'Linguo IS dead', is such a fantastic line at the end. He not only corrects Homer grammatically, but to the viewer shows a self awareness which makes it funny. But all the more funny is how he says it in the third person, like all those robots in fiction before. And still, he maintains his pretension and pedantry just by emphasising the 'is'. Great, just great. Clever and stupid, that's the Simpsons.

In particular, there's an elementary school that looks a lot like the school I went to for kindergarten (which is now a K-8 school, but its' "West Springfield" counterpart is a regular K-5 elementary school.) Though it's too bad they don't have a French class with a stereotypical Frenchman as the teacher!

As an electronic engineer when she says "quiet please some of us are trying to weld here" just irks me. If you ever go to a college electronic lab on finals most of the time it looks like a very chaotic party, so there is really no silence for you there believe me.

The "in French" laugh is one of my favourite Simpsons gags. It came after the golden era too; what a great gag.
Schwarzwelder was a consultant in the episode though, so it still has the good simpson vibe.

Now that I watched this as older, Linguo was genuinely an impressive invention, you have no idea how complex it is to make a computer understand language to THAT level, where it can take just about any construction and output its grammatically correct version.
