The 1" lip is to stop water intrusion from rushing fkrward and overloading the scuppers. It's to prevent water coming over the transom and having a straight shot to the bow, unimpeded, to swamp, the forward deck in water and allow more water to oversurge. That 1" is doing quite a lot.
One of the nicest day boat from Fjord, on the market . I think that even with the additions not a bad price. You want quality then you pay for quality. I presume that she'll cope with rivers and the sea, comfortable and safe.
A very interesting option. Was that some sort of trimarn behind Alex in blue? Outboards are getting very popular so it's good that Fjord is offering them. A lot depends on things that don't show on these videos, a lot of a boats quality requires experiencing it up close. European boats have been moving up market for some time, Schaffer is more of a value brand.
At this price point, I wish Fjord had found decent space for an inboard barbecue. Were I still young and not thinking about ultraviolet damage to my hide, I might like sunbeds. In my mature time, being directly in the sun was not attractive. I would trade that space for a better cabin and the barbecue.
Where did Motor Boat and Yachting get the idea of a £600k day boat being "entry level" ?!! Not in my book, or in any marina near me (I am on the East Coast in Essex). This is not to take away from Alex's excellent presentation, but please don't patronise us with words like "entry level" when it is twice the price of the average house, and will never be affordable for 99.9% of the population
This seems like the Ideal day boat set up. Fjord knows their market and strength. Nice!
That is a great day/weekend boat, nice design and layout, just what you need for fun on the water. Great tour thank you Alex.

Awesome boat. How’s performance and cost versus the outboard variant?
Am I just too strict or the joinery and caulcing should be more precise for that kind of money 8:05 ?
Is there an option for a sea keeper?
De Antonio 36 feels bigger than this. Definitely preferred theirs over this one.

non si possono vedere le scarpe sul teak….
The Sealine S390 is a better boat for almost the same money

Yeah, that's a fair point in the broader market context. But if you want a Fjord, I'm afraid this 38-footer is as entry-level as it gets!
