จากคนที่ไม่มีวันเป็น “เพื่อน” กันได้...สู่คนที่ไม่มีวันเป็นได้ “แค่เพื่อน”
ภัทร หนุ่มทะเล้น กากเกรียน และ ปราณ หนุ่มเนี้ยบ มาดคุณชาย ผู้ที่ถูกฟ้าลิขิตให้เป็นศัตรูกันตั้งแต่ยังไม่เห็นหน้า เพราะพ่อแม่เปิดร้านอุปกรณ์ก่อสร้างอยู่ข้างกัน แข่งกันตัดราคา แย่งลูกน้อง เกลียดกันชนิดไม่เผาผี ทำให้ทั้งคู่ถูกวางตัวเป็นคู่แข่งกันตั้งแต่เกิด ไม่ว่าใครคลานได้ก่อน เดินได้ก่อน เรียกพ่อแม่ได้ก่อน ทุกอย่างล้วนถูกเอามาเปรียบเทียบเกทับกัน
แต่วันหนึ่งตอนที่ทั้งคู่อายุ 12 ปี กำแพงความเกลียดชังของทั้งคู่ก็เริ่มมีรอยร้าว เมื่อ ภา น้องสาวของภัทรขี่จักรยานพลัดตกน้ำในคลองหมู่บ้าน ระหว่างที่ภัทรยังทำอะไรไม่ถูก เป็นปราณที่กระโจนลงน้ำไปช่วยภาขึ้นมา เหตุการณ์นั้นก็ทำให้ความสัมพันธ์ของคนทั้งคู่เปลี่ยนไป แม้ภายนอกจะดูเป็นคู่แข่งกันเหมือนเดิม แต่ลึกๆ ข้างในก็ไม่เกลียดชังกันเท่าเดิม
จน ม.3 อาจารย์ให้ทั้งคู่ฟอร์มวงดนตรีด้วยกัน ทำให้ทั้งคู่ต้องใกล้ชิดกันมากขึ้น
4 ปีต่อมา โชคชะตาก็เล่นตลกเมื่อส่งให้ ภัทร เข้าเรียนปี1 เป็นประธานรุ่นฝั่งวิศวะ ขณะที่ ปราณ เป็นประธานรุ่นคณะสถาปัตย์ โดยที่ทั้ง 2 คณะเป็นคู่แค้นกันมานาน ทำให้ภัทรและปราณต้องกลับมาตีกันอีกครั้ง เมื่อภารู้เรื่อง ก็วีนแตก ยื่นคำขาดห้ามภัทรทำร้ายปราณเด็ดขาด เพราะบุญคุณที่เคยช่วยไว้ ทำให้ภัทรไปขอทำข้อตกลงกับปราณว่าจะแอบแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูล เพื่อหาทางหลีกเลี่ยงไม่ให้ทั้ง 2 คณะทะเลาะกัน ปราณเองก็ไม่ชอบมีเรื่องเลยยอมตกลง
ทำให้ทั้งคู่เริ่ม “ความสัมพันธ์แบบลับๆ” ที่จะเป็นเพื่อนก็ไม่ใช่ ศัตรูก็ไม่เชิง แต่บันเทิงใจคนดู
สุดท้ายแล้วมิตรภาพบนความขัดแย้งของภัทรและปราณจะไปสิ้นสุดที่ตรงไหน ความลับจะแตกลงเมื่อไหร่ พ่อแม่จะยอมรับหรือไม่ หรือสุดท้ายจะมีวันที่ความขัดแย้งคลี่คลายหรือไม่

The fact that P’Aof didn’t choose the cliche “hesitation” kissing scene but instead chose the kissing scene where Pran had confidence to take control over his emotions but then regret it later just shows how emotionally mature P’Aof was with his directing! You know you have two incredible actors when they submerge themselves so deep into their role that they then act in their REAL emotions outside of character. That to me is why this series will forever be the most iconic number one series in my book. Bravo to the whole entire cast, this truly was the best BL I have ever witnessed and trust me, I have seen almost every BL 👏🏻

Seeing Ohm wipe his tears and Nanon crying his heart out after finishing the rooftop kiss makes it even more impressive how much they both put into their scenes together emotionally! That kiss went viral for a reason, and that was the way their feelings came across like a punch in the chest for us viewers! I'm even more impressed with how they were able to change mood and film the confession scene from a completely different episode afterwards, thereby wrapping up the filming! Loved seeing Ohm, Nanon and Aof happily hugging once Ohm and Nanon called the filming finished! You all did such a great job, actors, director, the entire crew! You all deserve so much praise and future success!

So basically there are two confirmed times that Ohm decided to act as Pat more emotionally than what P' Aof had in mind. First time when, while lying on the ground with Pran after helping him with the bus stop design, he couldn't help but feel the love. And the second time here, in the ep 5 rooftop kiss, shedding tears because of his new discovered feelings, years of frustation, vulnerability and relief. I adore the way Ohm portrayed Pat against those directions and I'm so happy that the directors decided to keep those scenes. I think it gave more depth to his character, it justified his behaviour towards Pran better and it made Pat more likeable and relatable. His acting convinced us that Pat was slowly falling in love with Pran since younger age, he just didn't realized it. So the extend of his effords to get close to Pran and the burst of his feelings when he acknowledged them didn't come out of nowhere. It was slowly building up, just as Pran's feelings. Throughout the series Ohm gave us small glimpses of how Pran impacts Pat's life, like in ep1 after seeing Pran again he stares into nothing while waiting for his order, when he stared lovingly at Pran when he gave him his guitar or the fact that he was taken aback, it almost hurt, when in ep4 Pran said that he hates him. That's one bl trope that Ohm took down by himself: The "suddenly falling harder" trope.

OhmNanon was so into that heavy rooftop scene, that even after the shoot, they were still crying their hearts out. They got so carried away by their emotions, it's what makes the scene truly the best in the series. Truly, no one could've pulled PatPran better than OhmNanon did.

This rooftop scene alone has cemented Ohm and Nanon as legendary actors of their generation and it’s not because they kissed in this scene but because they made Pat and Pran come alive in this moment.

It's truly impossible to move on from Bad Buddy. Pat and Pran became the stars of our Friday nights, our refuge after a long stressful week, they were the best way to end it basically. This was a series that felt like home, so straightforward, breaking stereotypes, breaking records, and standards. Every scene just hits the spot especially when it's executed by this iconic duo.

Pran's mom and Pat's dad "silent" reconciliation is so realistic! It takes time, which makes it even more so! Especially when Pat's dad is all gloomy but still drinks Pran's gift and makes small gesture of putting the letters in Prans's family mailbox, which Pran's mom notices. The way they loosen up in small steps at a time!

Let's be honest Ohm and Nanon made PatPran what they were. In the behind the director had simple ideas but them as actors that fully understood their characters knew what was the best for the series and delivered real emotions, this series was successful because of OhmNanon experience and love for their work.
