Part of me wishes the era of simplicity had continued till today. The engineering of the 1916 Dodge Brother's car were pretty close to that of the 1928 Ford Model A. But, the brothers died in 1920 and the make stagnated until Walter Chrysler bought it in 1928. Dodge might have been #1 sales in the 1920s.
I am instantly taken back to a memory of my great grandfather going on Sunday car runs when I hear the gearbox. I’m sure I can even smell it.
