Honestly the custom game servers are utterly broken everywhere. I'm in U.S East but 90% of the time if I end up making a lobby its in either Peru or Chile. I sometimes get U.S servers but even then connecting can sometimes take upwards of a minute or two.... valve has utterly just destroyed custom games.

Infinite agi scaling TA, You could've just picked boots and vampire fangs from neutrals and beat it anyway. Yeah your early damage would've been way worse but that just means you need to do more hits per enemy, which just means more agi :D

I bought the lvl 50 compendium without even checking how it works or what's in it because I see it as "This 25€ is my yearly small contribution towards esports" and I ended up getting it to lvl 160 (mostly through getting a top 1% Fantasy result) but going forward, no more blind purchases. Maybe instead next year I go and make a donation to a team I like directly or something, who knows.
There was a few decent voice lines in the rewards but that's about it. What I really detested though, was the road to TI challenge as it mostly highlighted what was the meta in january or february etc. "Here's a challenge: Play these heroes. Congratz, play the same heroes again. Great you got the points! Here are the same heroes picked by some other team again!" The pro meta is interesting to follow because it's a part of the bigger picture, but just "play this because Tundra picked these heroes in one game against Excelsior 6 months ago" is not that.

You can play arcade just fine just create a lobby on a local server and it it works

Exactly knowing valve, summer cs 2 release was announced but it released in September ITS NOT SUMMER MAN.
I bought the battlepass not because I expected anything good but just wanted to support TI and I think that's what most people's reason for buying it was, as for your example of people buying it out of habit, I don't really think so as it wasn't like they were hiding what they were doing, and if people are buying the compendium only for the items they are most likely waiting to see if there is a second half to the compendium which I think there will be
as for whether it's ethical, who cares valve's main business is making/maintencing games and steam not e sports, luckiky right now ESL is coming back but I think we need more major 3rd party tourneys going forward

Hey baumi, something funny happened today reggarding game design and i thought you might find it funny.
Last year CDPR announced that by the end of 2023 GWENT will no longer get developer updates, all balancing patches from now forward are made by community voting and today we got the first community driven balancing patch and it was incredibly weird. An archetype got killed by changing a single number, theres a card called reaver hunters, that had 2 base power and summoms a copy of itself with half the base power, the community voted to decrease that power by 1. Reaver hunters are now a 1 base power unit that cant activate its ability anymore because it cant create a 0 power copy of itself. Game will turn to absolute clown fiesta in no time.😂😢
One aspect of profit sharing with the ti is publicity, dota was famous for having the largest prize pools and I sure it attracted talent through it, they were alway crapy at marketing the game not guess now they aren't even going to try anymore
