    Just bought a bottle today in Japan. We also get the Takara Red Blantons that's exclusive to Japan since they bought the distillery.

    I bought several bottles of Gold and SFTB while on vacation. I shared some bottles with bourbon friends but kept 2 Golds and 2 SFTB for myself. I have been sipping on a Gold for most of the year. It is so much better than the normal single barrel that I hate to run out and be aware of that deliciousness out there but unattainable to me. I also bought a Black but I paid top dollar for it so I am saving it for a special occasion...like trading for a couple of bottles that I love. Great reviews! Keep up the good work!

      Gimmie a sample of the god damn gold. A sample might not be good enough. I know damn well how delicious it probably is and given the opportunity I would chugg the living fuck out of it.

    My understanding is that the all the Buffalo Trace mashbill #2 products (Ancient Age, Blanton's, Elmer T. Lee, Rock Hill Farms, Hancock) are owned by a company called Age International. Age International was originally a U.S. company that bought the Ancient Age brand in the 80's with the intent of selling in foreign markets. Bourbon sales in the U.S. were at a low point. They created the Blanton's brand specifically for the Japanese market. Age International was sold to the Japanese in the early 90's and the Japanese owners immediately sold the distillery to Sazerac but kept the brand trademarks. Buffalo Trace makes and distributes it in the U.S. but they don't really control the brand. I'm sure if they did Blanton's Gold and SFTB would be available in the U.S.

    Great job fellas! I’m also on the list of people who have to grab a bottle of
    Gold and SFTB one day! Nice to hear your positive review of Gold! Cheers!🥃👍

    Hey guys, after bemoaning allocation I may have just stumbled upon a bottle of this. I can’t agree more with you on the bottle design. BT does a lot of things right, including marketing, so this bottle is puzzling. The gold topper is the same as my old t-ball trophy! 🤪 Great content. Thanks for this!

    The Blanton's bottle sucks for pouring, but is great for drinking straight out of.

    Gold is my hands down favourite, SFTB is too hot for my pallet and regular Blanton’s is too thin but the Gold sits just right. (And Green is just brown water FYI)

    I have several bottles including gold and SFTB however I think for a daily the Blantons Black is very nice. Being in Japan I can get it any day of the week so stocking up.

      I was reading this like who the heck just has Blanton's black sitting around... Makes sense of you're in Japan though.

    I just traded a 750 ML bottle for 2 Russell's Reserve Store Picks, would have gone for that Black Label Pingree to. Will have to wait probably 4-6 months before the LCBO gets it back in. .

    Fellas,
    Would you trade a Full Proof for a gold? You guys got me curious about this bottle but not sure how I feel about that trade.

    • @BourbonJunkies
      @BourbonJunkies  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I probably wouldn't. Unless you're sitting on a couple full proof and really want to try gold.

    Sounds like a real nice one. The standard is nice and I like the nose best but don't understand all the CONTINUED hype. People still go crazy for the Blantons and many places pricing at $99. CRAZY! By the way, how was the Glenfarclas 12 during GoT last night? I was ENJOYING an Aberlour a'bunadh while watching, kindalike the ECBP, but scotch. Cheers!

    • @BourbonJunkies
      @BourbonJunkies  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually a big fan of the Glenfarclas 12. It has a little spikey harshness that made me like it even more.

    • @djbeacon6895
      @djbeacon6895 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BourbonJunkies The Glenfarclas 12 is one of my favorites too, like that thick and oily texture. Just the right amount of sherry. Damn good value, right up there with Glendronach 12.

      @BourbonJunkies  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can the international market have at least one special bourbon release that the US don’t get, since we don’t get anything else? By the way, not to rub it in, just finished my 131.6 Proof straight from the Barrel.... 😜
