Thank you for this video. I just did mine. Some more info... the motor rests on a tray that can be easily removed by 2 screws. This allows you to remove the whole motor (on the tray) from the dryer. Then you can remove the clamps. If you have old wiring from the original motor to the new, this helped me tremendously: Black = 2, Yellow = 6, Red = 5, Blue = 1, and Grey = 4/or connect to back. Hope this helps.
Thank You Scott I did the same thing has Your Customer did , I had to watch the video again and move the red wire to # 5 and it started right up, Your an Excellent Teacher Thank You.
Thank you Scott , i am working on a maytag stackable and there is a blue wire that wasnt coverd in your vidieo . also the motor i bought did not come with any wireing papper work .... any clues ? for the blue wire
My Kenmore series 80 motor has a different wiring scheme, and the diagram you offer above is not suitable. Is it possible to send you photos of my old motor switch to compare to the switch of my new motor?
Thanks so much for this video. I was replacing motor on my Maytag Dg180. No wiring instructions came in box, so your explanation of where to put wires was perfect. Dryer running since 1984. Thanks again for your help.
Yet another victim of the red wire misplacement, and a lucky watcher of your video. I knew I must have a wiring problem because I had just installed the new motor, but your comments early in the video made for a very quick diagnosis instead of going through it all again wire-by-wire. Just plugging in the dryer made a faint hum and of course it didn't run. Move the red wire one position over and now all is good!
Thanks Scott! I'm wondering about the Grey wire on my old Maytag. There is a Blue jumper wire running from the overload switch to the terminal block on my new motor. I connected the grey wire to the adjoining terminal. (connecting grey to blue) Is this the safe and proper connection? I didnt get wiring instructions with my new motor. Thank You!
Same exact question. New motor came without instructions and with a jumper to the terminal block where Scott shows connecting the grey wire. I wired the grey wire to that 1/8" connection on the motor switch where the jumper wire terminates. Is this correct.
Hello- I have an 1991 maytag dryer de7600. Mice got in it and i have cleaned everything but needed to put in new motor that i got from parts select- i have the correct motor- so 2 motors later and never included a wire diagram, 3 times repair people have attempted to install, phone call to parts select and whirlpool on how to wire correctly - no one can tell me where wires go correctly. Blue wire comes off completely, yellow t6, redt5, black t2, blue to t1. some of the wires need to be on a new size of protector tabs?- and i have gray wire. where does it go? TY in advance
Seems to be a nice video (I'll watch it more after I pull the motor out and when I have to put that belt back on). Bought a replacement motor for my 1998 maytag neptune (from searspartsdirect)… No instruction sheet or anything regarding wiring. Maybe just put it in and that's that? (not likely… but I did see one video where he did just that on a dryer pretty different than mine). Haven't run into any videos regarding replacing the motor specifically on my old dryer, just a bunch of others that have similar motors. Anyway, time to go give those motor mount clips another go...
Well this doesn't really help me wiring a new motor into an old dryer since it doesn't show how to wire it, just how to move one wire! I would love to see this from the start... Thanks anyway.

Great job😊😊😊

Awesome, I really appreciate that😊👍
Where that red was in the picture you showed, is that where I should be putting the ground wire?

Can you send a few pictures of the motor and the wires that connect to it to my email at scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com

Hello Scott.
Can you address the green ground wire? My Maytag lde4914ace had a green ground wire from old motor to motor mount.
What color wires go to which numbers on new style motor?
Can you please send that same question to my email at: scottthefixitguy@yahoo.com
Black = 2, Yellow = 6, Red = 5, Blue = 1, and Grey = 4/or connect to back.
Truly a life saver. I had made the same mistake with my red wire!
Nice job Jordan👍
Just ordered a new motor 10411000 for my mom's Maytag LSG7804aal stacked unit. Going to have to do this too.
Please let us know how it goes 👍
Thanks Scott this video help a lot
Excellent,

There is no Grey wire on my old motor ?

Fortunately it was just change the motor, and plug the wiring clip back in. Sounds like new, which I'd forgotten what that was like.
I hope it helps 😊
Where can I see this diagram?
Here you are: www.aceappliancesd.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/manual1.jpg
Awsome, am on this exact scenario right now.
I'm attempting this change over but I've 2 red wires and you video only shows 1. Help!
Does the ground not matter? Or is it just too obvious to show in the video?
I dont have a yellow wire
