Lucy. Sorry to say but it looks like it’s time for little Red to be rehomed. Best for Sherpa. I vote bigger for Sherpa. Make sure you take him to try out the new car. I have large van mostly for Lucy. It’s a 350 transit van.
Getting old is definitely not fun. I’m 70 and my legs just don’t want to work anymore. I can’t even climb steps. It takes me 2 or 3 attempts to get out of my recliner. 😂 I’ve always heard these are the golden years, but so far I haven’t seen anything golden about them.
Clean up Little Red to get the best trade in value and get a vehicle that's best for Sherpa. Little Red was originally purchased for Sherpa's behalf but now his needs have changed...❤🐶
So, Sherpa’s comfort and happiness is everything to us all. Any kind of larger convertible would do the trick-even if you have to bring a little step stool for him. Aww, beautiful Sherpa. You are loved by everyone. ❤
Sherpa's happiness is definitely paramount for all of us. I wish I had the answer but I don't. You are the best dad, Jamie. You'll do anything for Sherpie. The absolute best dad ever.
Some people might call you crazy Jamie, but no one on here will. I can’t imagine leaving Sherpa in pain for hours while traveling! Really no idea what type of vehicle you should get, but it’s time. ❤️🇨🇦
I know that you will find the right vehicle for Sherpa. He loves the Mini, but if he would be more comfortable in something else, he would be happier. Hugs for you both.💜💜💜
Living in the USA, I have a 2004 Jeep, but keep the back seat flat with the other passenger seat the regular way. Once inside the dog has the entire back behind the front seats, to lie down in. My friend's car had a ramp to get up into the back of the car, while holding the dog's harness as you do Sherpa's It was collapsible, the ramp, and fit in the back seat by the tailgate
Thank you for asking our advice. But my opinion is I feel you need expert advice from an orthopedic vet for your baby. He already hesitates and doesn't want to walk up the very low level steps at your back door. Since I'm not a vet I can only give you my advice from having 2 adult disabled doggies. The first 1 I adopted was an already elderly disabled doggy. He couldn't really see and was afraid to jump up anywhere. One time he nearly killed himself jumping blindly off of a step landing. I lifted him to sleep with me on my bed. But he only weighed about 12 lbs. I feel very soon you will have to lift Sherpa's back side and legs into any vehicle. A mini car won't work no matter how much he loves it. I suggest a lift for your big heavy baby. Your back will finally give out lifting him every day everywhere. My second doggy I had as a puppy to 18 years of age. I finally had to lift him into my car, up steps, and into bed. But again, he only weighed 12 lbs. Buy a vehicle not for the next car or what Sherpa would like, but what will be long lasting and filling Sherpa's needs to his last walking and non walking days. It's just reality. But, what a beautiful wonderful happy companion you have. He adores you. It's just that physically his walking ability is declining fast. Prayers for you both.
Oh poor sherpa I agree he need to happy a comfortable all the time I hope you find the right decision his fans all over the world will sending all the love to him make him happy 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗and you Jamie 😍😍😍
When my elderly dog was having hip problems, I found a 2-door car like Little Red was much better than a 4-door car, so keep that in mind as you look at options. The issue with 4-door was that the floor was difficult to jump onto, since the floor is right next to the door hinge not leaving enough space. With a 2-door car and the front seat moved forward, the rear floor was immediately accessible to jump to.
We understand what you're saying, Jamie. The people at Hydro - are they animal experts? They will have seen a lot and know a lot. The vet too, will have experience of every kind of animal handicap. Perhaps they might have good ideas for you and Sherpa? We really are feeling how difficult this is for both of you. ❤❤ 🐾
Or help him with a sling like someone memtioned they had done for their dog. He really loves the mini, looking out of the windows and for days without the top on.
Whenever it's time to say goodbye, it's also a new beginning and we all know that everything is there to make it comfortable for Sherpy to get started. Thank you LilRed for all the rides you did for Jamie and Sherpa. Chef's dinner looks amazing as always. I hope you enjoyed it. I am very confident that Jamie and Sherps will make the right decision about the car. A great video even if a bit sad. Goodbye LilRed😞 have a lovely Sunday Buddy💙😊
Yes, it's sad. The car has a name, it's a sweet name, and a job--to keep Sherpa enjoying life, and Jamie too, so yeah....like a little important "person". I hope the next owner learns it's backstory❤
Sherpa's comfort is a very important consideration. We all want him to be happy. A bigger convertible would be good. Take Sherpa with you when go looking at cars. You need to check if he's able to get on the seat and if it's big enough for him to lay down comfortably. I'm sure if you tell them what the problem is, they'll let Sherpa try the cars out for size. I hope you find something suitable soon. 🐕💖
Oh Sherp. I can SO relate to being uncomfortable while aging. You have the best dog dad in the world. In the meantime, try a towel as a sling wrapped in front of his hind legs to help him get up on the back seat. Love you both. ❤❤
I'm sad that Little Red no longer serves Sherpa or you as well as it used to, Jamie. 😢 Hopefully, hydro will help him regain his range of motion. Wishes for you both to find the best solution. I hope everyone has a good week.
Jamie, I know that whatever you choose, you will do so with Sherpa's welfare foremost in mind. I am very grateful that you are so invested in Sherpa's comfort and well-being. You brought this lovely dog to our attention, and you keep this lovely dog as healthy as you can. Again, I have only gratitude. Tell us if we can help in any way.
I went from a 2 door to a 4 door sedan. Then I finally got an SUV. It was and still is the best decision I ever made. The dog(s) love it. Putting the backseat down gives them so much more room. They have beds in the back and can move around to get comfortable. Good luck in your decision. My vote would be the countryman as the replacement for Sherpa. In RED of course.
When my husky was almost 16 to help her back legs on the stairs it was recommended that we use a towel around her back end to help take the weight off. Similar idea to the handle on Sherpa’s harness but for back leg assistance. There may be fancier options out there available than a towel. Unfortunately, there may be no comfort in long car rides for him. Non slip padding over some extra cushioning? His joy in the mini is something so precious!
It's a hard reality when it all starts with our precious ones. My poor sweet Sherpa, 😢 thank you for always taking excellent care of him Jamie.❤❤ PS A convertible is nice, but most importantly an easy and comfortable in/ out for him as you already know. Our precious sweet ones. Thank you for all you do for Sherpa. Here to support you and Sherpa always!❤
Suzuki Jimny soft top - rear seats come out easily so he’d have all the space he needs, roof comes up and down so you don’t have the Jeep issue, you’d just need one of those folding ramps for him!
It seems that Sherpa now does need more room to lie down and a bigger space to access the car. Maybe an estate car (medium red)? As much as Sherpa enjoys having the roof down, it may be worth sacrificing that aspect so he is more comfortable…as long as he can stick his head out of the window 😊.
You could always put a folded old quilt or stack of old towels on the floor so the step isn't as steep. And please, put a blanket over the back seats to make it comfy for Sherps! This way, you can keep lil Red! 😀
Used to help my Barkley (huskamute) into the car because of his back legs. Ask your vet about Cartrophen or Librella monthly injections. In Canada, it's not that expensive. Watching Sherpa always makes me think of Barkley. Also, you can get a backseat cover for pets that hooks on the back of the back seat and on the back of the front seats creating a sort of cradle that prevents a dog from falling into the floor incase you have to stop suddenly.
Jamie, in addition to hydrotherapy they can do acupuncture and red light therapy as well as exercising. ❤ There is a channel called "The farm" and they take a few of their dogs to a Dr named Neil and that is what he does. I think Sherpa baby has just gotten really stiff since he has been unable to go to the other place. Much 💕 Love. Cindy
Jamie, i know you, being the incredible doggy Dad, that you are, you will make the best decision for Sherpa and his comfort and safety. Jamie you are just so sweet and accommodating wherever Sherpa is concerned. I wish you the absolute best with whatever you decide to do. I would go with the bigger Mini if i were in your situation. Sherpa, being the Lord that he is deserves the best. Take care. Much love. Have a great Sunday. ❤️ ❤🫂💋🐺🧔
Like us all Sherpa is getting older . He loves little red, but the van looks like it's more suitable for him . He can move around and lie down more comfortably, and you have steps up to it . I've been there with my own airdale terriers
You're not the only one. When we shopped for a new car it had to be not too high to the back tailgate and had to have enough head room for our dog to stand up .
You always do the best for Sherpa, Jamie. Would love to see Sherpa get another convertible, he loves it so. You will make the best decision Jamie, you’re such a good Dad. ❤❤
@@SherpasDay Sherpa does but if your unable to get another convertible I think Sherpa with be happy with more room and having the window rolled down and looking out. Most importantly, Jamie, Sherpa just enjoys being with you and he knows you will make it the most comfortable for him.
G'day Sherpa & Jamie, Yeah that back & forth before getting in the Van or on the Mini back seat shows Sherpie is struggling with his confidence using his back legs, I hope when he starts Hydro again it really helps not only with his leg strength but also his confidence.
Jamie, we all know how much you love Sherpa. We can only love him from afar. It sounds like it's time to say good bye to little red. He needs space to lie down, possibly with a soft dog bed. The compromise may be between space, ease of entry, window to look out of and a convertible. I know you will make the right choice. I'm sure you are aware that there are also harnesses specifically designed to help you lift Sherpa's rear end in addition to the one he wears now (rear support harness). I know you will do what's best for him. ❤
Glad you rambled about it. He's got a good dog dad. I've been watching you two, for a long time. It's hard watching our guys getting older. Good hunting.
Jaime, I wish every human cared for their four-legged children like you do for Sherpa. We ended up trading our Mini in for a larger vehicle, it was getting difficult for all of us to get in and out of.
Absolutely. When Mom and I had Sadie, she was our top priority. Everything we did revolved around making sure she was well taken care of. We would have moved Heaven and Earth for her. Hope you’re doing well Lori. Our snow finally melted and it was 68 degrees Friday.
I did the same thing and my baby was just as happy in the new car as she was the old one, And I was able to keep her safe in a 4 door as well. I hope Jamie is able to find what suits them both ❤
Whilst you still have little red you could stuff pillows or blankets behind the front seats up to the level of the back seats. This means if his paws/legs naturally want to "fall off" the seat, it can rest on the pillows, creating extra room. Not sure if that will work but just wanted to throw out that option. Bless you for thinking of his health and happiness, I totally understand that our furry companions mean the world.
They make foam inserts to put behind the front seats in front of the back seat to extend the seat. They are a sturdy foam so they don’t collapse easily. I have them and they work great. They come out easily and are easy to put back in.
Jamie it’s so heartwarming how much you love Sherpa and how well you take care of him.I know you will find a vehicle that will suit his needs and will fit your life.
Somewhere, somehow there will be a perfect car for Sherpa and acceptable for you, Jamie. There is nothing more important that the comfort of our beloved fur-babies.
Jamie, I understand your car dilemma. I got a ramp to use for my aging collie to get into the back of my station wagon, and it worked well for us. I also found the "Help ''em Up" harness to be absolutely fantastic helping with his hind leg weakness. It has a lifter portion for the hind side in addition to the front. It's almost like an exoskeleton, and they can wear it basically all day long. I encourage you to check into that. Good luck with the car decision... I don't think I've bought a car for myself in decades; all purchased for the dogs. 😊
Sherpa is so lucky to have you looking after all his needs. I owned a Jeep for many years; I loved the way it looked and the way it drove but the reliability of Jeeps is very poor and I spent a lot of money keeping it running. It's not just me. They are known for being unreliable!
For a short-term solution, you could fill the spaces with pillows/cushions once Sherpa is in the car. I know that it only adds maybe 6-8 inches, but it should be enough for him to get more comfortable. He still has the windows and open roof that he loves. The pillows/cushions would be small enough not to take up a lot of space when not in use.
@@SherpasDay Jamie, you might also want to try to tuck away the seatbelt buckles as I'm they are digging into his side when he tries to lay down. I think removing the front seat and placing cushions or thick padding down will help immensely for him getting up onto the back seat. This would also give you room to have a small stool for him to use to get into lil-red and with front seat gone the stool could be placed in it's spot.
Oh Sherpy, it's so sad that you're getting older, God Bless you sweet boy! I do think a bigger convertible would be ideal but which one is the question. Little red was a great car for him but I can see that not being able to stretch out on a long drive would be a problem for him. I'm sure you'll figure out the best thing for him Jamie. Hope you're doing well. Hugs to both of you! ♥
@@SherpasDay Yeah, I'm sure it is. What about a Jeep soft top where you can remove it but have it with you in case it rains. Not as easy as clicking a button though. You'll figure out the best option that works for both of you I'm sure. ♥
Hi, Jamie. Could you try filling the footwell with a couple of folded beach towels or something? This means that Sherpa wouldn't have to step over the door sill into the 'dip' - it would be more or less level with the door sill. It would also mean that he wouldn't have to hop up so far to the back seat. If it works, maybe you could think of something better and more permanent than folded towels.
Google comfort glide wedges and see if the measurements match your back seat floor. They're $60 a pair here in the US. You may even be able to use one of them as a little ramp from the floor to the bsckseat and then use it/them as an extension of the backseat. My husband used them for positioning during a long hospital stay. They're durable and easy to clean.
There is a lot of good suggestions here, i really hope you can find a solution for dear Sherpas ease and comfort, bless his heart. Love you so much beautiful boy 💙💙🐾🐾
I don't drive so I'm not sure. Take him with you and measure him against any car you think of. Lol. I'm sure the salespeople will love having such a star in their showroom. 😂❤❤
Jamie, for the past few months I’ve thought that he shouldn’t be going in little red as he clearly struggles and now you say he isn’t comfortable, and just listening to you in the first half of the video, you answered your own question that you should get a bigger car so Sherpa has more room and is comfortable
I think that Sherpa's comfort would be absolutely important and you have to do what is best for him. So just follow your heart Jamie and if it means getting something that makes it easier for Sherpa then you got to do what you got do. Maybe there is a bigger version of little red out there.
It's unfortunate that you'll probably have to say goodbye to Lil Red, but as you say, Sherpa's comfort at this stage is the top priority. I remember the episode where you introduced us all to Lil Red, and I commented at that time about how regal Lord Sherpa looked in his little red chariot, with the wind blowing through his luxurious mane! Oh well, we all need to make adjustments as we age. I know i have had to in recent years. How about a Jeep Wrangler with a sunroof for Sherpie to look out of. You could put a few fluffy pillows in the backseat to help raise him high enough. Just a thought.
I just bought my dog a 2023 Subaru Outback. He even lets me drive….sometimes. ❤
😂😂 cute, love this ^^^^^ 😂

@@minnaviklund330 really why would you feel you had to make that comment. No need .
@@minnaviklund330 Wow. Harsh.
So sorry for your loss. Fun breed. When I was born my parents had two male Australian Shepherds named Pat and Mike, after the Tracy & Hepburn classic.
Mine passed away in November and she was 18... still miss her so much... so I feel you... ❤
I love how you consider Sherpa's needs. Poor Sherpie. It's too hard for him now.
Yea he definitely needs bigger 😢
Getting old is definitely not fun. I’m 70 and my legs just don’t want to work anymore. I can’t even climb steps. It takes me 2 or 3 attempts to get out of my recliner. 😂 I’ve always heard these are the golden years, but so far I haven’t seen anything golden about them.
They have hip and joint medicine for dogs
I agree a bigger car 🚙 for Sherpa
I agree a bigger car 🚙 for Sherpa
Jamie, get the bigger convertable for Sherpa. I love your Channel.
Clean up Little Red to get the best trade in value and get a vehicle that's best for Sherpa. Little Red was originally purchased for Sherpa's behalf but now his needs have changed...❤🐶
Yea totally agree Steve
So, Sherpa’s comfort and happiness is everything to us all. Any kind of larger convertible would do the trick-even if you have to bring a little step stool for him. Aww, beautiful Sherpa. You are loved by everyone. ❤
Sherpa's happiness is definitely paramount for all of us. I wish I had the answer but I don't. You are the best dad, Jamie. You'll do anything for Sherpie. The absolute best dad ever.
Jamie, you are a great father. Whatever you decide will be the right choice in the long run.
I'm looking forward to the debut of "medium red." 😂Best of luck in your search for a solution, Jamie. Sherpa deserves all the best (and so do you.)
😂😂 thankyou
Midi-red? 🤔
Middle Red.
Some people might call you crazy Jamie, but no one on here will. I can’t imagine leaving Sherpa in pain for hours while traveling! Really no idea what type of vehicle you should get, but it’s time. ❤️🇨🇦
Poor Sherpa! Dad just wants you to always be happy. I hope your legs start feeling better, Sherp! 🐾❤️🐾
Sherpa does love his mini though, you can see how excited he is to get to it when you go to leave.
I know that you will find the right vehicle for Sherpa. He loves the Mini, but if he would be more comfortable in something else, he would be happier. Hugs for you both.💜💜💜
Yea definitely 😊
Living in the USA, I have a 2004 Jeep, but keep the back seat flat with the other passenger seat the regular way. Once inside the dog has the entire back behind the front seats, to lie down in. My friend's car had a ramp to get up into the back of the car, while holding the dog's harness as you do Sherpa's
It was collapsible, the ramp, and fit in the back seat by the tailgate
You can only do what is best for Sherpa, you’re his chauffeur after all. 😂
We all need Sherpa being happy all the time ❤
Definitely do 😊

@@SherpasDay ahh Jamie and Sherpa. is it maybe the colder/wetter season, some?

We've got hydro again in a few days so I'll have a good chat with them
Perhaps you could put something on the floor so the gap to the seat isn’t so high?
Or help him with a sling like someone memtioned they had done for their dog. He really loves the mini, looking out of the windows and for days without the top on.
I didn’t see the whole video, sorry. I wasn’t aware he can’t rest wellin the mini now.

That's the reason why we changed our small car to a 4 door ,much easier for our old dogs to get in and out.
Goodbye LilRed😞
have a lovely Sunday Buddy💙😊
It'll be sooo sad 😩, we love littlered 😢
Yes, it's sad. The car has a name, it's a sweet name, and a job--to keep Sherpa enjoying life, and Jamie too, so yeah....like a little important "person". I hope the next owner learns it's backstory❤
There are handicap vans that have a ramp which opens out from the rear. No issues being blocked in on the sides. We have one here in USA.
Yea we'll make the next one work great too tho 😊
Dog mobility support sling. Is an easy way to help our older dogs get in and out of vehicles.
Aw thankyou so much 💙
I went from a 2 door to a 4 door sedan.
Jaimie we know how difficult these transitions are for you. My heart goes out for both of you. ❤
Yea I'm doing my best 😢
@SherpasDay Yes you are!!
@@SherpasDay You are the BEST DOG DAD ever Jamie. Sherpa is Blessed to have you!!!
Suzuki Jimny soft top - rear seats come out easily so he’d have all the space he needs, roof comes up and down so you don’t have the Jeep issue, you’d just need one of those folding ramps for him!
Could the passenger seat possibly be reworked so thay it could lie flat for Sherpa? Best of luck, Jamie! Love you sweet, sweet Sherpa! ❤❤❤
Jamie the countryman sounds like a good compromise. They have a sunroof. You can research a midsized convertible.
Or the Skoda Yeti too look ideal.
We do everything to make our small dogs comfortable. Nothing wrong with loving our puppies
My husky was the same, I dropped the back seats down and put a small dog mattress in for him !! He found it easier to get in the back door!!
It's sad isn't it 😢
@@SherpasDay Yes it definitely is difficult to watch them getting older but Im sure you'll make the right decision for Sherpy, hes a beauty ❤️🙏👑
Thankyou I'll ask them about that 😊
Jamie, in addition to hydrotherapy they can do acupuncture and red light therapy as well as exercising. ❤ There is a channel called "The farm" and they take a few of their dogs to a Dr named Neil and that is what he does. I think Sherpa baby has just gotten really stiff since he has been unable to go to the other place. Much 💕 Love. Cindy
I’m sure whatever you figure out, Sherpa will be the happiest boy ever. ❤ You’re a wonderful dad.❤
I think the van works best because you can help him in and out and he has lots of space to move about.
Yea its an option 🤔
Sherpa loves his window though tooooooo …
@@jenniferwillcox I know😕
But he likes to put his head out the window and he likes the roof that goes down
Just pick him and put him in like any other person does when their dog gets older.

Jamie you are just so sweet and accommodating wherever Sherpa is concerned. I wish you the absolute best with whatever you decide to do. I would go with the bigger Mini if i were in your situation. You are such a good dad to Sherpie Jamie, you are one of a kind!
He really loves the convertible doesn't he 😢
@@SherpasDay Sherpa does but if your unable to get another convertible I think Sherpa with be happy with more room and having the window rolled down and looking out. Most importantly, Jamie, Sherpa just enjoys being with you and he knows you will make it the most comfortable for him.
G'day Sherpa & Jamie,
Yeah that back & forth before getting in the Van or on the Mini back seat shows Sherpie is struggling with his confidence using his back legs, I hope when he starts Hydro again it really helps not only with his leg strength but also his confidence.
You do you the best for Sherpa all the time. I am sure you will make the right decision!
It's difficult but I'm trying 😢

Its not just you many of us pick our car with our 4 legged best friend in mind.
Yes, Sherpa needs more car space especially for his hips
Maybe rent a few different cars and test them out with Sherpa ❤
Like you Jamie, I would always put my dog first for comfort and safety in a car. xxx
Agree with you Jamie as I have noticed Sherpa struggle getting into the mini in last good few videos 😢….. hope you get something sorted soon
I understand. I actually traded my car in for a car that I could get my sweet old black lab in. Best decision ever. ❤❤
I did the same thing and my baby was just as happy in the new car as she was the old one, And I was able to keep her safe in a 4 door as well. I hope Jamie is able to find what suits them both ❤
Hope you find something fun and suitable for you both xx
Definitely 😊
I remember the first video with shepa in the canoe Shepa about as old as me I'm 64 you've been together forever
I'll have a look, haha yes it's always for the dogs 😂
Yea thats an idea
@@SherpasDay Jamie, you might also want to try to tuck away the seatbelt buckles as I'm they are digging into his side when he tries to lay down. I think removing the front seat and placing cushions or thick padding down will help immensely for him getting up onto the back seat. This would also give you room to have a small stool for him to use to get into lil-red and with front seat gone the stool could be placed in it's spot.
❤❤❤ what we do for our fur kid's
Oh Sherpy, it's so sad that you're getting older, God Bless you sweet boy! I do think a bigger convertible would be ideal but which one is the question. Little red was a great car for him but I can see that not being able to stretch out on a long drive would be a problem for him. I'm sure you'll figure out the best thing for him Jamie. Hope you're doing well. Hugs to both of you! ♥
It's so hard to find one 😢
Just like the new house a new car will be fun and a new adventure. Sherpa your the best❤ I love the picture at the start of the Vidieo 🥰🐾🐾
I guarantee it's not just you Jamie...we did that for our girls years ago!
There is a lot of good suggestions here, i really hope you can find a solution for dear Sherpas ease and comfort, bless his heart.

Great idea. That way, you also know how comfortable it will be for him to get in and out since he probably also has depth perception issues.
Haha yea I've been doing that haha
Jamie, for the past few months I’ve thought that he shouldn’t be going in little red as he clearly struggles and now you say he isn’t comfortable, and just listening to you in the first half of the video, you answered your own question that you should get a bigger car so Sherpa has more room and is comfortable
Aww that shame sherpa loves his little red. Hope it get sorted and it easy for sherpa
I know it's such a shame 😢
❤❤❤ we know you will do right by Sherpa
Sherpas happiness is most important, you do what you think is best, as long as he is happy that’s the main thing ❤️🏴
If he’s having issues climbing into a Mini, how would he ever get into a Wrangler?
@brucebeauvais1324 The same step stool he uses in the van.
Yes do what is needed for him to be happy! Its heartbreaking to say, but he wont be around forever. Best to see to his comfort.
