- Daisy Bell, half a year in the making, is finally completed!! Gosh, I've been thinking about this sweet little pet project for so long it feels crazy to have it be finished. And I got the chance to work with 12 incredible artists who brought it to life - thank you so much to every single one of you. You perfectly captured the vision I had for the project. A little cute, a little creepy, that's the way I like it.
Synopsis of "Daisy Bell MAP": This project is centered around Ashfur's death at the claws of Hollyleaf. In his last moments, he imagines a world that could have been, where everything is molded into his deepest fantasy. However, when his dreams begin to fall apart, Ashfur is forced to face reality.

Can someone give me some info on the audio for this? I’m really fascinated by it, especially the last bits
The main audio of the MAP, the “Daisy Bell” song, is the first thing ever “sung” by a computer, AKA the IMB 7094 credited at the end. The ending credit audio is from “2001: A Space Odyssey”, and it’s sung by the AI character HAL 9000 as he’s being shut down by Dave. Hence, as some have interpreted it, he is returning to the beginning of computer technology. It’s a very good movie, I think.

Ashfur’s Will turns out to be fan-fiction with him in the video’s happy world. He reads it to Hollyleaf in the outro.
Ashfur isn't a great writer then. All of the characters in his fan fiction are Mary Sues.

In most parts the imaginary Squirrelflight looks so life less and just like a emotionless robot and it just gives this chilling vibe, but the colors are so light and happy. It's amazing!! 💛💛💛💜💜💜
I think it's a good represtion of how Ashfur sees Squirleflight not a being with happines and emotins but a object to make himself happy.

It’s sad that Ashfur was rejected
(I don’t support his actions after that,but I understand his sadness from being rejected,wasn’t his fault,but his actions after where his fault)
The use of heart pupils really makes Squirrelflight look soulless and robotic, like Ashfur doesn't see her as a person, but an object of his fancy. Lil details like that are always neat.
Jeez this map gives me the chills!
If we ever got an Ashfur Super Edition, I definitely think it would sort of be like this
Hear me out: Ashfur had problems distinguishing between his “fantasy” and reality like in this map. He sees things that aren’t there, Squirrelflight “loves” him and he desperately wants her to stay with him forever. Maybe he’s so possessive because his mother died- he doesn’t want to lose Squirrel so he USES her instead.
Every time it’s his “reality” his behavior changes to being happy and seemingly fine, then when reality snaps back again he lashes out, angry that he can’t always have the fantasy world. So he waits for the perfect time to burn reality(literally). He tries to kill Squirrel’s kits, but maybe even hoping he’d die too, so his misery would be at an end. Did he go on a trial in Starclan? Did he hope that he’d get into Starclan so he could wait for the perfect time to strike back? Where’s HOLLYLEAF in all this? Does she eventually kill him again? How did Ashfur become the imposter? Was he alone doing this or did he go to the Dark Forest looking for Hawkfrost’s advice?
WE NEED AN ASHFUR SUPER EDITION-
But in Squirrelflights Hope we see Ashfur and Hollyleaf in starclan. Ashfur goes with Dustpelt to hunt after greeting Squirrelflight in Starclan, Who asks Hollyleaf how she can stand Hollyleaf, who replies that the past was a long time ago and they have made their amends. So?? I don't actually understand how Ashfur went from that to the imposter? It's very strange.
@Koda the Starbucks Employee why is Sol so interested in Ashfur and specifically her relatives? Surely he would be interested in Leafstar and so on as well if that was the case
Laurel Tyler ashfur at first was at semi-peace in starclan, he'd accepted that squirrel wasnt there with him, but he still hoped for the chance to be together when she died.
When squirrel is knocked out and sent to starclan he sees that she has zero interest in him, and even overhears her talking about why he should be in the dark forest. The final straw breaks when he realizes that she's going to do the impossible and go back to life just so she can go and be with bramblestar. He's devastated and angry, why didn't he get to go back to her in a second chance? why was squirrel able to get a chance and not him?
Angered he finds the chance to have his own second chance when bramblestar's spirit is stripped from his body. He uses this to finally be with squirrel again and to feel the love from her he thinks he deserves.
(also he's definitely been given the chance by another starclan cat who's the one thats been speaking to shadowsight, ashfur simply follows his requests to enforce the code so he can be with squirrel)

This is actually really unsettling, I love it! Squirlflight looks so terrifyingly happy in some parts, especially davinci131's, it really adds to the mood! At the end when he's dying and singing was truly horrific, cinnibarlab did a wonderful job! I can't think of one thing I don't like about this map!

At 1:19 Ashfur seems to be confused/concerned. Maybe because he's starting to realise this is all a fantasy of his? Or maybe he notices Squirrelflight isn't showing any signs of REAL emotion. And after he attempts to touch her, his fantasy is destroyed. He is now in the real world

I love how this turned out! The transitions from fantasy to real life are really cool looking, and I like how the fantasy world looks nice but feels just slightly off with Squirrelflight’s expression

I LOVE HOW CREEPY THIS FEELS! The way how in the dream Squirellflight just sorta stares forward with little emotions and the cracking of the dream is so great!! Absolutely loved the animation of Ashfur dropping to his death, was so great!
The white heart pupils on squirrelflight really add heaps to the creepiness of ashfurs fantasy, to the feeling of something just being ‘off’. Because they’re white, they look blank and empty, and the hearts are a special little touch. Mindlessly hypnotized to be in love. What ashfur wants her to be. Chilling.

The part at 1:27 gives me chills for some reason good lord. Like, the way he's swaying, the way his mouth moves, his teeth, his eyes, it's just all so _unsettling._ Obviously he's about to die from the wound but he also just looks so unhinged and sickly and dangerous. The artist did such an amazing job here.
I can definitely see why this song suits Ashfur so much, as Daisy Bell was actually a very sweet and romantic song back in the 1800’s when it was originally created.
Overtime the song was seen as scary when it was sang by a robot
That could show how Ashfurs fantasy’s and love for Squirrelflight became twisted overtime.

No, it is Hollyleaf. The “fantasy” designs are just a little different from the reality designs.
The whole idea and execution of this was amazing! Cutting to and from the happy make believe world Ashfur made was genius! The ending was amazing, just wraps up the whole thingy perfectly. Amazing map! All the creators who did this were amazing!

I love how in Ashfur’s fantasy, Squirrelflight looks almost... mindless, I guess? The way she’s always blankly smiling at him makes me think that in Ashfur’s fantasy, he wants her to be happy with him and only him, as if he sees her as an object of loving rather than her own person (or cat lol).

My cat is named Daisy.. I watched "2001: A Space Odyssey" and when HAL sung the song, my cat LOOKED UP at the mention of her name.. *she was a bit scared* ALSO this fits Ashfur very well, when he said "I'm half crazy" that is really describing his character!

I love how the colors shift from pastel/unrealistic to darker/realistic the more he comes in contact with reality. The reality is, Squirrelflight will never love him the way he wants her to.

okay never read warriors and i dont usually comment on maps but this is just so ?!?!?:? i LOVE the tone its so uneasy and the fantasy bits are like suffocatingly sweet until it rips back to reality and god this was just so cool to watch everyone did so good
Basically ashfur (the grey cat) had his heart broken by squrrielflight (the orange cat) who then fell in love with bramble star (the brown cat) so he went insane till holly leaf (the black cat or squirrel flights daughter) killed him yeah pretty dark but hey good story at least for me and if you already knew it well darn I guess.
This is one of the best ashfur concepts and videos. I feel like the message is that even in a happy world where ashfur doesn’t go crazy and gets what he wants he still turns crazy and ends up dead by holly leaf. Almost like it’s his fate or something.

- He doesn’t think of squirrelflight as an actual cat, more like a robot, and gets surprised when she fights back
- Ashfur doesn’t actually resent brambleclaw in his fantasy. He doesn’t imagine bramble being angry, jealous, or sad. I dont even think he dislikes him as a cat
- He’s confused at why he was in the wrong here. He doesn’t think he deserved to be killed.

Edit: I just realized that every other character except for Ashfur (Except for the intro's and outro) had white pupils. Which really makes them seem like they're non-existant and dead. The small details in this MAP are awesome!

I was a backup, so I didn’t make anything that made it in, but I had the privilege of being in the discord while this was created. The effort and skill put into this was incredible. And I'm at that age when I'm figuring out what I see myself as. And it just annoys me when people say comments like that, no matter what they're complaining about. Plus, I've been reading Warriors for at least 6 years. And I've read most of the books. just not the recent super edition, novellas, or manga (which I'm kinda debating on whether to read it or not being that it's about Mothwing because thanks to the events in Darkness Within, I kinda hate her now.)

Here's a few clues pointing out that it's all just a dream;
1# If you didn't notice, everyone but Ashfur had pure white pupils, that probably signifies that they're not real
2# Squirrelflight's the only one with eyes that were in the shape of hearts, that might represent her being Ashfur's love interest.
3# Everything and everyone was way too happy and cheerful looking. It seemed a little odd that no one was upset in even the slightest. Not to mention that everything looked a little too perfect.
Then again, this IS what Ashfur was dreaming about before his final moments. Buuuuuut just wanted to point that out for fun.
I know a lot of people say this,but this map gave me actual chills.
I love the face that everyone in Ashfurs ‘perfect’ world are all happy,and always as a smile,even Brambleclaw. And the only one who can actually frown and be sad is Ashfur himself. He wants a world were he as a happy ending. He wants to be happy,like everyone else. Squirrel is happy with Ash,just has he wanted. And the end,Jesus. I like to think that Holly knows what Ash wanted in the end.

I love how Ashfur is snapped into reality,and how he is actually sad and surprised when it happens. He doesn’t want his perfect world to go away. Also I love how emotionless he looks at the end when he sings to Holly,like he doesn’t understand what have just happen. Holly just looks stressed,maybe she understands what Ash wanted? Maybe she saw Ash’s ‘perfect’ world?
Also,how Squirrel as hearts in her eyes? That’s acutely very very unsettling. Is the reason Squirrel as heart in her eyes,because Ash thinks Squirrel loves him so much,as much as he loves her? It’s also like he thinks Holly,Jay and Lion would of been perfect kits if he was the father,but of course that probably just the case in his world.
Also at the end in Ash’s ‘perfect’ world,I love how he is confused about why Squirrel is like lifeless robot,like he sees that what this world is,is wrong. Then when it turns back to normal he is even more chocked and confused,like he thinks that he could of never done anything like that...
Oh, i love the colour schemes and atmosphere of this map! The contrast is amazing and everyone did such a good job!
helllloooo i went back and rewatched this bc of your community post and another detail that struck me is how the three’s designs (or at least, holly’s, since she’s the only one who we see in both real life and fantasy) don’t change at- i know it was prrrobably so you didn’t have to deal with Three Whole More Designs (and holly does have her fluffier, choppier irl fur) but it makes me feel like that was a bit of ashfur’s fantasy crumbling even at the start- he couldn’t imagine how the kits would look if they really WERE his. aaaaa anyways :D i still love this, you and every artist here did such a good job!!!

It seems almost nostalgic in a way, we used to sing this song when I was younger in primary school and even after not hearing it for a while it still brings back memories. That combined with how there's a sinister undertone even in the happiest parts just makes it so special??? Man the audio is somewhere between wholesome and creepy I love it

I personally believe that Ashfur truly loved Squirrelflight at first, but his jealousy (and possible loneliness) morphed the love into obsession. He didn't want to let her go.

I've known about this MAP long Before I knew what Warriors was and I looked back today knowing who Ashfur was and I'm like "So that is what this was about!"

This is beautiful! The audio fits very well- the fact that its sung by a computer is cool and creepy.. AWESOME!

I like how to show his fantasy I noticed with hollyleaf I think her name was is that she had a blank stare and here eyes had a dull color to them
Note that when they show Holly, Lion and Jay as kits, they show Hollykit looking kinda upset. Idk if this was intentional but I love it.
