    Any idea on what the lead time is? I am interested, however if it is one of the wait for a year and maybe. Ugh , I hope not.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Right now he's expecting 6-8 weeks which is crazy fast. You can always call to get the most current times but he strives to keep lead times as short as possible.

      @@FClassJohn Wow that is fantastic. I will call on Monday. Just when I am about to go on a rant of , I can not get what I want within a human life span, lol. Thank you very much for your response, as usual, your channel is fantastic and informative. Thank you.

      The leed time on any of the top quality front rests is horrible.

    • @toddcumberland132
      @toddcumberland132 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@richrudley2650 yup, it is maddening. In the field of woodworking there is a whole business model on not having anything on hand , everything is pre order and wait however long. Heck they even pull the one time tool thing. Which means they will not make any more , no matter how much demand there is. In bench rest and some other shooting disciplines, I find it is best to ignore the "new" market and simply shop the used market. Making the hardest part of competing is actually getting the gear you want. Makes one long for the days of sandbags and iron sights. That stuff you can al least buy. :)

    Always good content John....Interesting having the stop off the gun fore end and stopping on the rest from the rear. Is that new or have I not been paying close enough attention?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. The ‘pin stop’ is something I learned from Erik about a year and half ago it works great for me. It’s not without its pitfalls as you have to make sure you set your rifle up correctly with it and always carry a back up in your range bag in case something happens to the one in the gun. Just a different way to do it but for me, it helps save weight on traveling and size.

    I can see how easy it would be to get scoped with this mode of shooting. Probably a fast learning curve.

    Is ur foreend set in some kind of locked rail? Only rearward movement under recoil. Totally interested in F-class but know nothing. I like to learn about any & all shooting disciplines. Thank you for the video.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, there's no locking of any kind. The stock just rests on the front rest and by rule must be able to go in and pull out without any restriction. But yes, the idea is to have a front rest and rear bag setup that allows the the gun to recoil unobstructed backwards.

    • @ericlindholm7510
      @ericlindholm7510 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okey dokey,. I know y'all shoot 308, do you use muzzle breaks to stop upward recoil, are they allowed by the rules?

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ericlindholm7510 only people that shoot FTR use a 308. But whether you shoot FTR or Open muzzle brakes are not allowed in any way shape or form.

    Did you shorten the joystick rod? Mine is really long and wouldn’t fit in a small bag like you have.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No that’s how he sent it to me but they’re easy to cut yourself and shorten.

    John… what front “rest rider” were you using on your chassis? I have been looking for one of those.

    • @FClassJohn
      @FClassJohn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm assuming you're asking about may Rimx 22lr? It's a custom one I made on my CNC machine using Delrin and then I attached an arca rail clamp to the top.
