My mother has spiritually cured many people since she was only 6 yrs old. She is now 91 yrs old and our people still depends on her to cure the spirits of the sick. She is still a shaman.

      you don't inform people well.
the healer is called a KAM and not a shaman!
Shaman is an Arabic word for paganism. Shama-un / peoples who do not have a heavenly religion.
Siberian and central Asian people had no places of worship. the western missionaries thought they had no faith because they did not pray either. the arab muslims thought the same too.
They have called these peoples pagans heathen and shaman.

Also, to give a perspective of someone whose hand has been forced with this stuff, it's bloody hard, dirty and painful work. It can be funny, but only in the same way that watching someone's else fall over is.

Pray. God speaks in dreams visions weather signs wonders numbers burning bushes etc. Hes the most High spirit. Psalm 91:1 btw "sacred objects" means idols and accursed objects. Being a shaman in modern American is confusing and lonely, leading to so much awareness and disappointment BUT watching this reaffirmed that I'm here, I've been called to this and I will keep going to serve my purpose. I truly appreciate you sharing how we are different now, the world needs different things from us. I also find it entertaining that I became an anthropologist before I realized/accepted that I was a shaman. Seems to be a common theme in these neo-shaman days. Blessings to you!

I have no recollection of past lives and haven’t personally taken any hallucinogens. For as long as I can remember I have always ’felt’ there is something much deeper to our reality that can’t be explained but can be experienced. With the use of meditation , (sometimes mirrors, pictures and symbols) I access the hidden parts of my subconscious to bring a deeper level of self awareness. I believe as humans our greatest power lies in knowing ourselves, which includes getting to know and ultimately integrate our very dark and repressed parts of ourselves. It’s not all light, and it certainly is not an easy path. I don’t really know if I’m a ‘shaman’ and that’s ok, but in the modern western society I have incarnated into, it is my duty to integrate our fractured human consciousness. It’s an interesting path and it isn’t for the faint hearted! Sorry for rambling. This path is humbling. 🐉🐍

Shaman - Healing people - If you do it people on the outside will take to social media to call you a thief, a crook, delusional. Those you heal will be grateful but thick skin and strong spiritual guidance is whats needed if you intend to put your head up in the natural healing field. No matter how good a healer you are, many people will hate and attack you verbally. Be forewarned.

Well done, an excellent introduction that touches on the main points of this path without bias or judgement and leaves open the evolutionary nature of the path to the changes modern life is presenting. Shamanism is not an artifact of the past but rather the affirmation and engagement with multidimensional reality and consciousness that we seem to have lost but not really. I like to call this spiritual ecology. There are those of us who have been called and work in quiet and largely unnoticeable ways to maintain this legacy of our past and to find new ways to manifest this......

I once guided a friend through a past life experience somewhat unintentionally. We were both in an altered state of consciousness; he regressed into his former self, a Mongolian warrior, and he had killed me in battle. I’m pretty sure I was a Chinese man, but I’m not certain. The strange thing is that I seemed to be helping him through this experience, telling him where to go next and asking him questions about his past life, and was not disturbed by this past trauma that we had shared. I believe I helped bring closure to this event. We went through this entire shared experience without physically speaking aside from a couple meaningless words and laughter. We had other friends confirm this later after we had discussed our experience. I feel deeply drawn towards the shamanic path, but I find myself somewhat lost and confused in my current position. I feel that if I do not re-connect with my spirit, and align myself on the right path soon that it will have negative consequences in this life. I’m not sure what to do.

This describes my entire life in this current black male body as this video describes me in this life. Since I was a child I always felt and saw visions of my past life as a native american shaman. He calls and tugs at me everyday to assume my true identity and not the coat i must wear to survive in modern society. This modern world causes so much confusion and doubt of the spiritual experience. I was last a woman in industrial Europe, and I was miserable in that life. I know it sounds crazy but it is as real to me as the sun shinning in my eye. I do not seek approval of my experience or need validation. Only people who live this video would understand.

Yes It was. You summarized it perfectly. I shared this video with a friend to explain who I truly was. I could not have said it better in words. I have fought this calling my whole life due to fears, and expectations. Our society tells us we are crazy and are hearing things when we explain our spiritual experiences, yet only believe those as found in the bible. This video validates why others don't feel this world and beyond the way I do (except some other gifted family members) However, I have been able to provide spiritual advice and health remedies, free people of mental/spiritual afflictions, diagnose conditions persons were unaware they had, precognition, audio voyance etc. I feel like I have wasted so much time not fully developing my ability due to my fears and doubt caused by others. But very recently I have decided to embrace it more as this feeling and urge is very powerful as well as the vision of my former self as a shaman in a past life. The realization at my age of 37 that I have rejected my true nature for so long has brought me to tears. So this video is an affirmation to me. I thank you so much for it.

Good video but like most modern interpretations of religious/spiritual practices it glosses over the dark in favor of the light. It makes Shamanism seem cool or fun. Completely neglecting the fact that to be a Shaman is to be a warrior. And to be a warrior is to live in and amongst constant suffering. It is as a wounded (i.e. humble) warrior that the shaman battles death, disease, and infertility. A noble cause indeed, but it's not all fun and games and it's only for the elect, to be willing is not enough.
I thank you and ask your forgiveness. Salud.

Constant suffering is for people who didn't forgive themselves. No need to be electrocuted man, just meditate, relax and use your drum. The secret is in overcoming your fears, not in self-torture. The chakras are also important and to be well guided and protected by divine beings. You can even be protected by yourself.

Rick Bernal It is good that you mention the connection of dark and light. To be a shaman is to know both. Even then, a shaman may regret knowing what others do not know or do not wish to see. Sometimes, it appears that a lot of people are attracted to the altered states and theatrics inherent with contemporary shamanism without realizing a true shaman can function with or without them.
I disagree with the video on the concept of shaman’s purpose is to bring joy. A shaman’s purpose is to restore balance in body, mind, spirit, and nature.

my initiator had me watch 3 days of McKenna videos as a preliminary step to my first journey. Mine were like consecutive lessons, 19 in all and totally life changing, hey i'm still here, but, one thing i noticed that stuck with me was i no longer had any questions, for other humans, it's like all is within. The McKenna description of the orbs was not my particular experience, but, that's one of the things, it's different for everyone

In my culture we are called "curanderos". My great-grandma, grandma & mother have the ability to help heal. My grandma and mother don't practice it unless it's family as it's considered "taboo" in some communities. I, on the other hand, decided that I will not allow my gift/s to be hidden. I will not be silenced. I am learning as am I sure we never truly stop learning. I have chosen to accept this and grow. I know my great-grandma is proud. :) I will continue to share love and wisdom along with the trials I am faced with. #conamormilagros I am currently waiting for answers but I am told to be cautious and to also be patient. (I am anxious to learn more) May the spirits guide you all! Jaes... thank you for sharing.

Beware. Shananism = witchcraft. Idolater divination necromancy one with familiar spirits. Soothsayer. Deut 18. God is a spirit. St john 4:24 be a shaman for god (metaphorically) speak to him only. Pray. God speaks in dreams visions weather signs wonders numbers burning bushes etc. Hes the most High spirit. Psalm 91:1 btw "sacred objects" means idols and accursed objects. Divination and prophecy are similar but divination is from the enemy. Prophecy comes by the will of God only. Spirits speak without speaking, and you hear them without listening. They utilize sigils as well the bible calls them graven images. Idols as well. Idols house spirits, aka drmons.

Nicely done, Jaes. A clear and concise introduction to a crucial part of Human existence since the dawn of our evolution. After all, we, as animals, are in essence Perceivers, and Shamanism provides the links for everyone to have a chance at Perceiving and Being all we can be as beings of Energy and Light. Thanks again.

It's funny because it was only about 8 months or so ago that I'd have said I was a "hard atheist", after a long period of agnosticism. Then I got turned around and sucked into this _SHAMANISM_ stuff and - gasp - I can't help finding I actually find it more ... !!! _rewarding_ !!! ... than any other spiritual paths I've tried, and that seems to "fit" much better than them, as in I find I can get into it without trying to force myself. I am not going to call myself "a SHAMAN" by a long shot, but I do feel like there's "something here", whatever that might mean. I feel it is rather less an aim in itself and much more an adjunct to other types of work that is aimed at helping people. Healing in a sort of disease sense is just one possibility; I feel it fits well with my goals to be a social _activist_ making societal-level change for justice, too, such as new ways to deal with crime instead of the police and jail system. I also have this weird idea that "a Doctor ... Should also be a *SHAMAN* ", which I interpret as meaning that we should take seriously the idea of reinterpreting "conventional" western medical science as the natural logical extension of the shaman's healing toolbox and to wonder what it might mean if we employed it in such a context. Our western culture is so deprived of community and I feel shamanism really is a communal spirituality; too often I see people going at it or toying with it for purely personal reasons and I think that's sad, especially when there are so many other types of spirituality that _are_ genuinely individual. The SHAMAN should be a kind, sweet, Meeply figure that not everyone needs to be but who there is never a community without and who is much beloved therein.

I am slowly on the way to the path of a shaman.
For those who say its Satan worship ill let you on a exspirence that I had.
The devil came to me in a out of body exspirence.
It was very real and he started taking my feelings away he started numbing the things I cared about it and it was like at this weird farm thing with walking zombies everywhere .he didn't speak but I knew what he wanted and was screaming no.
And everytime I'd think about values of good hed make them numb.
And then I had to let go of the emotion I felt towards him that anger and fear.
To then just say one more firm no I don't want to go.
And thats when I woke up it was a terrifying exspirence I cried alot .
Shamanism is the exact opposite of evil. Another thing to you that question the new generation of shamanism.
    Your not wrong at all.
Some of the spirtual people who are rising out of my generation are misguided .
But not all of us are this way .
I have all respect for the past shamans and ways of doing things.
To those of you scared for what we becoming you are not wrong at all.
Not all neo shamans are good.
Some have not done that important step of surrender.
    And are very lost.
Right now the Maya is unfolding for me im in the stage of seeing the dillusion for what it is.
Thats a stage that older shamans got through faster but the journey has sense been altered.
As society grows the dillusion only becomes more complex. There are more boxes inside of boxes and when you reach one truth you realize there is another higher one and this paradox creates a state of disbelief when there keeps being more and more.
But I am still connected through out the process always and whereever I go there are certain principles that being written again and again .
And these I suppose are like universal truths.
I think I'm very much closer now then at any point this far but as I get closer I see just how much I don't know.
Knowing that you do not know is where I'm at.
Things like inner child work, auras ,soul tribe, energy ,vibrations,Channelers ,present moment ,dimensions ,realism ,meditation ,natrual ways of healing,
That is where I am at .I'm only 15 years old and my calling happened when I was 9 years old its crazy that iv been walking this spiritual path for 6 years .
I took a vision quest in the woods a couple months ago .all alone in the woods and the path led me back to my cabin 4 hours later with out myself realizing that is where I was going the universe has its ways. Everything is about speres and circles.
    -infj gen zer
All hope is not lost for this generation yet.
(As a side note also wanted to say that it gave me a certain ease that shamans should be very joyous i always kinda thought like most them had to had to be like structured and always in a state of neutrality all the time but ig this just shows where new age beleifs failed me and this video was a good reminder to me that all shamans are a bit diffrent )

I have another life in WA USA during the end of the last ice age. As a child I saw my father's best friend get gored by a mastodon/ wholly mammoth. He died. I was 4 or 5 I ran home to the shamans hut and told him I was too afraid to grow up and be a man and hunt. Was there another job? He said hummm well I am old there is a job as a shaman coming up. I said I will take it. In this life I thought I was just Psychic. A medium...too religious is what other people call me. I spend almost all my life exploring the other worlds with my soul. I am sure most people are not like me. Thanks for the video. _ ( ) _ Namaste Aloha

Thanks for watching Peter. The history of the cross is fascinating. It has been used by many cultures with differing spiritual and religious beliefs since early humans. I think there are similarities in all of them. The stories may differ, but in essence it is the intersection of spirit and matter, creating life and death.

I was "ordained by Spirit. I was guided through dream time. I wonder if it is because I was a single mom? My school was in dream time like I said. many years have passed since that time and gave more energy to my "career". It paid for college. LOL at 65 I have retired from my "career". I was a stylist and spent almost 30 years on people's crowns. thinking that nothing happened, I thought that it all had passed me by. My ego-self had to deal with the idea that I had "lost" something. My "best" awareness is my intuition. My second is understanding and helping people transform through the idea that we are just light. Cause that is what we are LOL. It is a teachable technology, so does that make me a shaman. I would NEVER call me that and I've experienced some pretty weird shit and came out alive! always by the seat of my pants and heart raising to get back into my body! hahaha! I laugh, but it's NOT funny. If I can manage some lucidity it makes it a hell of a lot easier. Is that the "modern shaman" Adjectives! Then one day I was sweeping the deck. I love monotonous things when I'm sorting out my thoughts and I kept repeating to myself that I was a healer and a teacher. I was just thinking about that and then from over my left shoulder, I hear, "You're a shaman" just as clear and I stopped and a rush came over my entire body. I went into a quiver like a wave of indescribable trickling kind of nervous, anxious, in disbelief. What did I just hear, was that me, NO I hear me over my right side but this made me hear on the left, that's why I paused. I know when "IT'S" something else, I just do. hahahaha now I'm sitting with all this wisdom and I can just chill, but I know I am ALWAYS prepared to serve in a way that I only know in the moment. Spirit and I have had a "deal" for a long time. ONly if I am suppose to have an effect on anyone for God do I care to know anything. But when I need to know I always do...The Warror Crone.
