This was at a time when street skating was taking over. For a couple of year vert guys board sale probably dropped dramatically. Street skater board were selling in droves. Hensley, gonz, stranger, etc. Company's were dropping vert guys often having just street guys and the token vert guy. This is why u saw ramp skaters trying to keep relevant in changing times by having street parts. Like hawk, d way, c mckay. Crazy when you think that what we now see as legends probably had low board sales and even may of worried about place on team. Probably why a lot started own companies.
This is so much more entertaining than a lot of the parts from today.. they didn't care about their style or anything, they just skated and skated and loved what they were doing. I really like how a lot of the clips are clearly from the same day, just trying trick after trick and just throwing it in there, not caring about style, and they all killed it at this time. Style isn't really everything, but honestly to me these guys had a lot of style, because you can see so much in just the way they skated and not only that but they really believed in their skating and what not.. idk. I just wish I was apart of it somehow, back when skating was just skating and something you really love doing. Someday I want to have a group of real friends and just do what these guys did.
another cliche "hurrrr muh style hurrrr" post. new skateboarding is leagues above this in style, skill and overall capabilities, everyone knows feeble boomers just dont like change. Dont be a crybaby cause you cant kickflip.
cappucino108 were not boomers, we're gen x' ers, u millenials are just stuck up snobs, obsessed with ur damn robot style, and clique bullshit, we accepted peoples differences
@@cappucino108 it is illogical to attempt to compare style, skill and overall capabilities between eras in an artistic sport such as skateboarding. You can certainly see obvious development over nearly 30 years, but to cast aspersions on someone's ability or adaptability based upon their romanticism is to broadcast one's ignorance. Good day to you.
Ironically I remember 92 as the year skating went nearly full hip-hop in most circles. It was a dark time for companies; Jeremy Klein, for instance, supplemented his income by working a gamer help desk (guess which system lol). You can see the genesis of modern stye in guys like Mariano, Koston, Howard, whereas a lot of lesser street pros got wiped out by the tech revolution and spat out by the style recovery of 93/94. My point is that in those days, I romanticized about the 80's and how punk things were then. Someday the skaters of 2040 will look back and mock the sensibilities of people like mr. 'ok boomer' over there.
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to uncover bird aviary design plans try Debuncar Amazing Aviary Aid ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my partner got amazing results with it.
I remember calling Birdhouse to order a copy as soon as heard this was coming out and the person who answered the phone apologized that this wasn't a "real" video, they were just trying to rush something out asap that had all the team members on it. Probably because every video of that era was being compared to Questionable. Popped it in the VCR as soon as got it and was blown away.
Wooow, I haven't seen this in 25 years and it's crazy how much I remember. I had a skater friend that had it and when he would land particularly difficult tricks he always used to say, "Yeah, Jimmy that was for you!".
This video in my youth was so inspiring... Learnd a lot Tricks with it and youse to skate with Tony 3 times at the German Monster Master Chip... So legendary video
Watching this in 2019 really makes me wish I skated in this era, where people skated to have fun. I love seeing new skaters pull out gnarly tricks, but I also miss skaters dancing on curbs and having fun.
You can see the talent that hawk had. But it was clearly shown he wanted to fly high. Vert skating was more of his thing. Glad to see such an awesome video of the past. Cheers
wow...completey blown away i had no idea tony ever skated this much street let alone have a full part 🤯🤯 he was super sick! No wonder he was able to learn big flips not too long ago even at his age now wow

Does anyone remember the steve berra four horseman graphics board from back then ? It was the first not shitty board i owned {not rubbish my parents bought for me } ,i rode that board with airwalk nts's to death , would love to have them both back.
This was the first from birdhouse I believe. I can’t remember how but I got the VHS, a t shirt & stickers free….from trans world maybe or Maybe just send my address to birdhouse.
so much style! This is when skating finally got interesting . Boomers were killing it with all the boring hand plants and surfer slides they pretend are the be all end all of skating.
Sad how Willy Santos came into the country in a cage in the hull of an ocean liner. I think he was skating for extra meat and veg just before this video came out.
Came here to hear Bucky sing 'Like a Prayer', stayed for the rad skating 🙌
The legendary Tony Hawk street part.

Tony hitting the streets 🤘🏽!! This was good time in life. Skateboarding is awesome!
Thanks Tony.
tony’s street part in this is easily my favorite of his
My favorite Birdhouse video. Ravers is good too, and they're all good really, but this is just so fun and raw. What skateboarding's all about!
Im in ravers during the fight scene....my buddy was knocking that kid around at ct middle school in tustin when they were filming heath kirtchart
wow...completey blown away i had no idea tony ever skated this much street let alone have a full part 🤯🤯 he was super sick! No wonder he was able to learn big flips not too long ago even at his age now wow
them animations and fonts are the best.
Pretty sure all the editing was done by Tony himself.
@@johncitizen8828 Yup, pretty much. He used to have an Amiga which he equipped with a Video Toaster.
@@blakegriplingph Shit is so raw. Massive respect to Tony - it must've been a hard time stepping out on his own after leaving Powell.

Keep at it
I got this for $5 from a Transworld ad. I watched the HELL out of it. I couldn't go out to skate without watching this first.

Street Hawk is always fun to see even all these years later.

Small wheels, baggy pants and street skating till dark every day!
It would be so much fun to see a Tony Hawk 2015 street part
Or even better,a 2019 part.
Riley for sure, follow his father

Thanks man!
All ripping, Berra killin it on vert.. Nice!
Tony's one and only semi-street part I'm pretty sure. I remember watching this all the time on THE END DVD.
Miadaskate there was a little semi street in the next one "ravers" also, not as much as in this one tho

Tony back in the day he was a street skater but nowadays he's just a person who skates in his back yard lol
LITTLE MONSTAZ you aren't very smart, are you.
Tony was always vert. He was able to adapt enough to street to not end up like Hosoi or Gator.
i paid $5 for this vhs back in the day, mailed in $5 and ot came in the mail.
Buenos trucos de willie santos

Bucky predicted Deadpool & Wolverine decades before it was released. What a chad move.
That’s probably how I skate street now is like tony with a vert flair to it
Is the intro a picture of Jeremy's mom?
Love is all there is when this video came out , I was told it was Tony's wife
