I just activated CarPlay in my 2018 430i Convertible. After agonizing for months over the prospect of disassembling my dashboard to install a wifi antenna and worrying about the potential consequences of third-party software I found Bimmerdoc's videos. Vladimir did an excellent job of describing and illustrating the process, and I decided to go with him. He inspired confidence, and I am not sorry that I chose to go with him. The mechanics of adding the wifi antenna were straightforward and took about fifteen minutes with no problems whatsoever. While there were fits and starts with installing the software, Vladimir answered my questions almost immediately and helped me through the few problems I encountered. I now have fully functional CarPlay in my F33 and I am delighted. Thank you, Vladimir.

Activating Car Play on a G31 was very easy once I had a WiFi antenna installed. The only tricky part was to configure VM-Ware (I used a Mac instead of a PC for this) to let the Feature Installer program do its magic. As such, I had to set 2 network devices as bridged, one for the WiFi, the other one for Ethernet. Once done, everything went well and very quickly. No need to fiddle with Firewalls. I highly recommend this method of Car Play activation.
Just to whine a bit: there was nothing regarding the android at the end of video, but you've promised it :-)

The process of activation is exactly the same for android.
Yes screen mirroring looks a bit different. But it is also doable.

Yes. SLI is also doable if you have Kafas camera installed in the vehicle.

Of Screen is 8.8 Inches AND HU is NBT Evo then yes.

Reverting back works with enet (but to be honest even with enet you cannot revert back 100%). For full revert you need to reflash headunit and install OEM fsc (repair pack).

If you do have WAY maps, then not all is lost.
It still might have CarPlay support if you do have Wi-Fi antenna output!

Поддержка полного экрана зависит от версии софта в Еве а не от платформы куда установлен.

Very good video. What happens when you leave you car into a BMW garage for servicing are then likely to restore it back?
CarPlay will be erased and new activation is needed.
Method shown in that video is a bit outdated. See my newer videos about CarPlay activation. With new method CarPlay can be restored after bmw update via the same code and you don’t need to purchase it again ☺️

Панель так просто не привяжешь.

I have 2019 plate 530e, BMW tell me that I can’t have apple carplay as my car doesn’t have the correct hardware? The screen in mine is identical to the one you just updated. Are BMW correct and it’s not possible in all card or does this work even on my car? Thanks for great video

Hi i have a bmw x4 g02 2018 model and ID5 display type . I guess I have id6 but its a non touch screen. In this case to activate android auto do i need to buy a bimmertech module or something? or can i just connect some OBD Connector and activate. Please advise.
Your headunit does not support android auto. Only screen mirroring and CarPlay.

It might be Entrynav2 and it has limited possibilities.

I bought your full screen apple CarPlay activation and it works great.
The only issue is when I initially activated it, the Apple CarPlay app bar was on the right hand side but recently I had to take my car into BMW and so I used your feature installer to restore back to OEM so it didn’t affect my warranty.
When I used the software again to recode my Apple CarPlay the app bar is now on the left hand side and not the right hand side which is annoying as I’m from the UK and have a right hand side car.
How can I revert it back to the right hand side as before?

That headunit does not support CarPlay anyhow.

I use Carplay in the car every day but with half screen.

Nope. 2014 does not support CarPlay
My NBT EVO version is M. Should I use usb stick or Enet cable? On the telegram bot it told about enet cable on other sources it asks for the usb stick
In current version both activation methods can be used. I do recommend the ENET version, because in that case the same code will work after software update as well.
But USB activation will not work after SW update any more.

So my bmw is lacking the antenna from what I'm understanding. If i find and plug in the wifi antenna, can i do this process?
Yes you can install not OEM WiFi antenna, but OEM antenna is preferred!

Where do I find the bin file for the usb method. Mine is Idrive 5 and software starts with G so would be the old usb method. Car is 2017 x3
Actually you might need to update HU in order to CarPlay work at all!
I’ve tested in G istep level… installation goes as it should, but no CarPlay at the end.

Only if you will reflash your ID4 to ID5 (and adding 2GB of RAM is highly recommended)
