"Crazy violin world" is a good channel for Ivry Gitlis to be on. Because he WAS crazy. He was pretty well neglected until he got old, and became one of the last few survivors of the Carl Flesch class (Ida Haendel being another one of them.) Then suddenly came all this hype about him because he was from that golden age. I have stories about that dude...I won't mention them here but let's just say that he had and still has plenty of dissers. Is that dude AntoniusXX still around on here? I think he was Ivry's agent. Oh lord did he ever try to run me into the ground about some of my comments on Ivry's recordings....like "how DARE you even say such things." Well, if you consider rushing constantly, complete inattention to the score, and basically scrubbing on the strings to be wonderful qualities, okay, but don't waste your life trying to change others' opinions.
