this is identical to mine... even the same original wheels.... These are fantastic to drive even today - but you need a good specialist for keeping it maintained.... Everything is expensive or complicated.... !! :-)

The only way I've found to clean the buttons on the steering wheel is WD-40. Apply with a cloth and gently wipe. Doing it regularly over a month has taken away the stickiness.
I just used my nails and got it done in 5 minutes.

+Gino CLK, meen je dat? Niet te vergelijken man. CL is liefhebbers top auto pur sang, CLK (met name de oudere versies) opgeleukte C klasse met E klasse neus.
+sjonhigh Zowel de oudere versie als de nieuwere zijn briljante auto's, vooral voor wat je krijgt voor je geld. Bovendien zijn de CLKs een stuk betrouwbaarder dat de CL en je kan niet ontkennen dat de nieuwere CLKs mooier zijn vooral de voorkant met de gecombineerde koplampen.
Was recently hungrily eyeing one of these in black-on-black CL65 guise with about 80k miles on it. The want is soooo strong but the other side of my brain knows its soooo wrong; the ABC alone would be like buying into a 24 hour nightmare given its propensity for horrifically expensive repairs, and the coil packs alone cost a fortune. Oh, but dreams die hard!!!!
if you had money to buy a 65 then 600 euro coil packs and 500 euro shocks shouldn't be so scary

@@raycroal Funny as these things go: my info came from the wildly fear-driven forums etc., where it seems everyone goes to the dealer for all work on their cars judging by what they say it costs to maintain. I bought a 2001 S500 last year with all options including ABC, and replaced the front struts and flushed the system for under $1500 including parts, from my excellent independent service guy. My opinion has changed entirely since I saw that invoice!

Heerlijke bak. Echt tof, zeker voor die prijzen!
Voeg daaraan toe , wegenbelasting/verbruik (voor het gemak nemen we de fabrieksopgave)/verzekering , dan ben je ongeveer Euro 500,- per maand lichter bij een gebruik van 10.000 km per jaar.Daar tel je de onderhoudskosten bij op en het moge duidelijk zijn waarom er benadrukt wordt dat je zo'n automobiel niet met je laatste geld moet aanschaffen.De aanschaf van een goedkoop exemplaar is nu ongeveer Euro 5000,- .Geen juiste investering , lijkt me.
IwillBwaiting: Koop `m maar voor die €5000,- Wegzetten voor €17,- p.m. in een oude bloemenkas en af en toe mee rijden. Over 10 jaar is die dan €10000,- waard. Mark my words ;-) 100% ROI

Dirt cheap? The cheapest I've seen was around $30,000...
I've seen V12 CL600's in the $10,000 range though
Eidrian111 They’re cheap (relatively) for a reason. There is nothing more expensive than an old high end Mercedes like a CL 65 AMG. Maintenance and parts replacement are a fortune on a $220,000 Mercedes. The depreciation has made it cheap, but the replacement parts remain expensive and the maintenance required is extensive. Buy at your own risk. It’s not for the poor.
