I bought this book around 1977 and really enjoyed it. I still have it and it is looking a bit faded. It is the edition with the orange octopus on the cover.

i have this edition, as well as the avon edition of seven footprints to satan and the metal monsters. i have the moon pool and face in the abyss in the more modern editions with rodney matthews covers. the problem is that i have no idea which edition of each novel is the definitive one.
