    I wish you would have shown the difference between the two configurations laying down when all seats are stowed flat. Otherwise very helpful!

    One fact I noticed too is that if you want to use/need the cargo space in the back with the third row folded, then you're limited to only four people with the 7 seater. The captain chairs are nice but you are limited to four with the third folded down if you need the full cargo.

    I think with the 7 passenger version, there's an added bonus in that if you only have 1 adult or 1 passenger in the 3rd row, they can sit in the middle seat and have the most amount of legroom than anyone else!

      Jesus said it's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.You must get to know the real God Jesus Christ. Do you believe in God,? In the last day Jesus would resurrect everyone who ever lived including the good and the bad, and the good would go to heaven while the bad would perish and be tormented in Hell for all eternity, there is no reincarnating into another species, that is a lie, you only have this life to get right with God. today I want to share with you the Gospel of God Jesus Christ who is the only God who came in the flesh and lived among us about 2000 years ago and he was crucified and died for our sins, all men have sinned against God and hence we live in a world full of trouble because the first people named Adam and Eve ate from the tree which God commanded them not to eat from, hence because of their disobedience, Adam and Even were cast out of Paradise. But God in his love and mercy made a way for us to get back into this paradise so that we can once again live with him for eternity in paradise where we never grow old or die and where there is no pain or suffering for all eternity. Today you can take the first step in this journey by believing in God Jesus Christ and accepting him as God(as he was not just a good teacher) and by repenting of your sins. In the last day Jesus would resurrect everyone who ever lived including the good and the bad and the good would go to heaven while the bad would perish and be tormented in Hell for all eternity, there is no reincarnating into another species, that is a lie, you only have this life to get right with God. Therefore we must repent of our sins today and realize that we are not Gods, neither are we divine, only God is divine. Jesus is God and he taught us how to live when he came to Earth , there are 2 destinations either Heaven or Eternal hell fire, those believe in Jesus Christ and who live according to Jesus Christ would go to Heaven but those wicked people who reject him and choose their own paths would be cast into the lake of fire where they shall be tormented for all eternity, this is just the reality, nonetheless it is not fear that cause me to live for God but rather it is my love for him in that he is a merciful and loving God. Focus on the things of God instead of the things of this world as the things of this world are only temporary but the things of God are eternal. If you would like to know more about this I encourage you to study the ESV and KJV Bible as there is vital knowledge that you must have in there as it explains Gods plan for Humanity and what we must do to please him. Do not delay, tomorrow is not promised.Jesus bless you

    Regarding storage, some might prefer the 8 passenger so there won't be a hole in the second row for things to fall through. Or some might actually prefer the hole between the two captain's chairs to get a couple extra cubic feet to throw stuff. I often transport boxes so I would prefer the 8 passenger so I don't have to retrieve boxes from between the seats. Also I prefer the flat loading floor. Is the cargo area technically the same for both?

    How is the side to side room across that second row bench? Can the three adults that cannot be accommodated in the third row find refuge in the second? And another question, does the bench seat fold down completely? Not talking about any flatter than the captains chairs, as I know they don't fold completely flat, but I mean flat-ish?

  • @Sirgromulus

    Interesting video but atfor over 12 minutes long i would think you could also compare cargo room and configuration when the second row/chairs are folded flat. The video could have been 5 minutes long and offered the same information.

    Our new Ascent has a serious technical problem. The check engine light came on and all the safety features shut down. Once at 400 miles and now at 1,000 miles. Dealer service had to call in the Factory Tech. They think it might be a bad wire and are ordering a "bulkhead wiring harness". Sounds like a pretty serious issue. 2 weeks in the shop.

    Also with the captain chairs the kids can have their own space and if u have a new baby and mommy needs to be back there it easier with the captain chairs she or daddy can take care of both kids.

  • @glendas.mckinney926

    Are the captain chairs removable? I had a 1997 Odyssey (when it was still small with 4 regular doors) and we sometimes took out one of the second row seats entirely to make more cargo or golden retriever space. It was just a matter of releasing a couple of latches and lifting it out, not disassembling anything.

    Hey, fellow Colorado Subaru lover here.
    I can suggest a small benefit of 8 seater over 7, if u r an avid outdoor person (which I am). I heard the captain's chairs wouldn't fold flat. That could mean that you won't be able to put all seats flat and have a comfortable sleep while car camping (of course with the help of sturdy base layer/bed). I am totally aware that it is a small silly item. But, FWIW 😃

    The 7 passenger is way better. Due to the pass through..it's like a minivan in an SUV form

    • @blackwhirlwind1245
      @blackwhirlwind1245 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s much easier to just push the button on the 2nd row seat and slide the seat forward, just go straight to the 3rd row, no need to pass through in the middle of the 2nd row, middle pass through is only for small children, for adults, you have to bow your body to get through, I really don’t see the advantage of captain’s chair.

    • @slandshark
      @slandshark 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@blackwhirlwind1245 In addition, if you have child seats in the captains chairs you aren't going to be getting past them to the center aisle anyway. With the 8 seater you have way more configuration options for kids in child seats and could even leave one of the 2nd row end seats open, making it was easier to enter the 3rd row.

    Not being able to get a Touring with 8 passenger is a deal breaker for me. I like the Java leather and ventilated seats but can't have them on the Limited, also the Smart rear view camera and 180 front camera isn't available in the 8 seater. That is too much safety for 8 people I guess.

    • @blackwhirlwind1245
      @blackwhirlwind1245 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jorge Ramirez I think all automakers make the top trim level only come with 2nd row captain’s chairs, like Honda and Toyota, Subaru isn’t the only one doing this. I agree with you, I personally don’t think captain’s chairs are upgrade to the standard bench seat configuration. Most automakers put ventilated seats on the top trim level, so it’s hard to get 3 row SUVs with bench seat and ventilated front seats.

Also, in premium grade the ivory plastic piece that runs below the dash is hideous. cheap to the look and feel. Pleather in limited and touring is much more appealing

AND the moonroofs have huge potential for not being safe in car accident they are not made of same glass as windshield but of glass like windows. and look at the size of that moonroof. AND you can't get premium choices in any vehicle in any company without moonroof. $35,000 and up for a vehicle and you can't choose the features your family needs.
