- This Swell Chase takes the award for one of the best paddle sessions i’ve EVER filmed.
Ask Nathan Florence, Billy Kemper, Jo Jo Roper, Benji Brand, Soli Bailey & the Coffin brothers. Cloudbreak was at its absolute dreamy best.
Having arrived back into Sydney on the Monday after 5 months in Europe to catching an early flight out the following morning to Fiji.
2 days later on Thursday the 7th of March this edit shows how historic this day was. Enjoy.

I only experienced Cloudbreak once in my long lifetime. One ride many years ago when it was not well known. Its almost a metaphysical experience. Its quite different to Teahupoo which is just raw, dangerous power that last only a few seconds. Cloudbreak seems to take you on a journey and holds you in its hand like it welcomes your presence. When you flip over the back as it closes out, you have a feeling of serenity and beauty, not survival. Its unique. It changes you and restores you. You never want to leave.

Tim, I am now 67 and whilst my body is a bit screwed and cant surf any more my 2 boys do. I am and always will be a surfer in spirit, but only watch, dream and remember now. Mother ocean certainly smiled on all the guys in the water including you. I have never seen such an amazing session ever at this size!
67 here with disabling arthritis. I was lucky through surfing the South Pacific in my youth.
Me too, I'm in my 60's and have a fucked back due to working in the oil field and started surfing when I was 9 years old, I've had to stop surfing bigger waves and now have a 10 foot mal and occasionally get out there and relive my youth but in two to three foot surf. As long as you keep moving the body will get through it, stop and you seize up like a rusty ol gate. Keep moving forward my chiropractor tells me. I also have a kayak and that keeps me moving too. Stay young, coz old ain't fun.😂
Cloudbreak must be among one of the 7 wonders of surfing.

Surfing in those conditions is one of the most radical things in sports, in anything. Billy Kemper, unreal, and how about Laura Enever, wow, takes legendary beatdowns and comes back for killer rides. Stoked just to hear these guys after, they're stunned, in bliss. Epic video, great photography.

What a freaking day. I watched the Nathan Florence's video of this day and it was just incredible as is this one. It honest to God looks like a painting it's just a perfect wave Cloud break is amazing pretty much always but with that blue water and that perfect wave and you throw some sides to it it's just becomes Epic. I don't think I ever heard so many" oh my gods" being said in a video in my life. RLTW 3/75
I like the painting analogy. I was thinking like a moving painting and the artist didn't even bother painting clouds. Didn't need them.

I was sitting on the lounge watching this and whooping, ducking, cringing and just gobsmacked. That was the best footage and record of a special special day. The best surfers in the world just holding edges and almost all going quite strait shows how they make it look easy on such crucial friggen’ 20 foot magic. Thankyou Tim !!

After seeing quite a few awesome videos like this one now of this incredible session it is still hard to fathom the sheer size of these waves and barrels as the conditions are so perfect and glassy it is like watching a dream
What can one say about a session of such sublime surf, surfing and surfers? Love the interviews with such a lovely bunch of humble, gifted and articulate human beings. Great footage - a credit to all involved.
Credit to the surfers but the Queen here has to be the wave itself, utterly magical...a day when God/The Mystery gives us a twinkling smile.

I only ever had 'Cloudies' twice in my life---(Too addicted to D/Pnt and G-Land in Indo' I guess! but--One of those two sessions was one I'll take to my grave as being in my TOP 10 ever!
