    Absolutely killer demo. I aint even in the market for an acoustic, and now im GASing for an AEG-1. Well done Zach!!

    I did NOT expect to hear Seal’s guitarist play an Opeth song in an acoustic demo today, that was cool.

    Geezus. That guitar sounds insanely good. Especially when you consider that it's only 2.5 inches deep.
    I have a Taylor 150ce dreadnought and it absolutely sings... I tried an entire room full of Gibson, Martin, and Taylor guitars before I found the one that spoke to me. This is pretty close but I love how it has it's own sound. My eyes got wide and I sat up the moment you played the first chord.

    If it weren't for this demo, I wouldn't have pre-ordered the AEG-1-the official demos don't feature enough strumming for me to get a grasp of how it will sound as an all-around rhythm guitar. Can't wait to play it for myself when it arrives on Monday!

      Very good point. Strummed tone is the hardest thing to get right with acoustic guitar transducers.

    The Lava and Lag guitars are great innovators for what they do, but this Baggs aeg-1 has such great tone. Love to get one, but I live in Canada. This guitar could be pricey here.

    Wow !!! What an incredible sound !!! Compared with my American Acoustasonic telecaster, the sound of this AEG-1 seems waayyy more natural & realistic !... Hope these beauties will soon be available in Europe (France) !

    This LR Baggs guitar is what Fender failed to achieve with their Road Worn thin bodied guitar. LR Baggs knocked it out of the park for a touring, busking, and travel guitar! It would definitely cut through the mix better on stage against a bass, drums, and possibly other guitars and instruments. It’s clearer and airy while still remaining balanced and full bodied. Wtg LR Baggs (and sorry Fender)!
    I’m scared to hear what the asking price will be, but maybe they’ll come up with a more affordable version at some point later.

    This feels great, sonic spectrum of chord voicing, attack, sustain and harmonics are entirely new. I've been using pickups in my guitars of all kind for 45 years. I have an Anthem system in my Taylor 514ce. This sounds better that that. Really does sound like the guitar is on mic. Flat neck is also great if you play up the neck. I returned a $3k T5z for this. The popular plywood is nicely done too. Very

    Well-done, impressive demo. If it had a stereo out so you could process the two transducer sounds in a more custom way, I'd be very tempted. As it is, it has a boxy sound that I don't like, which could perhaps be tamed by some subtractive EQ on the mic. Maybe I'd just need a different mic/plate balance than was used in most of this demo.

  • @michaelallen1966
    @michaelallen1966 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Great demo. The pick up sounds natural. But it does still sound like a very thin-bodied guitar (but that is probably something a bit of EQ and short reverb can fix).

    That is the best amplified acoustic tone I've heard: clear, detailed and balanced. It's no surprise that the guitar was designed 'from the ground up' for that purpose. Most amplified acoustics are exactly that: acoustic guitars that have had an amplification system added to them. No wonder that they sound compromised, or - at worst - like two different instruments depending on how they're used.
    (Just don't call the body 'plywood' 😱.)

    Wooooah! Amazing piece of kit! Gotta try one. First found out about it from Aaron Short (here on TH-cam), who also posts a few videos showing it, the latest being one that - like your video - also gives us a direct comparison between the AEG-1 and a piezo-based guitar (in Aaron‘s case, a Cole Clark). Very revealing, and this video drives home the point that LR Baggs have really hit the nail on the proverbial head. So maybe I should cancel my pre-order of the new Yamaha TAG3 C and get the AEG-1, instead…. ;-)

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@im58woody Haha - now THAT‘s the spirit I love!!! So will you break the news to my wife? ;-) But honestly, you‘ve probably just hit the nail on the head, since the two guitars accomplish two completely different things, each beautifully. Might have to finally unload some of my unplayed guitars (including a vintage Martin D-35) to justify it, but getting both is indeed a nagging thought in the back of my twisted mind…

    • @im58woody
      @im58woody 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I really like what Baggs has done with this guitar. I hope he has plans to expand the range of models to include a OM size and maybe offer a satin finish top, back and sides. Nice job!

    • @scottbecker3485
      @scottbecker3485 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@im58woody I second your longing for an OM size (at least, as long is the unplugged tone is still inspiring enough for a bit of sofa practice). And a satin/matte finish would be my preference, too. Would also very much like more „seasoned“ (torrified) color of „natural“. The current „natural“ is quite pale for my taste, and the sunburst isn‘t my favorite, either.

    • @im58woody
      @im58woody 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@scottbecker3485 Maybe Lloyd should have us sit down with him and the design team to discuss future projects lol. I would go with a slightly thicker body too. I think the thing that makes acoustic guitars sound great is the depth of the body. I bought and sold every Fender Acoustasonic because the tone just wasn’t right for me with the Fishman electronics and the thin body.

    • @johnmorrell
      @johnmorrell 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You got it. It's for working musician who play in a lot of different venues and need a consistent sound with minimum tweaking, and , a great acoustic live sound. It's not really designed for the couch. It will come to life over an amp or PA.

    Good demo, but not “fair”… Please forget piezo, nobody really use it anymore. I have on all my acoustics (Sj200, Lowden, Martin) the fabulous LR Baggs Anthem, I can compare it easely with a Maton sistem, maybe just because has been correctly installed. However Baggs is indeed a genious in acoustic amplification and was only a matter of time to produce somenthing really usefull for big stages. I dig it, but is an instrument on is own. At the moment I prefere a “conventional” guitar.. with all the problems it gives🤷🏻‍♂️👍❤️
