I finally got to railfan this area this past June. The scenery was awesome and the frequency of the trains was amazing (you can see CP and CN tracks side by side most of the way so you didn't have to wait long for a train). Plus, you get to run into super friendly Canadians. I'd rank this area up there with the Columbia River Gorge and Cajon Pass as my 3 favorite railfan spots I've been to. This, from a guy from Maryland.
great video In the first few seconds of M355, in the background is the remains of a collapsed tunnel. I heard a story that there where abandoned box cars with brand new cars inside, trapped in the debris. I did look in ( but didn't go in) many years ago and I don't think so.
