Track & Field, also known as Hyper Olympic in Japan and Europe, is an Olympic-themed sports video game developed by Konami and released in 1983 for arcades. The Japanese release sported an official license for the 1984 Summer Olympics. In Europe, the game was initially released under the Japanese title Hyper Olympic in 1983, before re-releasing under the US title Track & Field in early 1984.
This is a three-loop run.

My favorite game ever in arcade room in the eighties

@@yousefslimani99 NES version has more events, seems to be a combination of this game, as well as the slightly later released Hyper Athlete.
I had this game for my Commodore 64 as
a tape version, and it was pretty good 😺👍, but the NES version was much better 😹😸👍🕹️.
And who remembers HYPER SPORTS? 😺👍🕹️

This game is on the Konami Arcade Hits on DS, but the Chariots of Fire song was sadly replaced.
More like revamped by changing the pitch for a few notes, but it sounds pretty close to the original at least they didn’t remove it entirely.

First time i look at the Arcade version after playing the NES Version a lot as a kid (on a Bootleg Console)
This version looks pretty cool tho, but i feel more nostalgic over the NES version

When I was a kid, for some bizarre reason I thought this game was creepy😅
Invested a lot of time playing this game, it was challenging & fun! I still love the sounds & graphics, especially that crowd roaring, & the sound of the official when he measures, lol.
It’s always interested me how the playable characters look kind of like recolors of Luigi with a different outfit.

This is so unbelievable! Track and field or Hyper Olympics '84 is the best 2D game at the Olympic Games. Like the 33rd in Paris 2024, 34th in L.A. 2028 & 35th in Brisbane in the Olympiads. In the Olympic Video Games
The hurdles crack me up. You're not on the ground long enough to maintain speed. You're just hopping continuously.

Eu me lembro que na época em que se jogava na máquina os caras usavam uma caneta pra apertar os botões. Ficava uma ponta da caneta num botão e a outra ponta no outro botão, e aí ficava mais fácil de se apertar os dois rapidamente e o boneco na tela ia bem mais rápido também.

An alien, the game had a few secret things you can hit for bonus points, the NES has those same bonuses as well.

Dude, you know that you can remove the endless game loop? Just go to dip switches, go to the "After Last Event" and then change "Game Continues" to "Game Over" and there you go. After the high Jump, the game will end instead of loop endlessly.
Thanks though it's not that important. We aren't going to replace an existing longplay just because of a small setting that is just pointless, plus that we also try to show off more of the game.
