I was about to comment on my favorite autumn watch and lo and behold you mentioned my Grand Seiko! I’ve had it for a year and can report it’s as versatile and beautiful as you say.

I think that cream coloured Grand Seiko is a beautiful one and done. Works for all occasions.

Recently picked up a Mark XX as my first luxury watch in my mid 40s. Highly recommend! :D

You’re absolutely correct about the Omega 300M size. It’s also really far too thick, and I don’t find the rubber straps or bracelet luxurious. The Grand Seiko watches are just beautiful, and I am lusting after the “white birch” after trying one on in Japan. I own the Seiko Sarb033 and much like the white dial variant it is very versatile and makes me think a GS watch would be a great investment.

Another great video on a topic well worth re-visiting at regular intervals for any chap! Thanks for this. May I offer my solution to longstanding Omega lust was to find a good vintage Seamaster. 1958. Elegant and dressy, not sporty. Very fair, cost wise.

Excellent suggestions. I would go for that Grand Seiko out of that bunch. I would add the Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve as a dress watch. And the watch I just picked out for myself, the Baume & Mercier Riviera in the blue sapphire dial. Both watches are around $4,000 US.

Longines Spirit Zulu would also be a great option. A pilot style watch with the GMT complication for under 3000 GBP in steel and just over in titanium.

Great video Ash with solid recommendations. My wrist is 6.25 inches and I refuse to go over 40 or 48 (lug to lug). That grand seiko isn’t usually what I opt for, being that I love tool watches, ie, divers. But it was something about that watch that caught my attention. BTW, beautiful timepiece on your wrist. Thanks for the upload 🥃⌚️👍🏾

Good morning Ash, England and Europe.
The silver Rolex perpetual is just beautiful. I would really consider the 41mm.
I own couple swiss autos(gmt , dress) and couple japanese (divers) but this Rolex is the king of dress watches. Just an opinion
    Cheers

Great video Ash. Lovely watch the black bay 54, I just WISH Tudor would make it with a blue dial as in the 58… if so I’d snap it up instantaneously!!

If choosing an Omega, ask for 20% off. It will help you get closer to your price bracket and they are nowhere in demand enough to not get at least 10% off. Same goes for the Grand Seiko.

He doesn’t have a dress watch. He needs one. The Rolex Oyster Perpetual and Seiko Grand Seiko are the best suggestions.

I might respectfully argue that the SARB 035 is a dress watch

The SARB035 isn’t a dress watch to me, it’s a toned down sports watch. But, at his age perhaps he doesn’t really need a proper dress watch.

The omega is the professional, I think he meant the 300 with the sword hands, which I think would be a better fit for him. Agree with the pelagus.

I own the bb54 and I prefer it over my sub. Very underrated

At £3-5k, I’d look at a 2nd hand Rolex OP, a 2nd hand IWC Portofino, or a new Longines Zulu time or Flagship Heritage

Ash what is your current favorite watch of your personal collection? If you had to get rid of all except one? Is it still the datejust?

I´d rule out the Tudor and Omega, since they aint do inhouse movements. Bearing in mind this chap wants to move up, then the Rolex is the choice - since he already got very decent Seikos. Yes a Rolex.

There are so many good watches out there now. Tudor is becoming better known and does seem a good alternative to Rolex. Rolex has irritated me and a lot of people with their marketing scheme.

At this point, that brand has been bastardized by Flippers, Super Cloners and Everything else under the sun. 100 PERCENT Cloned. that is.

Good morning Ash and the assembled Chappage
    Infotaining as always
