I can say the Vapor 15 Elite is the easier boot to live with. It’s a speed boot with broad appeal. The highly engineered Vaporposite+ is plenty thin and pliable, without sacrificing any lateral stability. There is some initial firmness from the upper at first, after the first couple of wears it breaks in nicely. It does a remarkable job giving you plenty feedback on the ball while taking some of the edge off. Little more of a decade of Mercurial experience with almost a year of having and wearing Vapor 15s, I can confidently say they are the most comfortable Mercurial Nike has put out. From the tips of my toes to the end of my heel I’ve had minimal problems regarding comfort. It’s done without forgetting the main characteristics of a Mercurial. The Crazyfast+ on the other hand is catered to the most excitable speed boot connoisseur. If you already like thin and lightweight boots, then these might me up your ally. There is no padding whatsoever in this paper thin semitransparent upper. You feel everything. There should be a warning. It’s definitely not for everyone. You’re gonna feel the sting of receiving a very hard pass, or having a poor shooting technique. If you are coming from a plush leather boot or anything with a more substantial feel these are whole different dimension. The fit well and are decently comfortable from brand new. I only has to deal with some tightness in the forefoot, but that subsided after the first use. No issues with fit or comfort from me. The soleplate is pretty stiff at first but is gradually and swiftly becomes more flexible creating a nice synergy with the upper. But the heel is fabulous, much much better than the Speedflow/Ghosted heel that would pinch me. It hold my heel in place with a secure yet gentile caress. There is plenty of padding for something this insanely thin and minimalist. The X has been a hit or miss with me, but I personally dig the Crazyfast+. Just beware of what they are. Oh and it’s $300, in my opinion they are overpriced. If I ever get another Crazyfast+ it’s gonna have to be on sale. The Crazyfast+ is kind of it’s own thing with a Mizuno MIJ tier price tag. It’s tough to compare them to more mainstream options. From my point of view the Crazyfast.1 laced is the Vapor 15 Elite’s main competitor from Adidas, simply for the price point they start at.
i agree with you 100% i was pretty disappoint by the vapor 14 elites upper but the vapor 15 elite was absolutely amazing. it is a much better all rounder boot than either the speed portal or the crazyfast. the crazyfast+ in general just feels kinda unfinished to me so it’s hard for me to like them or rate them highly. overall tho i’d still take mizuno alpha japans over both lol
@varelaiazul817 thanks for the detailed feedback. I read the whole thing. I was thinking about the plus, but this change my mind. I love thin, but i hate the pain 😂.
I had the Vapor 15 and honestly found them to be very average. Went true to size and definitely had heel slippage. It's comfortable but the fit is definitely more general than back when Nike was creating masterpieces like the Vapor 13. If you're not obsessed with having a swoosh on your boot I think there are a lot of better speed boots out there.
I had to size down, and it was 100% worth it. A bit tight in the toe box but it feels like your foot is so much closer to the ball when playing around.
If I wanted crazy fast I’d just play barefoot lol. But no seriously, about a year ago I was in search of this new adidas crazy fast boot bc I’ve had great experiences with adidas! I couldn’t get any F50’s in my size and this boot wasn’t out yet so I decided to go with the new mercs and must say that I love the air zoom in the forefoot and the overall lockdown/support/comfort of them! While it hurts to get your foot stepped on in any boot, I’m sure It’d triple in the crazy fast with that thin material! I think I’ll stick with the Vapor 15’s, as I’m sold with the way that they feel/perform!
I have them both. The heel lock in Crazyfadt+ is not great. With twist and turn on pitch I felt my heel was moving hence I constantly had to stop to tie my laces harder. But my Nike superfly fit and foot lock is just amazing. I’m usually an Adidas guy but the new Vapor 15 and Superfly 9’s a little bit extra forefoot space has won me over.
my son prefers the mercurials over the adidas. He had the X Ghosted.1s and were too thin. Getting stepped on eventually led him to swap to speed boots with a little more skin.
for me you can’t go wrong with the old school adidas Copa Mundial. Comfortable, durable - will last you several seasons and they get better the older they are. So unless you have a heap of cash to buy a new pair of these new boots each season, or are a pro getting them for free, then I would stay away from them.
Its a big upgrade, but aslo is a big increase of injuries when step on feet. Its your option, would recomend using the nemeziz for training and the crazyfast for games. So you extend both boots life time.
I was very disappointed in the crazy fast because it has the same soleplate as the speedportal and no carbon and no traction, while the speed protal had small control zones, the mercurial is much better, more grip, more aggressive cleats, the air zoom is very flexible, so the best speed boot is the Mercurial as always.
Do not ever buy Mizuno's they are so overrated I bought them with high expectations but when I got them and played with it, it dint live up to my expectations. It was so bad that I only used it once and I switched back to my old boots.
It’s crazy to me after just doing a bit of basic foot shape analysis that almost no conventional football boot or really dress shoe is anywhere close to the shape of the foot
The idea of football boots entirely is to mold around your foot and provide you grip and sometimes protection while on the pitch. Maybe there's a reason why there's no "foot friendly" football boots out there. Blisters possibly? Well if you hate tight boots you can go for wider foot options like Puma football boots or go like half a size up for example.
Also when playing football you're always taking sharp turns so I don't know how that will turn out if you're wearing "foot friendly" football boots. I don't know though it's just my opinionm
Jay, do you know if they've changed the AG soleplate on the mercs to prevent them from cracking like the other colourways? Or if Nike at least have addressed it?
The X18.1 or the Mercurial Vapor XIII are alot better my opinion. I have a pair of Mercurial Vapor 12 Pro with a better upper Teijin synthetic like. An durability is top notch
Since I play in US, most fields are AG and adidas AG options are very limited... which led me to abandon my 15 years of adidas boot lineage 😂 Superfly 9 is amazing so far

Are the Nike Mercurial’s 9 good for wide feet? I just got the ag pair of the vapor 15, ive had the last 6 elite mercurial's and i can say ive felt nothing quite like it.
