I can’t stand when people say “port to PC.” Literally every console game is ported FROM PC. No developer is cutting triple A titles on a PS/Xbox. They are all developed and tested on PC before ever touching a console. These yo-yos need to realize that without PCs there would be ZERO console games, or consoles.

You honestly think any of these games were developed on PC/Xbox? Hell no. They’re developed in Unreal/Unity/etc... then the files are just extracted to a recognizable file structure for the console platform. Then if bugs are found, they have to fix them on PC, then extract a new file set and application. The process of compiling the PC version is much more streamlined and stable because they are developed on PC, in a PC development environment, and tested on the same pC they are developed on. You need to learn how the development process works. To port means to restructure for a different platform. You don’t restructure PC developed games for PC, just because you did a console extraction.

So the subscription fees and price hike on games aren’t greedy, but porting games is? Even ignoring the blatant hypocrisy here, Sony is a company with the main goal of making money. Given that they usually don’t make a profit on selling hardware, their two main of making money from gaming is software and subscription fees. Both those things can be moved to PC without much issue, so there’s no real reason to not port their games to PC if they’re looking to get money for that audience. There’s no logical reason not to do it.

At least Nintendo develops most of their own exclusives. Sony mostly buys developers and keeps them on their platform.

@@De1usionsofGrandeur most of the outsourced companies aren’t actually owned by Nintendo. They just do work with Nintendo. Sony flat out buys them. IIRC the last real acquisition Nintendo has made was with next level games, but they were pretty much exclusively working with Nintendo anyway.

do this kind of people not know that Sony is porting Games to PC since the PS1 era (Mass Destruction, Final Fantasy 7,8,9, Tekken, Wipeout 2097, G-Police, Lifeforce Tenka, Ace Combat, Fighting Force, Silent Hill, Breath of Fire, Guilty Gear, Nuclear Strike, Tales of Series, Ridge Racer, Nightmare Creatures, etc...) and everyone was happy, because it's business as usual?
If there are no exclusives, hardware producers will have more pressure to innovate (like the KFConsole) which will actually push the industry forward.

I don't know but people like crap gamer care more about the exclusivity status of these games than the games themselves. It's really weird. It's as if some of these people's lives are void of actual achievements that matter they have to rely on video games exclusivity to feel as if they're better than the person who doesn't have access to these games. It's just video games, if someone wants to play Playstation exclusives or Nintendo or whatever they can just buy the damn console. It's not like they own a Ferrari or something.

The switch is the only console whos existance still makes sense. It resides comfortably in the deadzone between smartphones and PC that console harbor a hometurf advantage in. Where the other two are just copying what PC's do badly.
