    OMG ! I was so worried about having doors instead of a hatch back and u have made them useful

      The barn doors was a selling point for me when I was looking to buy.

      Never want a Suburban unless it has the two barn doors. Tailgate with rolldown window will not last with GM notorious cheap quality and design.

    What a great TurnKey setup, really the best one I've seen for solo. Thanks for sharing, you gave me some great ideas.

      Thanks! And you’re welcome. I watched lots of van builds and suv builds on TH-cam before I built mine out. So figured why not upload a walk around. So maybe could help someone else out in planning their build.

    I'll be honest man when I saw the vehicle I was like "this is gonna be a mess inside..." but I was wrong. You have a very nice and simple set up. I like the way you organized it and kept it minimal, and everything you did was pretty good quality compared to the cluttered mess you see inside a lot of SUVs. I just traded in my overland built 4runner today and bought my 1st Suburban and your video gave me a couple ideas. Thanks!

    • @northernmichiganoverland
      @northernmichiganoverland  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. I didn’t want a ton of extra weight so kept everything as minimal as possible. But still have everything I need inside for a trip at all times. Just throw some food in the fridge and grab some clothes and go.

      I've got over 280k on my 2001 Suburban 2500 with the 6.0. I bought it with high mileage for $1,800. I've replaced the A/C compressor. I replaced the steering box with a "blue top" rebuilt box. I've had a number of suburbans. If you notice the fuel pump is starting to get louder, replace it cause it's about to fail. Rather than dropping the tank, consider cutting an access panel from the inside. They are very affordable and easy to work on.

    • @northernmichiganoverland
      @northernmichiganoverland  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidbenji1 yep that’s exactly why I picked this one up. Only 105k on the clock and zero rust. Thanks for the heads up on the fuel pump.

      Same as the stock battery. Basically just runs my fridge and a few leds. And most of the time I move daily so dont need a ton of juice.

    now thats an overland build with the lift . not that no lift nonsense

    • @Wicked_RotF30
      @Wicked_RotF30 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Big lifts aren't necessary. My buddy, who off roads all the time out in Idaho, told me years ago that 33s are plenty for off-road. I will likely do the Kryptonite 3" lift on my Z71 Burb and run with a set of 285/75/17 tires. Brand new FX4 super duty trucks come with that size, so they have to be capable.

    • @northernmichiganoverland
      @northernmichiganoverland  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree in Michigan especially. That’s all I run on my actual wheeling rig. My Jeep XJ is on 33x13.50x15 Open Country MTs with a spartan locker up front. The suburban is more my tow rig and back road cruiser lol.
