“Grungy lullabies” is definitely the best description for these songs that I have heard 😂😂 i love it
More is very emotional because it’s about her 3 miscarriages. She really wants to be a mother but it never worked. She says that for her it’s a happy song because she hopes she is going to have kids someday. It’s very striped down, because the lyrics are the most important thing in this song.
I really like the the line “when a house ain’t a home” and I don’t know what other people think about that, but for me it sounds like, her body is a house because somebody could actually live there, but it’s not a home so there is nobody in there. I really like her lyrics
i always interpreted the house as like how she can have a child but it not being a home because of her condition making it extremely hard. so similar but a lil different
In her Munich show in Germany she said “one day when i get married and have children” and the entire crowd cheered she teared up it was so touching 🥺

there's something about watching other people admire artists i love that makes me so emotional i swear i always end up crying while watching your videos and how you react to things
More is about her struggle with fertility, miscarriage and her wanting to be a mother..so she wrote this song to her future kid. At the end of the song she said that her and lido (the producer) made it sound like an ultrasound of what the baby inside the womb would hear.
And there is a part where the sound is a heartbeat. And then there is a chimney bell sound to be like a mobile that you hang over a crib. 👍🏻 She did a really good break down in her apple music interview
And now she is pregnant!! I'm so happy for her! 'More' almost broke my heart. Thank god everything is working out now

The fact that Blake, a producer, loved the album despite of not being mainstream speaks something. It means that he appreciate what "real" music sounds like. Halsey became experimental on this album which I really love how she shows the different side of her sound. Also, I really think that it isn't really for mainstream audience but merely for people who's been suffering on Mental Disorder (esp. Bipolar Disorder) I, myself, had been diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2 last year and I can totally relate to most of her songs (3am, Clementine, I HATE EVERYBODY) and it reflects that particular part of me when I'm in that certain phase of mood.

Beautiful stranger was about Dominic Harrison AKA Yungblud which is the cutest thing ever! They dated briefly but still are friends. You should definitely react to his music it’s so unique and different. Yungblud and Halsey even have a song together.

this is probably my favourite album of all time and i've listened to it so many times but every time it just gives you something new. you find a new meaning behind the lyrics or you find something in the production you hadn't noticed before. this video was so cool to watch because i listened to it with you, as if it was the first time listening for me too and you pointed out things that i had never noticed. so thank you for this, very much appreciated! i do wish you listened or talked about the lyrics a bit more though because i think the production and lyrics have a lot to do with each other. for example more is about miscarriages/endometriosis and that's why there was so much lullaby-like sounds etc.

The end of Forever with the changes and the fade out at "get his eyes just right". For me its a perfect musical depiction of a switch from a Manic episode to a depressive one with bipolar. Atleast that's the way I interpreted it. Love his perspective on it with the painting.

You should react to Dua Lipa's newest album, Future Nostalgia. It's very 80's inspired and I think there's a lot of things in it that you've mentioned in other videos but put together, it all sounds very futuristic and different from other music.
I love Halsey so much. Her emotions and message resonates throughout her melody, lyrics, or on her songs itself ㅠㅠ. One of my faves 💓 been her fan since Badlands era.

Halsey is a lyrical genius. And when she puts her albums together they are so cohesive.
Also in the end with the dueling voices, Halsey has publically stated that it's the two versions of her, and the screaming is her inside voice screaming to be heard.

Manic is one of my all-time favorite albums to listen through in full, the whole thing is incredibly cohesive and Halsey’s voice is so unique. When you mentioned John Mayer while listening to 3am, I was waiting for you to freak out about his voicemail that made it in the song 😄 I believe she wrote it to express her love for pop punk bands, so you really hit the nail on the head when you talked about Cute is What We Aim For and The Maine!!!

Late comment and I can't search right now to see if someone already mentioned, but after you said any good hook with rap verses is very effective, it seemed important.
SUGA's Interlude - this was during BTS's Black Swan era. The hook and verses perfectly entwined with the theme of wondering "what's in store if I don't love it anymore".
This album is such raw and honest artistry. As an ARMY, I can tell why Halsey said their musical philosophies align - and why she would identify with Yoongi the most. I'm so glad they brought her into my life.

The beginning of 3AM reminds me of the beginning of Heavydirtysoul by twenty-one pilots. You should def listen to Blurryface and Trench!!!☺️
Also, the bridge kinda reminds me a bit of Third Eye Blind’s self-title album, mixed with a hint of Avril Lavigne’s Under My Skin and her song Losing Grip. Sonically speaking.
