Valborg are deceptively simple. i'm still not quite sure what it is about them that draws me in so much, because on the surface they aren't doing anything incredibly complicated, but there's something about even the simplest valborg riff, in combination with those eardrum-searing vocals, that constant backdrop of wailing noise, that is consistently enigmatic and listenable time and time again. i really love this band. absolutely stoked for the next album. being familiar with the endstrand led me from thinking they were kind of an average death/sludge act to some bizarre industrialist primitive noise thing very cleverly disguised as a death/sludge act, you have have to pay attention to pick it up... brilliant.
VALBORG IS ALL RIFF MOST BANDS WILL PLAY A RIFF YOU LIKE THEN THE SONG CHANGES AND YOU SAY I HOPE THE RIFF COMES BACK BUT WITH VALBORG THE ENTIRE SONG IS RIFF THAT WHAT MAKES THEIR MUSIC SO CATCHY MINUS THE NORMIE FILTER HARSH AND ABRASIVE VOCALS THIS BAND GATE KEEPS THEMSELVES WHICH IS WHY I LOVE THIS MUSIC
The music is pretty good but the lyrics are pretty....creepy...no comment on the video. has nothing to do with the lyrics I think. Overall very disjointed or something else entirely

I remember Valborg rehearsing, me sitting in our collective rehearsal space 308 against the wall, being exactly this, stoked.
Album of the year material. Can't wait!!!
