I have to say that The Invisible Man is by far my favorite, and it’s absolutely no contest. The visual effects, the plot, the acting, Claude Rains’ voice as Griffin, it’s all fantastic. Also, I’d honestly say that The Invisible Man is the most monstrous out of the bunch despite being technically the most human, for all intents and purposes, Jack Griffin is a slightly above average man with a high intelligence, only difference is that he’s invisible and insane, yet Griffin has a higher kill count than every other Classic Universal Monster combined
Being of English and Romanian blood, I've always had a soft spot in my heart for "Dracula." However, "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" is my all-time favorite Universal monster. Years ago, I contacted Julie Adams. She told me so many great stories about the director, cast and crew of "The Creature." Julie was (and remains) such a sweetheart. God keep ya, Julie!
I’ve been a fan of the Universal Classic Monsters since 2004. I absolutely LOVE that 30 film blu-ray box set. That box set is basically my October marathon. I’ve always favored the 1931 Frankenstein. I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting Ben Chapman (Creature from the Black Lagoon, above water, 1954) before he sadly passed away. He was the one and only Universal Monster actor I have met. He was such a nice man. We talked about all of the Universal Monsters.
In this 1931 Frankenstein, one of the most TERRIFYING scenes in horror movies is when the camera zooms in on the monster's face when you first see it. In my opinion, this has NOT EVER been surpassed!! I am GLAD you gave this a 10!!
I grew up watching these amazing movies as a young child ( Yes I'm old 😂). I think it's awesome that a young person like you loves these classic horror movies as much as I do. I own the same boxset. I can remember being super excited back in the 70s because bbc2 ran classic horror double bills which aired on Saturday nights. ❤
By the way Werewolf of London (1935) was far superior to The Wolfman. In this one, he didn't have as much facial hair, so you can see the grimaces, and ferocity better. The way Henry Hull attacks his victims is scary as hell, especially when he looks at them!! Definitely watch this one.
So good to see young people liking these movies, good reviews! You left out Dr Jekyl and mr Hyde and Island of Lost souls, (the 30's versions) not Universal movies but a hoot!
I think you will enjoy the Mummy sequels. Those are what you are looking for. The original Mummy is different than what many today would expect. However, Karloff’s performance makes that film awesome.
@@AndaKentI noticed at the beginning of the video that you own the 30 film collection. The Mummy Complete Legacy Collection, in your box set, contains 5 sequels. Those movies are awesome. I think you would like those. The 1999 Mummy is really based on the first two classics.
Brilliant intelagent lady good in depth knowledge of universal monsters wich as always been my passion.love the reviews of the monster classic one of my favourite lines ever in lugosi dracula there are far more worser things than death eternal he'll and his thirst for blood.
You should definitely check out Bride of Frankenstein (pretty sure you've seen this one) and Son of Frankenstein (especially) if you haven't. Frankenstein meets Wolfman is pretty good as well.
Love that a young person as yourself has such great passion for these Universal gems. Excellent reviews! Please do yourself a favor, and listen to the commentaries. Especially for "the Mummy", and in Creature. Fountain of information, Bob Burns is horror hoot!
The Mummy movies you may be interested are the Kharis series of the 1940’s with Lon Chaney.Jr. Those are more about the bandaged mummy walking round killing people which you expected from the 1932 film.
My Lord Miss, you remind me of one of my favorite ghosts 👻 An amazing woman I lost long ago... My favorite is Dracula🦇 I was Dracula for Halloween 🎃 many times, and had many Dracula action figures growing up, then I got to play him in my highschool play, the same weekend that Gary Oldman's Dracula movie came out, so there was Dracula fever everywhere. It was a dream come true for me. Then I played him again several times as the host of a haunted house 🏠 Halloween walkthrough. Dracula and all the Universal Monsters will always be loves of my life, and after-life as well 😉 Thank you so much for doing this video. I'm so happy that people still love these movies.
That's amazing! I imagine Dracula would be a fun role to play. It's crazy how some of these movies still hold up. Dracula has a unique and creepy atmosphere to it that really makes it an enjoyable classic.
I actually haven't seen this one. I'm not sure why it wasn't included in this collection but it is absolutely on my list. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll watch it soon.
Best classic Universal horror film is Bride of Frankenstein. I do not consider creature from the black lagoon to be a horror film - it is sci-fi. New 4K box set is great. Good review.
My ranking would be creature from the black lagoon the wolfman Frankenstein Dracula the invisible man phantom of the opera and then the mummy that's how i would rank them in my list
The Dracula novel by Stoker is probably the best horror/gothic novel there has been, and it's worth reading. The Frankenstein novel by Shelly was bad and the movie conception is better.

Wow, that's so awesome! What a cool experience. They really are fantastic films.

It's such an atmospheric, creepy film! There is absolutely a reason Frankenstein's monster is a huge part of pop culture.
@@AndaKent Better in black n white than color.
Frankenstein is my fav also🎃

Thanks for the recommendation. I will absolutely check this one out!
It’s def not better than the Wolfman. Lon Chaney He’s performance as Larry Talbet and the Werewolf are far superior to anything in Werewolf of London.
@@AndaKent it Is great, but The Wolfman is still better.

It is so good to see someone giving these movies some love. Totally agree with Frankenstein being #1
They've got some fantastic films!

I did watch one remake that was what I wanted. This one was very different than I expected, but still fun to watch.

I want to do an entire video ranking all Frankenstein original films. I think that would be so fun!
Thanks for this video! Where is the best place to watch these classics?
I watched them all from the boxset in the description. My friend just happened to have it.
One thing i don't get about Dracula is why does it have Armadillos and Possums? It's quite strange.
You should see if you can find the 1925 version of The phantom of the opera. It’s incredible

Thank you! That's a great suggestion. I'll definitely have to do that.

The thing about the Invisible Man is that to go unseen he had to go naked which is impractical and uncomfortable in the weather they have.
Try 1959’s hammer version if the mummy
Or the hammer Frankenstein series, Cushing is so evil! Different monster every movie, in one it's a she!
I have that Universal Classic Monsters 30 Film Box Set. Not in Blu-Ray, but, it is still amazing! Phantom of the Opera is my favorite of the bunch!
My Lord Miss, you remind me of one of my favorite ghosts 👻 An amazing woman I lost long ago...

I prefer the silent version of Phantom of the Opera with Lon Chaney.
I actually haven't seen this one. I'm not sure why it wasn't included in this collection but it is absolutely on my list. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll watch it soon.
Try Hammer's The Mummy from 1959.
I've seen THE INVISIBLE MAN along time ago and loved it. I like the going insane parti agree with the 9/10
Best classic Universal horror film is Bride of Frankenstein. I do not consider creature from the black lagoon to be a horror film - it is sci-fi.
New 4K box set is great.
Good review.
I definitely want to do one on just Frankenstein movies. Thank you :)
My ranking would be creature from the black lagoon the wolfman Frankenstein Dracula the invisible man phantom of the opera and then the mummy that's how i would rank them in my list
I really do Creature from the Black Lagoon. Such an underrated film.
Creature from the black lagoon is awesome very underrated movie I agree
You should have watched the 20s phantom of this opera
The '40s and 50s mummy sequels
I love to see such a beautiful woman with such enthusiasm for genre classics. Thank you for this video!
I'm doing a similar series. I'd love to collab sometime! Great video.
Thank you!
You should really watch The Mummy’s Hand! Kharis might be the type of mummy you’re looking for!
You are so gorgeous 😍
