What a song from her Contribution album. I replied to a comment here about when i played this back in the early 90s, hoping to get a reaction, when we hosted U2 one night in my friends club/bar. Should of been massive around the world this song!
Saw your other comment... Incidentally, we had a pub/club called *Friends* back in my country, Kenya ☺. This song was massive here! It was all over the radio, clubs, and our famous public mode of transport called "matatus".
@@RoneyNgala The matatus, what a neat name for the popular public transport there. Its great to learn how huge this song was in Kenya, its still an incredible song for me now and always will be. Everyday, im always watching African wildlife on TH-cam, lions, hyenas, leopards, and all the rest. After music, those amazing animals are another passion of mine. I can never get enough of them and i believe Kenya has always had some of the greatest examples of their territories and populations. Thats something to be very proud of, to come from the same lands as these magnificent animals. Lions have always been my lifetime favourite animal to study and be amazed at the very harsh lives they have to endure.
Found this song by accident. One of the best accidents I must admit. The chills when I found it! She is a genius on this one. If I could go back to this era, I wouldn't dither even for a minute.
Loved your comment, so i give my story to you. I had a friend who owned a bar/club with pool tables and one night, almost 1am and 30mins from closing, we got a special visit. U2 were touring here and in they came with their manager, security and a few others, but no Bono. We had around 500 CDs and i was their DJ for the next 2hrs and we closed the doors to give them privacy, as they enjoyed a drink and they loved playing pool. I played this, hoping to hit the mark, and i sure did. I saw them reacting and they sent their manager over to ask who it was and that they loved it. A little bit later, guitarist The Edge approached to ask if he could choose a CD. He chose my most loved male solo rock artist/performer of all, David Bowie. This night occured in the mid 90s, unforgettable. Im not a big fan of their music, but respect them for some great songs and one of the biggest bands of all time and still touring.
@@RoneyNgala Thanks Roney, your lovely comment was the one that made me want to tell my story. Lovely to meet someone who feels the same about this, its such a timeless fantastic song.
