In this video we look at how to paint a bloodletter daemon of khorne for warhammer 40k or warhammer fantasy

I hope you display the army when you're finished.
This seems to be the only video that does it similarly to the Citadel app's guide (which I used to buy paints) and not with contrast paints (like everyone else on TH-cam. So that's handy to get started. I'll probably try the other way, too, at some point, to see what's easier or turns out looking better.

Great video! I have 60 of them laying around and its time I finally paint them! (I hope I won't go crazy from this) Luckily I got pretty much all the colours you used as well (except 2 of the colours you used for details). Even thought I have more than enough Mephiston red, do you think Khorne Red would work as well? I got a spray of it and it would save quite some time.
Khorne red is a different color. it has a little blue and it looks a litttle red violet but its pretty good as a basecoat. you can substitute it for mephiston red and the highlights should cover it up. your shadows will look a little different though. You could clean up after washing the model with mephiston red and I think it would look pretty similar. if you look at the bloodcrusher video I made you can see the two different reds mephiston red on the bloodletter and Khorne red on the Juggernaut.

Id recommend if you have many to paint you do as much as you can based off your energy and the paint left in your palette after each color change. This will be very economical for paint use and doing the same step over and over again will get easier and easier so you will get much more efficient at that method then switched out steps on one model. Different for very large models though because each step usually takes some time on the one model.

I'm running a black legion army and I'm going to add some blood letters into them and i know for a fact that they don't get a lot of the khorne abilities that the daemons would get if they were from khorne So my question is, what abilities do the bloodletters get from black legion? And what abilities do they not get from khorne?

Do you want to play them as part of a Daemonkin Army attached to your Black Legion or do you want to play them as allies along with your Black Legion (CSM Codex or Supplement) using the normal Daemon Codex?
Daemons of any God are no longer Part of the Chaos Space Marine Codex, so they don't get anything from your CSM Codex. You have to field them either as a Daemonkin Detachment or an Daemonforces Detachment.
How do you get the hard to reach undersides and crevices? I've struggled to do that with my space marines. For instance, the missle launcer on the Drop Pod.

When you're applying the evil sunz scarlet you say "if you wanna take your time you can glaze this color for a smoother transition"- I'm new, what do you mean by this? Great video man!!!
In case you haven't been told yet, Glazing is a term for applying paint like a wash, but even further watered down, so it's more of a tinting tool than a shade. GW makes glazes such as Guilliman Blue and Bloodletter. Hope this helps.

You can paint yours with none of these colours and any number of steps you want. Theyre yours afterall. Paint to your satisfaction.
Nice tutorial. But the model needs better preparation. These gaps between parts are really visible.
they are pretty bad theses models go better with certain legs and bodies and mine have no gaps at all only i few i have had to green stuff on the arms
