Fairbourne Railway - A Centenary of Steam

Celebrating the 100 years of steam on the Fairbourne Railway. Originally 15inch steam line, in 1986 the line was regained to 12.25inches and new locomotives arrived. Three of these steam locomotives where is use over the weekend on an intensive timetable. A small length of 15inch gauge line has been relaid over recent years and to celebrate 100 years of steam, three 15 inch gauge locomotives returned to the line. In service with Count Louis and Katie. King George (built new for the Fairbourne in 1916)was the third 15inch gauge visitor, but only on static display as her overhaul wasn't completed in time.

Reminds me of holiday in the 50's when it was 6p to go to "bathing beach" from town. We stayed in a house opposite the railway yard.
