      There lies the "RUB". Being the last wife and the happiest marriage the King EVER HAD. Is going to be problematic. This is what Princess 👑 Diana would have faced had she not bern murdered. It's one thing to be beloved in your home country. But to be beloved WORLDWIDE puts you in RARE STRATIFICATION. Who can compete with the hearts of the whole world 🤔🤨😮.

And Abdullah refuses, still, to release Hamzah even though Hamzah relinquished the title of Crown Prince, the title that King Hussein gave to Hamzah. Plainly, Abdullah is a criminal, as well as a petty, vindictive, insecure tyrant. Despite Jordan's vast wealth, Abdullah allows the people of Jordan to live in abject poverty. This is the condition that Hamzah had spoken against publicly prior to Abdullah having him arrested. It's been many months, by now, since Hamzah was even seen in public. I pray for Hamzah's safety and protection, and I pray for his dear mother, Queen Noor.

    They're both lovely women. However, they are Queen consorts (not Queen Monarchs). They're time as a queen lasts so long as their husbands are alive. When the previous King, Noor's husband, passed, she would have stopped being the queen at that point. That makes the current King's wife, Rania, the legitimate and current Queen consort of Jordan. Noor is not a monsrch, so she needs to understand and accept this fact and step back. Again, despite how lovely she is. It's surprising that this has been an issue.

    • @juniper617
      @juniper617 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      But that’s normal. She’s a Dowager Queen now. Queen Sofia of Spain is still called Queen even though her husband abdicated and her son the King has a wife, Queen Laetizia. In the UK the late Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother was the widowed mother of the late Elizabeth II. Only if you divorce the king do you stop being Queen. But still, Noor probably should have deferred more to her daughter-in-law as the reigning Queen Consort. I can’t say I have any insight into the situation between Noon’s son and the current King. I doubt anyone outside of the country really does. But King Hussein wanted Hamzah to succeed Abdullah, so of course it’s a disappointment for them.

    • @tammylewis2408
      @tammylewis2408 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Queen Noor is the Queen Mother, much like when Queen Elizabeth II assumed the throne from her late father, her mother, Elizabeth, the Queen Consort, became the Queen Mother. Charles is now King Charles, and his second wife Camilla is the Queen Consort, and when Charles dies, she will be the Queen Mother (like it or not), while Princess Catherine will be the new Queen Consort. Diana was forced to give up that future right as Queen Consort when she and Charles divorced. Abdulla/Hamzah = William/Harry - the heir and the spare fighting; that's another story in itself. Noor was being a concerned mother for her children, especially where her eldest son was concerned. She and her husband had a great marriage and treated each other with respect. People have to remember that she lived in a country where women are considered second-class citizens and had to deal with children from previous marriages. She fought to change the status of women, and it paved the way for Raina. The feud boils down to the brothers, both having different visions for Jordan, traditional (Abdullah) vs. progressive (Hamzah). people shouldn't blame Noor for all of this, she and Raina are strong women, and instead of fighting, both women should band together to bring changes to Jordan, and restore family unity. To read people saying that Noor doesn't want to give up being Queen is silly, she is the Queen Mother, that should at least bring respect as an elder statesperson and ambassador.

    • @juniper617
      @juniper617 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      @@tammylewis2408 The Queen Mother is the mother of the monarch. Noor is not Abdullah’s mother, but his stepmother. She’s a Dowager Queen, the widow of a previous monarch. In the unlikely event that Camilla outlives Charles (she is older than he is; her parents died younger than his did; and she’s in poorer health than he is-so I wouldn’t assume she’ll outlive him) she would also become Dowager Queen. She is not William’s mother and I can’t imagine that William would allow her to be called that. (Or that she would even want to be called that. She has children, and William is not one of them.) All of these titles are Courtesy Titles, not governed by any statute, so William would absolutely have a say.

      Usually in ME the crown goes through the sons of a founder.... So if the founder of the country had 20 sons they inherit by order of age so it goes from (half) brother to (half) brother. After all the sons are done it's by appointment. Usually a son of the last king but could be any prince. But it could also go from father to son from the start, but no need to be the oldest son. There is no clear rule like in Europe and polygamy makes the choices unlimited. The middle east kingdoms are fresh kingdoms. So they usually have a polygamous founder and his 20 sons take presecedence over his 40 grandsons, but it varies. The late sultan of oman had no sons.

      If Noor had controlled herself when Hamza was placed under house arrest, I think things might be different. However, she posted a tweet that, by implication, accused King Abdullah of perpetrating “wicked slander”. She later posted another tweet (both of these are quoted in the video) that clearly was intended as a negative comment about Abdullah’s treatment of Hamzah. Under the circumstances, her absence from the wedding makes sense.

    King Hussain had fewer wives than King Henry VIII. However, he had more children. A primo geniture system gave King Hussain's firstborn the succession and the fourth wife's eldest son was way down in line. However, the rules in Jordan were different. Until the very end of King Hussain's life, his younger brother was the Crown Prince. On his deathbed, the King changed the rule and made Abdulla, his firstborn, his Crown Prince and successor. It is recorded that Queen Noor tried her best to position her firstborn as successor but she lost the battle of succession. It is surprising that King Abdulla did not banish Queen Noor and her children as soon as he became King, and waited until a coup prompted his action to arrest his half-brother. The Dowager Queen still enjoys a comfortable life abroad. Actions have consequences.

    What the vast majority of the posters don't understand is that the tradition in the Middle East is NOT that the eldest son of the current King becomes the next king, as is the case in the west. Often, instead, it is that the crown passes to the brother of the current King, usually a child of another mother. It is done to pacify the families which married into the royal household. Queen Noor's and her son's problem is that as an American she had no Jordanian family. That's why Abdullah felt he could get away with changing the custom.
