    Hi Greg,
Thank you so much for your thorough review. We really appreciate you noticing us and taking the time and effort you put on this video. We are always eager to receive feedback to improve and provide all our customers fresh quality ingredients. Our shop is a small family run business, we opened our doors just 2 months ago, thanks to you kind people we are getting better each and everyday.
Normally we put feta cheese on our Doner kebab as well, not sure why it was missing on your order. Probably run out of it, sorry. The added feta cheese adds extra saltiness. Also you can have any extra sauce of yours besides the house made garlic yoghurt sauce. Please come and try our Doner kebab with extra feta cheese and barbeque sauce one day. :)
Thank you again for your honest review.
    Kind Regards,
    Flame Cafe & Kebab

Hi Greg, been watching you since 2nd year of highschool, it makes 10 years.
As you know many Turks migrated to Germany as workers, after some of them opened Doner Shops. After years there is a slight difference between Turkish and German kebabs, like in Turkey only pickle, onion, lettuce, tomato put in the bread with doner, in germany there are some sauces, also both in turkey and germany sometimes doner made with red meat is sometimes made with mminced meat so it is like a paste before cooked, but in you video i can see that it is well sliced marinated red meat.
    cheers

Thats so true what you said.
I worked fir a turkish kababe shop and he had some of his family in Germany as well he used to visit besides going back to Turkey.
But his own business was always putting prices up for less qulity red meat...they invest in each others businesses, if you bought a car f ixed your house ,you get a visit.
Its hard work forlittel money long hours and they dont like to pay properly to worker's who put all they time and skills into there business.

So very true, I bought one when I was over in Germany thinking I was going to get a Queensland kebab at 4 a.m (if you know what I mean!) But ended up with one of these and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was... Not sure if Morningside is doing it the justice it deserves. You really need to order off a vendor that doesn't speak English and you have to point a lot in a country that you don't speak the native tongue let alone Turkish! LOL it's the turkish kebab German experience!

  • @robkelly9258
    @robkelly9258 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

I never heard of a kebab with BBQ sauce lol but when you say it is missing something "salt" wise they usually put lemon juice on the salad.... The reason they call it German kebab is because of the thickness of the bread, apart from that it is pretty much the same as any other donner kebab (pronounced Donna and not "Donor" like as if you are giving away a kidney or something lol. Glad you enjoyed it.

The more traditional meat for a Döner Kebab is actually veal or beef in germany; however alot of Dönershops are offering low quality minced meat, pressed and glued together of the rest what you normally can't sell (however some germans still eating it, but the purpose of those shops are money laundering anyway and don't really care if they actually selling food).

Here's a top tip for you Greggo... Carry a large 70L + Black Drawstring Refuse Bag in your Ute mate... Then if you're going to try eating something messy like this German Doner Kebab... Pull the drawstring ties together so that the opening of the refuse bag closes... Then put the two long drawstring tie loops over your head... Similar to the way you that would with a kitchen apron... Then spread out the refuse bag to cover your whole T-Shirt and your legs right down to your knees... Then any food that drops while your eating... Will simply land on the refuse bag... And once you've finished reviewing the messy food... Simply pull the drawstring ties back over your head... Then all you have to do to clean up... Is to roll it up from the bottom... Then turn the refuse bag inside out and tie a knot in it... Nothing will leak out... And your clothes will be free from food spillage... And your Ute should keep clean too... The refuse bag can still be used for it's intended purpose... By simply untying the knot and filling it with normal household refuse... It'll certainly save you the hassle of cleaning both your Ute and clothes... 😂 All the best Greggo... Cheers mate. 🍺

And by turning it inside out afterwards... It was an easy clean up mate... As i always tilt my head forward while clipping my hair from back to front... 👌All the best... Cheers Greggo. 🍺

Mate, doner kebab as we know them originated in Germany. They come in a Turkish bread pocket, meat is lamb, sauce is either 'knoblauch' (garlic) or 'scharfe' (sharp, i.e. chilli). The red cabbage really make it. Absolute best in Berlin, but all over Germany you'll find them. They put the small pitta bread wraps we call doners here to shame.

the salt that was missing was the fries side order, but for $7 for combo of a small serving of chips and probably in that is a $1 can of soda i don't blame you for not falling for that ripoff.
the score 7.5/10 seems legit, though i love my donor kebab in a wrap better than a bun/bread

It's overpriced but minimum wage in Netherlands is 15.89 Australian dollars and the Australian minimum wage is $21.38.

If you have a German Doner without it being messy, it's not a German Doner :) I'm a regular there, I love this place and if you wanna meet any Germans, you'll definitely find them there haha

Hahahaha his car and knee is full of lettuce and saus plus some lambslices all over the place. I guess the idea with the wrapping paper was too eat it and pull the paper back while is still on and take a bite and progress too fold paper back when the meal shrinking ;-) hehe probably very tasty anyway

That's a pretty new franchise, forgot what it was called before but the kebabs were pretty average. Nothing terrible but ... meh. They did have these HSPs with potato gems instead of chips though which was choice. The dessert shop next door (next to the gym lmao) has amazing thickshakes too
