I love this plane. It's configuration and design is quality compared to the other AA airbus designs.
The main cabin has more leg room than any other aircraft in the fleet on average. There is an extra lavatory for business class. Only 72 in Main Cabin. No one is overcrowded. There's excess overhead bin space. There are a dozen lighting scenes available to play with on this aircraft. Slow motion sunrise/sunset, indigo, moonlight, and a fully dimmable basic white (0-100). Everyone in Main Cabin has their own IFE screen. Everyone in first class has a window and aisle seat, no sharing with other passengers. The lavatories have motion sensor faucets, I wasn't expecting that. Most companies won't spare the expense to purchase an aircraft like this. It only seats 102 while the others seat close to 200 on the same size aircraft but it offers an extremely comfortable ride for quite a few people. I'd say the one downside is, it's the only aircraft still in the fleet that has business class seats that don't have direct access to the aisle. If you have a business class window seat, you have to climb over your companion or complete stranger to get to the aisle.
Totally agree!! This is my fave domestic plane in the sky. Nothing even comes close. If you are flying to NYC from LAX of SFO, this must be the plane of choice! On top of this being a great plane, you get the Trans con service and lounge if in Biz or First.....AA hit it out of the park with this design.

I flew cross country a lot back in the late 80's and it was always a big wide-bodied aircraft like
Delta L-1011 American DC-10 or TWA 747 those were the days, just having that huge aeroplane to walk about was wonderful. The Flight Attendants would toss a salad in First Class and carve a prime rib as well as tasty treats, granted they didn't have lie flat seats but they were wide and comfortable. I don't think I would like the A-321 just too narrow. Long flights were always a heavy aircraft. Airlines love using the narrow-bodied aircraft on long hauls now as they are less to operate. I'm glad you like it though thanks for the report............

That is nice.... I always love taking off out of LAX and seeing the ocean as the pilot starts to make the first right hand turn over the ocean. Then for the second and third right turn and then flying over LA...Very nice....

Looking back at 2019, it is going to be fun this summer. I'm going to Budapest via LAX-JFK-LHR-BUD mostly with American so should be interesting to see what they offer

Great trip report. Flown the transcon from LAX in economy before but trying Business to SFO and back to JFK next march the product offered looks one of the best ones. Subbed to your channel also (Y).

My worst experience with a transcon flight was from Newark to San Francisco. If I do the transcon I prefer jetBlue or American as their fleet is much younger.

Great trip report. The A320 and A321 are great airplanes. I thought AA offered a very nice product.
I think it is interesting when there is the odd aluminum container on an otherwise nice meal plate.
So I've thought about this, that sauce is supposed to be poured over the meatloaf before it is served, but I have a feeling A LOT of people won't want THAT much sauce on their entree, they don't give us a small bowl or ramekin to place it in. It's a tricky situation.
One thing that they could try is to put the sauce down first, then the meat on top of it. It would then give people more control on how much to apply to the meat. Same goes for their sundaes. Put the sauce in the serving container first, then the ice cream on top of it. It give more of a "treasure hunt" experience during the eating.
Soggy consistancy is something to consider, but it's also meatloaf, soooo.
It's just an ok product. United has the best I've experienced. Their PS service has Saks 5th Avenue linens, better catering and their all 757 fleet is much nicer. They also fly into Newark, which is closer to Manhattan and is a superior terminal, albeit large.

Thanks for giving the seat dimensions, larger sized people would really appreciate knowing that ahead of time. I would also like knowing how handicapped accommodations are handled since I fit both categories.
I'm not 100 percent sure about handicapped accommodations, since I know every airline has their own policies. But what I do know is that most airlines have a pre boarding option for handicapped customers, which means they'll get extra time to settle in before everyone else boards
It’s annoying that the Airlines don’t let you keep the noise canceling headphones, but it’s understandable. They want to keep costs low, so airplane-compatible only headphones are the norm.

Too bad you couldn't connect with that Cathay Pacific Triple 7 to HKG upon arrival! Flying EB,your body clock probably got messed up--you leave LAX around 11am,fly for five hours,arriving at JFK at 8pm local time but your body would say "Hey,its only 4pm,yet its dark outside!" Can we expect another trip report flying WB back to California? Do you know if coach passengers get food/beverage freebies as you did? And if you belong to the AAdvantage program,probably got double mileage at least!
Thought the same thing when I saw the arrival. I ended up going to sleep at around 2AM after I arrived at the wrong hotel. I returned back on Mint, so therefore I didn't make a review on it. According to AA, main cabin passengers do get free snacks. And yeah, it gave me 9000 EQMs.

1080p60, I tried doing 4k60 and it really makes my videos look too shaky
Asking for the headphones an hour before landing would've really irritated me. That's stupid
alexw14615 it was 25 minutes before landing after captain say "Flight attendant prepare for landing"....Those headphones r really expensive and must be collected to place on the entertainment catering cart. They also offered regular ear PHONES. Jetblue does rhe same but NOBODY SAYS ANYTHING ..How Ironic...
Funny...because on international routes they do the exact same thing...
They do this for EVERY route that does noise-canceling headphones, the alternative is to do it after landing and at that point, people are trying to leave the plane. Passengers could just take off with them.
Zane Gregory EXACTLY it is why the PURSER needs to have all carts secrured and locked before landing, CABIN crews dont get paid after the main entry door is opened after arrival. Once the Cabin purser says on the P.A. " Flight Attendants prepare for arrival and cross check , STAND BY on call , and that door is open then cabin crews stop getting paid. So, everything must be locked and stowed away at galley and theyre done.
You're dealing with the general public (scumbags abound)...an hour gives them plenty of time to collect before they (scumbags) pocket them.

it goes red to let other passengers know that its currently locked, meaning its in use. While green lets you know that nobody is currently using it
