With the screw driver inserted into the ziplock bag, use a hammer to TAP THE SCREWDRIVER GENTLY, punching one or more holes into the bottom of the oil filter. Just checked my 2019 Laramie, have clean seem on the drivers side rear window trim, but definitely a crack on passenger side. Thanks for the tip! Going to check for leaks and loose bolts this weekend!
2019 Laramie again, after researching the rear window cracked trim, I found many posts on front floorboard filling with water. Get in my truck this morning, remove my RAM floor mats, and sure enough floorboard has quite a bit of water. It’s not my daily driver yet, thus didn’t notice it. Possibly found mild and mildew under floor mats as well. Rained quite a bit this week in GA, thus the problem is very recent. Not a happy RAM owner right now!!! It’ll be in the shop tomorrow.
I believe that the cab is flexing to the point that the plastic trim can’t and it cracks ! I’m on the road trucking in Texas now and when I get home this weekend I’ll check my 2019 Bighorn too !
Just got my truck back from the dealer. They found that left/right sway bar end links were improperly fastened. And due to excessive wear they replaced both. So far no more clunking!
I have noticed the wheel well liners make some noise on mine. I'm confident its not in the suspension because Tire city works on my truck and they have never let anything go since before I could drive
Steve ! Same choice the shell Rotella for my rebel 12. after 2k miles it's still running great, a great choice for an oil and for highway miles. If you come across any squeak make sure you check the sway bar bushing for being a dry one as that is the culprit when rubbing rubber over metal while going over bumps.
If your truck does still make some noise? More so in the colder weather when a lot of the rubber mounts shrink a bit making them a bit tighter. You could try spraying some engine oil gasket reconditioner like ATP oil reseal in order to help rejuvenate the rubber properties of the mounts, and give them a longer life and better ride. The other thing I never noticed anybody do when changing their oil on any vehicle is if they don't fill the oil filter with fresh engine oil for whatever reason? For me and for you filling the oil filter and trying to get it up there without spilling it is pretty near impossible so what I try to do just remove the ignition fuse and the injector fuse from the fuse box with the hood open anyway. Then I just crank over the engine for 10 seconds until I get oil pressure and then I put both fuses back in and off I go without a dry start condition for that two or three seconds that there's no in the oil filter. I just never seen anybody on TH-cam try that it's so much easier. You can watch your oil gauge pin up to the middle and then shut off the key check the engine oil without even actually having to start the vehicle. anyway, I enjoy the videos. Keep up the good work.
I am currently interning at a shop, found out the axles on passenger side tend to be problematic. If you still get the clunk, maybe check that. Just throwing some newly acquired knowledge your way Steve. Hoping that the nut/bolts you tightened did the job.
