Super Session/Super Swell - Teahupo'o May 2013

After 44 years of documenting big swell moments I have decided to create a new playlist of edits. I have filmed some amazing days of surfing from around the world over those years and thought that a number of these historic swell events need to be shared to my subscribers. When we chase a swell i go in with all intentions of filming everything from the surfers' journey to those incredible waves they surfed. So this is the first of many future edits. May 2013 was an epic four days of surf with nothing under 10 feet. Mostly tow, Teahupo'o certainly showed its teeth. Featuring Mark Mathews, Laird Hamilton, Billy Kemper, Dean Morrison, Laurie Towner, Mark Healey, Garrett McNamara, Kohl Christensen, Ryan Hipwood, Richie Vass, Maya Gabeira, Keala Kennelly, Nathan Fletcher & locals like Manoa Drollet & Raimana Van Bastolaer. @surfing visions I don't know about other people but I just love straight raw footage at normal speed with quick edits and without music, i reckon it truly demonstrates the size and power of the waves. I'm just putting that out there, maybe it'll manifest into something in the future, aha

21:56 How about those photg fins coming into frame right under the lip. There's a part of me that wants to believe he made it, but surely there's no way, right? That lip cracking that hard a couple feet away from him must mean that guy got sucked over. Can't even imagine how far up his throat his stomach must've felt while trying to scratch out when he saw that line on the horizon. Makes me wanna puke. Then after the sprint of his life and probably gased, he still gets detonated and thrashed.
