- Join us for a walk in Hastings, East Sussex, UK. We explore Hastings town centre and Hastings Old Town. We start our walk in Priory Meadow Shopping Centre and finish our walk on Hastings seafront.
Hastings is a large seaside town and borough in East Sussex on the south coast of England, 24 miles east to the county town of Lewes and 53 miles south east of London.
Hastings main shopping centre is Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, home to 56 stores. Further shopping streets in Hastings town centre include Queens Road, Wellington Place and Robertson Street.
Hastings Old Town is situated between two cliffs serviced by funicular railways. Charming Hastings Old Town blends an old-school seaside vibe with Tudor styling and a lively arts scene. Tourists are drawn to Hastings Fishermen's Museum, the Bluereef Aquarium and a seafront funfair, plus a shingle beach featuring tall, wooden fishermen's huts. George Street is lined with quaint shops and lively pubs, while High Street is home to art galleries.

That Odeon was wicked as a kid,on Saturday it was cheap...I remember watching robin hood Prince of thieves there,there was a good snooker club around the corner
My don't recognise any of it, from my childhood, old town ok, i rember a very long underground carpark under the prom, and a very old oak beam pub , the first pub I went in as a child 17.51 also the street were very busy in that time and pleased with the very smart appearance of the old town today, broke me.

ADDITION.. THE CAR PARK, not one too let up after thinking needed info (the pier underground carpark) THE FIRST in the world build in 1931, Google for further history, and a listed structure, arrrr better for that thinking done.......
I can't believe how many shops have changed hands. Spent my 1st 20 years in hastings. Costa. Wtf. Clarks was there! And where has the trader gone. Maccies. Kfc and Iceland are still in the same place. I hope the Italian way is on ur right after Iceland. I haven't got that far yet.
What's the night life like? Any dance floors?

Did you see the cricket ball? The Bronze statue of a cricketer, follow his swing, look behind him and UP over his left shoulder....(you should see it stuck into the wall above the jewelers)

Thank you. Lovely period buildings, yet without sessional flowers in hanging baskets & containers along with street trees everywhere (as in many European towns by shopkeepers & the council) a town can sadly look & feel very soulless, and doesn't help to embrace biodiversity. 💚

Hastings is run down all the shop are gold the old town is the best i get a lot of people are on holiday there i.all.way tell them the history all saints st is the posh st as old score and shop back in the day very beautiful st as 5 star rating the stag as a 5 hundred years old cat and a Bourne as old house what used to be the crown count and police station
