BroNovaGaming&Stuff That's the difference: Mispronouncing the movie title"s original wording is kinda annoying. As for Decker, he just randomly fu*ked-up as he ever-so-often do... Both things are noticable and forgivable, but self-awareness and being able to mock himself for his fu*k-ups is why Decker gets a pass in my book!
Yeah, sometimes he's so far off you wonder if he really watched the movie or reading a script! Which that ugly guy, creepy guy , whatever his name is writes most of scripts
the first Halloween was intended to be a movie of a guy killing babysitters. They added the sister drama and cult side story in the sequels. But in originality, Michael was supposed to be some creep who stalked and murdered babysitters.
Tatted Trav That would have been a much better angle to keep. It's a scary thought to escape a killer, but having to protect a child your watching on top of that! That amps it up to a another level.
I really like the fact that they made Micheal and Laurie siblings. It makes it a lot scarier for the audience. Think about it. Being stalked by a pychopathic killer that's the embodient of evil & chaos is scary. But finding out that you're related to that person is even scarier!
I think I can totally agree with Decker's perspective that the original Halloween is a little slow at points, but in terms of Michael's characterisation it's easily the strongest to me; that Michael is not explained at all save for Loomis' insistence he's 'evil' is chilling, and the 'sister' idea is one that makes no tangible sense because - as Decker points out - he didn't make a beeline for Laurie in the original film. And the cult explanation is utterly farcical, especially with the detail added in 6; that Michael is intended to kill his family members as sacrifices for the good of a 'tribe' is stupid, when he only managed to kill one family member at age 6 and fucked up at every turn otherwise.
anthony cheesman that movie was really good to. I haven’t watched it in years. I am going to look it up on firestick thanks for reminding me of that film lol
Not to ACTUALLY you or anything, but the safety features on elevators introduced in 1980 weren't fully implimented by 1981 and many cargo elevators would just close on your hands and expect you to move 'em rather than reopen.
Well I'm not counting it as an actually cos Myers does have super human, physics defying strength by this point and prolly could pry the doors open with his finger tips in a way no normal human could... but maybe scraped knuckles are secretly his canon Achilles heel? :p
Direct quote "..so now changes up to this handy-dandy syringe". That's not up to interpretation. Plus Decker even acknowledges his mistake in the next Halloween video.
DamonM Roger It was at least better than the ones that came after it. The best thing about mask 4 is you can't see his eyes at all, just black holes. This really hammers in Loomis' line about how Michael has "the blackest eyes, the Devil's eyes".
Halloween 1 great mask Halloween 2 great mask Halloween 4 good mask Halloween 5 kinda werid and stupid Halloween 6 stuip looks like clay Halloween H20 EYES TOO BIG WERID MASK HALLOWEEN 8 STUPID SUCKS ASS AND TERRIBLE
I always thought the ambiguity of The Shape made him scary. Not knowing his motives, or why he's seemingly invincible was effective. Introducing the family dynamic was a mistake in my opinion.
I actually think the family dynamic is brilliant. Being stalked by a unstoppable killer psychopath is scary, but being stalked by an unstoppable killer psychopath thats also related to you is even scarier. Its a perversion on the idea that family is sacred. And it really doesn't detract Micheal Myers from being The Shape since it doesn't explain why he's doing what he does.
The really BIG mistake came after the fact, where the filmmakers decided to focus in on that as the main point of Myers, which shackled the sequels to just being about Michael trying to terminate relatives. By part 6, we had established an entire freakin' cult based around a curse that compelled him to do this. That was all an extension of the "killing his sister" M.O. and that is probably why the sibling angle hurts The Shape's mystique in the eyes of many Halloween fans, including myself. It's not _technically_ Halloween 2's fault since it only made them related, but it established something that was _not_ present in the first movie and set that foundation for later (in my opinion) failure. However, I do like the "perversion of the family is sacred" angle you mention, but I think that was kind of already established in the first movie when Michael stabbed Judith. That was there from the start, so we really didn't need an extended version of that.
And I thought I was the only one who wanted to play the main theme for this movie at a dance party it's not as iconic as the original but it's still fun
I've always thought this one was much better than the first one. Halloween 4 is my favorite though. I can't wait to see your review on that one! Also, congrats on the 100k subscribers. I'm actually surprised you didn't have that many sooner. Your movie reviews are the best I've ever watched.
Best kill in slasher history: the injection of air into a persons temple. Disturbing, clever, unique.... amazing. Halloween II was always my favorite, not as slow as the original, not as conveluded or brainless as the rest of the sequels.
I brought up the 7 shot revolver in this one Facebook group and apparently it's some weird error that wasn't in the first movie (where he did just fire 6 times).
They also change the shots from the first film; you can see Michael's actor walk up a ramp to fall here, and the look on Donald Pleasance's face goes from the resigned 'I knew this would happen' of the first film to the 'oh god time to get freaked out' of the second.
OMG DECKER YOU DIDN"T JUST CALL THAT SCALPEL AT 16:38 SYRINGE?????? I CAN'T ALLOW SUCH AN ERROR UNSUBBED AND DISLIKED! jk ily Decker, congrats on your 100k!
My theory as to why they used the song "Mr. Sandman": In the first film, Laurie seems to have trouble asking guys out. She doesn't ask Ben Tramer to go to the dance with her in part 1, instead her Annie does, much to Laurie's embarrassment. While walking home she sings "I wish I had you all alone, just the two of us" She isn't like her freinds who are very forward with guys. In part 2 she meets Jimmy, who she seems to fall for(especially if you watch the tv ending, where they hold hands in the ambulance). She would have never met him if it wasn't for Michael sending her to the hospital. It's almost as if Michael was "Mr. Sandman"; he brought Laurie together with Jimmy. "Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream Make him the cutest that I've ever seen Give him the word that I'm not a rover Then tell him that his lonesome nights are over Sandman, I'm so alone Don't have nobody to call my own" I really like the use of the song in this film.
All man when Decker shadow tells Michael Myers it is a stupid looking mask. The look and experience on Michael's face is priceless he's like hey it was either the William Shatner mask or the Leonard Nimoy mask and the Leonard Nimoy mask had spock 🖖 ears which one would you choose. 🤔

I would just like to mention that back around 91' or 92' a kid in my neighborhood actually did choke to death on a syringe needle hidden in a 3 musketeers bar. Tampered candy is a real thing; at least in Brooklyn during the early 90's.
This was the last good above average film in this franchise until 2018 which I really liked and small amount loved..... glad you liked this more then you did the original, and again appreciate the integrity of saying what YOU think popularity be damned it is missing in most people these days sadly.
All he did with these Halloween reviews, like all of his reviews, is nitpick the shit out of them. Anyone can nitpick a movie. It's not hard to do that.
How did Myers even know how his younger sister looked like especially since she had a different name? Last time he might have seen her she was just a toddler. No way he would have known since he was lock up for so many years in isolation
I always thought it would have been so cool to see Michael's hand sustaining dammage as he boils the nurse's face. Seeing he could take injury but it still wouldn't stop him.

Halloween II (1981) is my favorite Halloween movie out of the whole entire franchise. My second favorite is the original Halloween (1978) and my third favorite is Halloween III (1982). My favorite scene in Halloween II (1981) is when Karen (Pamela Susan Shoop) drops her towel and gets into the whirlpool bath with Bud for a skinny-dip!

My thoughts XACTLY ! HALLOWEEN 2 IS WAY BETTER THAN THE FIRST, SCARIER AND BETTER MUSIC SCORE. AND THE BEST IN THE FRANCHISE. Only flaw was i wish the Deleted scenes were kept.
Chris Terry thanks for being captain obvious there, "daddy". But first: removing great movies like H2 from any timeline is idiocy mixed with insanity nonetheless. Removing something that works good is never a good idea. Second: retconing already developed story served the franchise very well the last time(sarcasm). And third: it doesn't look like they're about to replace severed parts of the story with something worth mentioning. The movie already looks like H20 remake only this time it lacks even more parts of the original story. P.S. their "wantings" have already made two separate continiuties in the franchise and "Season of the Witch". And now they spawned another one. So what? We'll have another timeline each time they'll fuck it up? How about people will finally choose one direction they want their franchise to follow? Because I already feel like I need to make a list of things that was thrown away from continuity this time. Like I said, those people are brain damaged.
Chris Terry nothing but an insults and weeping of a child. Pathetic. If you have nothing to answer then don't waste my time and try to grow up. Who knows, maybe you'll understand at least half of what I'm talking about.
Chris Terry want to hear something really funny? You actually dumb enough to believe that insults will erase facts and will get you somewhere. As I said, it's pathetic, but still funny.

Man dude i love your reviews its so funny but your point of view and how u do the dramatic reading lol i love it.
I have always liked Halloween 2 better than the original. Glad to see someone else agrees.
Agreed. It's like the first one, but with fixed flaws and improved advantages. Those who decided to retcon this movie are brain damaged.
