    I met a VP of a financial firm that got me interested in joining his company as an advisor so I’m doing research, this is crazy to me bc I think I found out what I wanna do with my life now. I read rich dad poor dad on a whim a few months ago and loved it so much I went online to play his game 🤣occasionally listen to the podcast too. Finances is a hobby for me, I’m definitely going to seriously consider it as an occupation now. I wanted to be a business owner but this is definitely a great way to get my foot in the door

      Love it! Wealth management/Financial advice is a fantastic career if you do it right. Takes some hard work and sacrifice but if you're passionate about finance its the best.

    I haven’t seen one of your videos for a while, Josh, and seriously, the FIRST thing I noticed were your book shelves and books. Great promo for books in our very digital world!!
    Ps: dream car=Ford Mustang, cheaper, cooler looking. I can still remember how my ‘66, 289 bored out to 302, mag wheels, sounded when I put the pedal to the metal! Loved that car!

    Great advice!
    I wonder if you might do a video to share the tools you see when you read, learn, take notes and create content, as a financial advisor.
    Eg. Do you use any of these methodologies the GTD, BASB or Zettelkasten in capturing your ideas?
    Wonderful sharing, I'll go through your playlist for advisors. Can resonate with them, even though I'm living in a different geographical region.

    • @JoshOlfertCFP
      @JoshOlfertCFP  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I appreciate that! I’m glad you’re finding them relatable. Mine would be most similar to BASB but I’ve actually never taken it. I’ve just lightly copied the major concept from the people I know who have.
      Great idea though. I’ll put it in my 2nd brain.

      CFA = Analysis
      CFP = Relationships
      In one job you will be on earnings and investor calls and diving into spreadsheets all day. The other, you’re building a relationship with a human to help optimize their personal finances. Which one would you prefer to do? What matches your strengths better?

    I agree that Rich Dad Poor Dad has some really good nuggets of wisdom and helps to change your mindset in terms of wealth and investing. That said, I unfortunately felt once I got the crux of the message, it felt a bit too repetitive and could have been boiled down a bit better IMHO.

    • @JoshOlfertCFP
      @JoshOlfertCFP  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah you’re totally right. If it’s the 1st book you read on investing it’s life changing. If it’s the 20th book you read it’s painfully cliche.

    • @JoshOlfertCFP
      @JoshOlfertCFP  ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a great point! I feel the prescription thing is conceptually important but practically untenable. The philosophy is more important than the direct application.
