Yes city has big amongst many clubs in the Premier league? But not massive when are substantially less popular than spurs in Britain with a substantially smaller UK fanbase than west ham.

The problem is that no lawyer worth his/her salt wants to disclose their evidence at this stage because it might give the other side an advantage.. Both the PL and City went to court to keep the whole thing secret.

If they win it hits the brand of the premier league, if they lose they have no teeth. I would think given the situation again they would have chosen not to have done it the way they have. As an Everton fan I remember being in Maine Road for an FA cup Quarter final many moons ago and you guys beat us 3-1.. you are very different to the red half of Manchester.. much gentler folk with a less hostile attitude to scousers... Everton has been poorly managed of late.. most Evertonians know that we need a big shift in leadership especially now the 777 proposed takeover could be ratified.
The problem is Everton feel used as a test case by the Premier League as the Government Regulators are poised to intervene ..
Smaller clubs financially are being squeezed and the break away Super six in the English game which includes you guys have probably taken the game away from its original form which is sad.
Let’s hope the greed and obvious double standards in the game will be cleaned us so we can all have our game back.
I live in France where the clubs can never play PSG on a level play field which ultimately devalues the game.
I hope City can be proven innocent as you play some breath taking football .. enjoy the run in as you battle it out with Arsenal and Liverpool.. only wish we could give you guys a game as we use to pre premier league and sky sports on Saturday afternoon at 3. O’clock.. I know those days are gone forever.

There will be no relegation for city. It was established in the Everton tribunal , that the biggest crime is going into administration. Then receiving a nine point deduction. Meaning city at most can receive an eight point deduction.

The PL have got trouble coming with this no matter what the outcome is. I heard people hinting a few weeks ago that the PL had been trying to do a deal with City but as said in the last section it's not in their hands anymore so I can't see how this could be the case. As for City asking for a deal I just can't see it. They've said since the beginning of this they want this done with once and for all and to clear their name. Also if City did approach the PL about a deal it would be the perfect opportunity for the PL to get Coty for something and actually have the evidence there and then which is something I point out to people when they talk about the brown paper bag thing.

Man City had zero issues with FFP when the idea was being bandied around long before their takeover in 2008.

@samwize28 100% agree. City could be falsely relegated before a UK court of law overrules the decision. At that point the EPL have tainted citys reputation (and destroyed themselves as a league) at which point City sue them for defamation potentially to the point where the EPL becomes broke and implodes as the damages that would impact City as a result would be astronomical

Did city fans complain when we were in the 3rd tier of English football and had no money? ,while utd were spending big money every year and winning everything .there has always been club's with money and some without, why should everything be fair, it never was.
I began following Manchester City after the Welcome To Wrexham documentary came out. I have a season ticket to watch Wrexham matches on Ifollow. What I have enjoyed so much about City is the amazing prowess of its players.
However, dry this episode may have been, I found it extremely informative. The whole FFP and PSR issues have seemed somewhat esoteric to a novice like myself. Now I feel much better informed about the situation.

What's the end game? With financials, I'd you did deeply enough everyone has done something "grey" at sometime or another. What I want to know is which club(s) whispered to the league to go have a look see at the "foreign owned" guys. Those are the ones who should really be investigated by some ethics board.

@10:38 "There is nothing fundamentally wrong with PSR" - yes there is, it is protectionism against owner investment to improve a club. It is simply ANTI-COMPETITIVE. Financial rules were sold over a decade ago as a mechanism against insolvency, but the rules did not address debt?!?

Great interview, nice to actually hear from someone who is qualified to talk about a subject. Ultimately FFP was brought in to protect the Bayerns, Uniteds, Real Madrids and Barcas of this world. One thing I would have liked to have seen covered, which incidentally shows the major flaw and hypocrisy of the FFP rules, is why is the amount you are allowed to spend is based on turnover and not profit? In what world does a financial regulation make sense that if a club is losing £1bn a year, it's fine and you can continue to spend providing that you are turning over say £700m? It is the world where Barca, Madrid and United are all racked with debt but popular and therefore still have decent income. The rules ENCOURAGE irresponsible ownership, they encourage debt and now look where Barca have ended up - selling assets (and future assets) off like crazy to stay afloat, not paying players, not paying transfer fees. That's fine though according to UEFA, carry on as you are and spend your time going after the club that is actually in profit each year and has zero debt.
