Bought this, really enjoy the art style and look of this game, it's clear the devs put alot of work into making the game's alien architectures and colour pop. combat is pretty fun. Humor is great. Love these Metroidvania style games, wish there was more.

Even at the normal price of Gamepass at 9.99 for PC it’s well worth it. The price of the game on any other app is irrelevant when it’s free with Gamepass. The amount of quality games and newly added games you get with Gamepass is crazy. Anyone who doesn’t have Gamepass on PC whom games on PC at this point is nuts.
this game is very reminiscent of ps2 era cartoony platformer games. it's not trying hard to stand out, be revolutionary, or milk your time and be the only game you'll ever play. it's just simply fun.
My biggest issue is the lack of FOV slider, but if it gets added it will be great The best part is when you're in combat and the anemy just starts randomly twerking to taunt you, always caught me off guard! Keep up the good work
Thumbs up for actually finishing the game AND THEN giving a review...So many others gave a "review" before they've even played it at least through the end. Putting up a "review" of a game like this before actually seeing everything it has to offer is completely ridiculous.
Personally, I love this game for the art direction. I think I will get it just for that, well, on sale. You know, I've never cared about a FOV slider until I got hurt. I cannot believe how helpful that is at times to fight neuro-issues due to light changes in games.
Pretty fun game! lots to enjoy. My only gripe is the amount of bugs. There are so many moments where things go awry and I have to restart. For example, one boss battle he was stuck under the map. Another I ran so fast I hit an edge and ended up flying up outside of the map and got stuck in the sky. other gripes include way too much dialogue it tends to overlap into a mess of not understanding what anyone is saying. Gameplay is great, love the art style.
Possibly has great potential for fun mods with this art/game style. Looks like a great game to pick up on discount and have a relaxed playthrough whenever I have some time to kill. Thanks for the great review as always Mort
Don't wait for discount, help support these type of games by picking them up as soon as you can, the satisfaction of playing through and realising how much time and thought and lack of corperate producer interference of developers is well worth the money if you havnt picked it up on game pass
My issue was the lack of varied content. Sure the activities to do were insanely fun. Loved warp bases, finding all the chests and completing the collections, but the co tent wasn't varied at all. It went from finding chests to shooting the same model aliens to fighting a boss to finding chests ect. Nothing to break it up. I didn't exactly get bored, but it wasn't the most thrilling experience which is a shame as the games environments looked incredible. The thing is I'm not even sure what kind of content would have worked in this game. The humour was top notch though 8/10 in my opinion
This game was amazing. Blew my expectations out of the park. My favorite part was when you killed the Mac n cheese bros dad and then one of them is so happy that it creates a rainbow bridge.

After my experience with this game I can say this is a title that is more fun to watch others play than it is to play itself. But if you are a fan of Rick and Morty, the humor is well done
Good review, didn't really know what to expect of this game. My problem with these type of games are that the ideas are great and really something I dig, but when I try to play them I don't like them so much :( Great they make games like these that go their own direction and not trying to please the mass crowd. Though maybe the price is a bit too steep for such games, especially when it's a short game on top of that. Good thing that it is on gamepass for those in doubt or finding the price too high.
I was streaming it & my chat told me to try pausing it at the start. The game calls you an idiot lol. "In what game is pause used to shoot" They also tease a sequel that sounds much higher stakes. But you have to go exploring to find it. You 100% so I know you've seen it. Honestly it was one of my top 5 this year. I thought the humour would get tiring after a while. But I loved it all the way through.
Unfortunately I cannot play it as I do not have a Xbox or PC. However I watched a Play through as well as your review and probably more as you are reading this. I think the game looks like a lot of fun but I do think it needs more to it and they are leading towards a sequel by the looks of it so maybe they'll learn from that once we hear more on that.

Playing on game pass and glad I did not spend $60. Great writing, pretty substandard on EVERYTHING else. I think this review is pretty accurate. I’d add if you’re a regular shooting game player: the staple movement and skill abilities are NOT provided right away, making the game feel extremely limited for the first hour or so.
I love Rick and morty/Solar opposites but I had to take a break every now and then from this game when the humour style started to get a lil dry. I think this type of humour really is better suited to 20 minute episodes
I ran into an annoying bug that reset all passive upgrades on my guns besides kenny, what I mean by that is the clip size, trick hole cooldown, and reload speed upgrades reset. It seemed to happen during the section where you and kenny go to applebees. when I regained the other weapons after their stats were reset and I had no way to regain the upgrades I had already bought.
I think its a pretty solid game actually, the bugs Ive ran into, including the one above are a bit annoying but I suspect they can be fixed relatively easily. The visuals, storyline, and general gameplay loop were all enjoyable to me. I think itll be a good game once they put in a few bug fixing patches.

This review is pretty spot on, I also played it on Gamepass and beat it relatively quickly. I love South Park, but found this type of comedy hit or miss and by the end I was skipping as much trash minions as possible just to move the story along. I laughed here and there but as you said, unless you really enjoy the comedy you will start seeing cracks in the game quickly. Overall though, I would also recommend checking it out it was something different and fun for only $15. Cheers
It took a while to get into this game, because TBH the start is the weakest part and it takes time to get used to the graphics and mechanics, but after a while I got into it and took my time to really listen to all the chatter and it’s truly extremely enjoyable, one of the most fun all year. But you have to be in the mood and really relaxed playing it, slowly. It’s also not super long so I love the fact it keeps moving forward all the time. There’s no grind at all. One of this year’s highlights. Buy yes you need to be into the Rick & Morty type of humour, otherwise you will not enjoy the crazy amounts of dialogue in this game. On the gameplay and shooting side, I think it was fine and I loved the gun variety, but it’s let down by a massive lack of enemy variety as you say here.
Loved this game, but my biggest complaint is that I was forced to play with a controller. The movement keys for WASD are unable to be bound elsewhere. I am left- handed and need to remap my keys on every day. This game did not allow this.
I’m still stuck with no way to progress the drummers rise to fame. I gave him the drum at the end of the game and now it won’t allow me to progress because I have no bosses to kill to further progression. I’ve also come across warp bases that I’m unable to collect warp crystals from even though I’ve killed all mobs in the area. Love the game but needs some love to fix these missteps.
I had the same problem. I didn't check in with them in between bounties and missed my opportunity to progress their side story. It looks like there are a few achievements that are missable on your first playthrough. I nailed almost all of them after the endgame, but a second playthrough has to be made for the obvious few plus the forum achievements. It is what it is, unfortunately.
I enjoyed the game a lot but my only few complaints is the lack of an FOV slider like you mentioned, and the amount of times I got stuck inside the walls. For example when I was in the slums going away from the high on life store, I got stuck inside a building because I went onto a zipline too early and I had to redo that entire section. It happened so often that I got used to it happening.
Finished it. I enjoyed the game it was fun. Key word is fun. Glad it was on Game Pass, not worth the full price due to the amount of content. Should allow the house back to the city at the end so we could complete some of the side quests. Nice dig at the critics Easter egg towards the end.
Playing Blacktail at the moment and I have the exact same issue with the game minus the humor ! It's a pretty decent story and there are some frustrating aspects but that's that ! It's enjoyable, I am enjoying it but I'm not sure I would recommend it. And when I"ll finish it, I don't think I'll play it again to see the other ending because it's the kind of game that burns you out with it's defaults.
100% it on gamepass . If you dont have gamepass amd have an xbox or pc . Get one month of gamepass for 1 pound. 1 month is enough time playing a few hours a night to finish high on life, scorn, plauge tale requiem and a few other games that even if you bought you probably wouldnt play through more than once any way. If you like this type of humor you’ll love the game. If you don’t there’s nothing in the game that’s gonna change your mind. Personally this is the hardest I’ve laughed at anything in years and it’s the perfect gamepass game.
I feel like this game started off strong with the whole retro shooter segment and slowly just kind of went south for me. As a big rick and morty fan I felt some of the jokes didn’t land and the ones the did weren’t worth the price of admission (bought on steam). Definitely worth a play through on a game pass but the game itself is pretty generic outside the humor and is a tough sell at full retail price.
Call me a boomer but I've never seen a single episode of Rick and Morty. I played this game for about an hour before uninstalling. I didn't think it was funny and the gameplay was uninteresting.

The difference between reviews when someone actually genuinely interested in the game compared to someone who reviewed it just because they wanted to put out some content. I don't understand why some people reviewed it when they clearly do not like Rock & Morty's comedy style to begin with and then written scathing reviews about the writing. One note on the price, the publishers have actually taken into account that currencies vary around the world and have priced the game according to regions. In the UK this game is fairly priced, where as other mainstream publishers now seem to feel $60 = £60 so we get absolutely ripped off in the UK.
Loved this game, it's a good comedy. Even got caught watching the movies that are in this game, Tammy and the T-rex with Denise Richards and Paul Walker? yeah 2 known actors in a interesting 'B' moviie I did 2 walkthrough and got all achievements except the 2 that were bugged and are still bugged (unless you are lucky). Not sure i'd pay 60$ for it but I have gamepass.

I've played and reviewed this game on my channel and gave it an 8. I really enjoyed the humour and characters as well as world building and traversal. It's a fun game.
I played this on my friend's Xbox until I beat the first boss and it seems like a decent shooter. My biggest issue with the game is how often it locks you in place during a Justin Roiland joke rant. Not even saying I dislike the comedy but in the first 30 minutes of the game they stop you like 4 times while characters go on these 2 minute joke rants and I just sit there and wait to move again
As someone with a full time job and 2 kids the short length for a good game is actually a plus

Love this game. Playing on hard is the way to go. It forces you go change up your arsenal on the fly a bit more and the bosses are tougher.

Borderlands 2 is a more full version of what this game sets out to do IMO.

I played on Xbox series x. 8 hour into the game got a game breaking bug where a door didn't open. Fun game just not going to finish it now.

I had a bug where I didn't have to fight the end boss in the office lol. Bum rush to the terminal in the room and click then he just dies

Was really looking forward to this game. And gave it a try, played for hours. But, got very stale, very fast. Unfortunately I quit.
Finished it. I enjoyed the game it was fun. Key word is fun. Glad it was on Game Pass, not worth the full price due to the amount of content. Should allow the house back to the city at the end so we could complete some of the side quests. Nice dig at the critics Easter egg towards the end.
You can teleport back to the city from your house, it's one the portal options

Playing Blacktail at the moment and I have the exact same issue with the game minus the humor ! It's a pretty decent story and there are some frustrating aspects but that's that !
It's enjoyable, I am enjoying it but I'm not sure I would recommend it. And when I"ll finish it, I don't think I'll play it again to see the other ending because it's the kind of game that burns you out with it's defaults.
So far, my favorite thing to do is take the second gun's special attack and bat it around like captain America with Mjolnir and his shield.
100% it on gamepass . If you dont have gamepass amd have an xbox or pc . Get one month of gamepass for 1 pound. 1 month is enough time playing a few hours a night to finish high on life, scorn, plauge tale requiem and a few other games that even if you bought you probably wouldnt play through more than once any way. This game is good but the two negatives are the enemy’s and the guns. There is a lack of enemy variety and the guns are not well balanced
If you like this type of humor you’ll love the game. If you don’t there’s nothing in the game that’s gonna change your mind. Personally this is the hardest I’ve laughed at anything in years and it’s the perfect gamepass game.

I feel like this game started off strong with the whole retro shooter segment and slowly just kind of went south for me. As a big rick and morty fan I felt some of the jokes didn’t land and the ones the did weren’t worth the price of admission (bought on steam). Definitely worth a play through on a game pass but the game itself is pretty generic outside the humor and is a tough sell at full retail price.
Call me a boomer but I've never seen a single episode of Rick and Morty. I played this game for about an hour before uninstalling. I didn't think it was funny and the gameplay was uninteresting.

I'm the same I've never seen the show but I played this and I loved it such a good laugh, it reminded me of the way games used to be, real good feel to it.
probably the only reason I will never but this is because it's 12 hours of gameplay and GTA has comedy on it's freaking in game internet
As someone with a full time job and NO kids the short length for a good game is actually a plus!

I like the artstyle and boss figths gameplay is pretty good to normal Enemys are to weak tho and not really my type of humer interesting dialoog choices i play it on game pass 7/10
The difference between reviews when someone actually genuinely interested in the game compared to someone who reviewed it just because they wanted to put out some content. I don't understand why some people reviewed it when they clearly do not like Rock & Morty's comedy style to begin with and then written scathing reviews about the writing.
One note on the price, the publishers have actually taken into account that currencies vary around the world and have priced the game according to regions. In the UK this game is fairly priced, where as other mainstream publishers now seem to feel $60 = £60 so we get absolutely ripped off in the UK.
Loved this game, it's a good comedy. Even got caught watching the movies that are in this game, Tammy and the T-rex with Denise Richards and Paul Walker? yeah 2 known actors in a interesting 'B' moviie I did 2 walkthrough and got all achievements except the 2 that were bugged and are still bugged (unless you are lucky). Not sure i'd pay 60$ for it but I have gamepass.
I completely agree, I continue to enjoy this game I've done two missions repetitive yes but enjoyable. I don't watch Rick and Morty but I do watch solar opposites and I love that show. Merry Christmas everyone!

I really think the best review anyone can give to this game is: If you like Rick and Morty, you will have a lot of fun with this game. If you don't like that show, you will be extremely annoyed with this game very quickly.
I've played and reviewed this game on my channel and gave it an 8. I really enjoyed the humour and characters as well as world building and traversal. It's a fun game.
This is a great Game Pass game but idk if I could say definitely go get it for $60
The game is fun enough and I'm vibing it but I can see how it could wear out it's welcome after a couple hours. Game Pass is awesome.👌

I played this on my friend's Xbox until I beat the first boss and it seems like a decent shooter. My biggest issue with the game is how often it locks you in place during a Justin Roiland joke rant. Not even saying I dislike the comedy but in the first 30 minutes of the game they stop you like 4 times while characters go on these 2 minute joke rants and I just sit there and wait to move again
I just wished they made a demo available. Its kinda terrible to subscribe to a service in order to get a taste of a game
